I'm worried on mvp's move of re hiring coach chot to tnt.. is this coaching warm up for him for his true destination of coaching gilas in 2023? Wag Naman Sana.. I know coach chot salivating on coaching the likes of Kai Sotto, aj edu and jordan clarkson in one team.. I hope chot leave tab and the rest of gilas alone.. i got feel this is happening.. because atleast chot have that pba board trust and even al Chua will give him some smc players unlike tab..

For sure Chot will lick ass his way for another Gilas gig in time for 2023 WC....In as much as I like TNT, it's ok if Chot will suck badly at TNT and Gilas continue winning under Tab...Otherwise we might be seeing Chot again at Gilas and his Bara bars basketball...

TNT gets all the juice, plus the 4th pick (possibly mikey williams/jeremiah gray)? Won't happen bro. Unless TNT is testing Marcial.

confusing enough to work, and easy to justify the inclusion of CBC as he is injured last season (no stats to compare).

Ah well this is why it's called a lopsided trade. Haha.

But at least, BW gets decent players in exchange for Trollano and CBC. NLEX gets a future pick though not as high as #4.

If Marcial approved the CJ Perez trade, he should approve this trade as well. This is way better than the CJ Perez one.

haha u got me bro. I forgot this is the PBA.

Bro, this won't cut. Unless TNT is messing with Marcial.

Doesn't look logical for me. Let's look at this in more detailed fashion:

NLEX adds: Roaario, Montalbo, TNT 2022 1st round pick
loses: Ravena, 2020 4th pick, Ighalo, 2022 2nd round pick

BWE adds: Javier, Vosotros, Ighalo, NLEX 2022 2nd round pick
loses: Trollano, Cruz

TNT adds: Ravena, Trollano, Cruz, NLEX 2020 4th pick
loses: Rosario, Montalbo, Vosotros, Javier

Assuming this report is true:

BWE is the least affected, which should be the case as they are merely a conduit team. Cruz didn't play last season while Trollano, coming off a career season, will be traded for role players.

NLEX is the biggest loser and I don't even know why Yeng would agree to this. A Ravena-Rosario trade seem fair so we'll leave it at that. Let's say Montalbo is equivalent to NLEX's second round pick for 2022. What I don't get is NLEX losing a potential blue chipper in the 4th overall pick plus Ighalo for a potential 2022 late pick. I cannot imagine TNT drafting in the Top 6 by 2022 with Chot there and with its lineup expected to be refurbished in a "win now" mentality so why would the Road Warriors trade down first round picks, plus Ighalo? Just won't cut it, as Jomar cited.

TNT obviously would end up the winner in this deal. They get a Ravena in exchange for Rosario (equal). They get a Trollano and Cruz for Montalbo, Vosotros and Javier (which is already one-sided per se), then they still get the 4th pick of NLEX. Just too heavily one-sided in their favor.

The 4th pick in this draft is almost just as precious as Ravena. A Pogoy for that 4th pick, plus Ighalo, may be the more logical scenario...

Bro. Yeng doesn't have any power.

Remember the Erram trade?

Coach Yeng: " I don't want to trade Poy, but management decision" (Non Verbatm)

I'm sure he doesn't. Just like Terrafirma or Northport or Blackwater. Rich teams will always try to get the best advantage possible - it's seldom we hear of them losing on lopsided deals. At worst for them, the trade is balanced. Otherwise, they'll almost always be getting the better end of the deal.

But it's not about NLEX or Yeng or farm teams. It's about the PBA. They have a job to do, which, however, based on previous transactions, I couldn't anymore determine what the objectives are. What I do know is that the PBA's mandate is to ensure that trades are deemed fair and viable, and that both teams would end up getting better whether in the short, mid or long-term. The other objective is to ensure parity in the league, or at least, that's what I used to know.

But then, we all know parity hasn't been happening this way already for over three decades already. Way different from Tommy Manotoc and Rudy Salud's days as Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner, respectively, when all efforts were made to ensure that all the teams have a competitive chance of winning the championship.

sucks to be NLEX, when will MVP put his attention to this sorry franchise.? Hopefully they have a long term plan for NLEX to be competitive and not just a glorified farm team

Hehe it's not a rumor, just me trying to be a GM. LOL!

I found it hard how to make the trade fair for NLEX. Maybe they won't give up their 4th pick, this makes things a lot simpler.

Do you think they will stick with their draft picks? Do you think they are getting both Navarro and Oftana even after losing Ravena? And Nieto playing for Gilas.

Depends on what they intend to do with Ravena. If Chot would really want to have Kiefer at TNT, then Yeng may have to look for a point guard as Alas alone won't be able to carry the team. He has better luxury because of the bevy of quality court generals in the draft so that wouldn't be a problem. Getting a Rosario in return may be what Yeng would consider, given that it's more difficult to look for a 6'7 who can play both forward positions.

If they lose Ravena, they will most likely keep their two draft picks and get Oftana and Navarro or another big and settle for a shooting guard in the second round. What Yeng would want obviously is to look for versatile bigs who can score from the outside and not the post up, behind the basket, type of player. So Navarro may still be in the consideration. And yes, given that Nieto is there already and may suit up this season, he may have the PG that he wants to cover for Alas.

NLEX's primary weaknesses are the wings (2 and 3) - versatile positions that Yeng love to have an abundance of given his stints with Red Bull (Fonacier, Baguio, Tugade, Valenzuela, Alvarez, and Najorda) and ROS (Norwood, Chan, Araña, Ibañes, Matias, Ronjay Buenafe). He most likely would want to retain this setup, plus have 3 centers, 2 power forwards, and 3 point guards. Getting Belga would be huge though for them but they can only get him if they give up one of their draft picks, plus another player or a future pick.
