Philippine PBA Trades, Releases, Sign-ups, Rumours (vol. III)

Trade rumors abound that Barako's Dorian Peña is scheduled to return to Petron Blaze Boosters for Carlo Sharma and Celino Cruz. This effectively fills up the primary need of the Blaze Boosters - perhaps their only weak link in their lineup. Sharma and Cruz, on the other hand, will go back to Barako but under a different franchise.

Hence, Petron's lineup becomes even more formidable:

C - Peña, Reyes, Baclao
PF - Ildefonso, Santos, Washington
SF - Lassiter, Lutz
SG - Hontiveros, Yeo
PG - Cabagnot, Miranda

Coupled with a solid import, this may be the Petron team that's capable of stopping the TnT dynasty.

Pwede!

DT is salivating with this line up:D

DT's version of downplaying their chances but secretly hoping this is really IT! :-)

i don't want ONE championship. i won't be satisfied with ONE championship. So even if they have won one last year it was an empty win-- especially when Evil Empires' great expectations is that of a Grand Slam and some. :)

The pursuit of Tnt for Enrico Villanueva might be getting serious because of impending retirement of Ali peek after this season. Unless they get Asi back which is a short term solution also:cool:

the reason why enrico was the only SMC player to sign for gilas 2...

Hmmmm ... seems like it.

And reamily's assumption of Enrico replacing the aging Ali Peek somewhere down the line also fits. I remember a couple of years back when Norman Black was doing color commentary on the panel. He said at that time, there were only five PBA players that could physically move opponets by the slightest of nudges in the post - 1) Eric Menk, s) Ali Peek, 3) Dorian Pena, 4) Davonne Harp, and 5) Enrico Villanueva.

Since Black will takeover TnT soon, he seems interested in Enrico to cover for Peek's impending retirement.

Trade happening in a few days. Guard + Center for Fil-Am slotman. Revisions in the works.

another one.. japhet for doug kramer?

One trade was just denied by one team. A high flying center for a fellow eagle slotman. I am still monitoring this as I expect revision.

PBA approves Peña trade, vetoes Kramer-Salvador deal

The PBA on Tuesday announced it approval of a three-player trade that would send Dorian Peña back to San Miguel’s flagship franchise.

In the deal, Barako Bull sent the burly center to Petron in exchange for Carlo Sharma and Celino Cruz.

In the same statement, the PBA also announced the veto of a proposed deal that would send Powerade starting center Doug Kramer for Barako Bull backup power forward Jondan Salvador. The deal was “returned to the parties for possible revision to make it more balanced.”

The move comes as a surprise after Powerade earlier announced that it would no longer pursue any trades after dealing star rookie Marcio Lassiter along with Cruz to Petron in exchange for Rabeh Al-Hussaini, Lordy Tugade, and Rey Guevarra.

“No more trades,” wrote Powerade team executive Ronnie Asuncion in a text message to InterAKTV shortly after the Lassiter deal.

definite fire sale since Jayvee for Alex has been thought about. Though it's still a mystery why they haven't moved Gary David yet. Maybe he doesn't fit any of the three SMC teams?

Because of the maximum salary. And just extended lately. For his age and what he brings to the table (one aspect only: offense) that is not a very good investment.

I'd go with your latter argument than of the former, especially with SMC teams having non-iso sets. Anyways, Paul Artadi's also pitching out over at Twitter stating that a Casio-Cortez-Cabagnot trade is in the offing. C3 LOL
