and some of you want an expansion team in PBA? look at BW now.. rather fire sale the team and just make it 11 teams.. PBA is already having too many issues and having an expansion team of 2 more teams (prior to BW sale) will create more issues..

MVP group will not let Blackwater leave.. remember they still have transaction (their 1st rounder to NLEX).. that is crucial for them..

MVP has nothing to do if BW wants to sell the team irregardless of the picks BW has..

Then the picks of blackwater should be kepted lock as the team has already made it known that they will be for sale.

Only will happen if the commissioner has the balls

the only way for a expansion team to work is to have coffers deeper than RSA and MVP, too bad i think only Ayala, Tan, Sy and Villar can match them, and they are not exactly basketball crazy, plus the economy is bad now, BWE wont get the amount they want..

question, where does the fine money go? is it still saved for a trust fund for the players benefit?

True answer?

To the pockets of the pba heads!!!!!

Unlike Nba, there are no pba player association.

“As of now, our focus is to prepare our 3x3 national team for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Austria next year," said Mascarinas when asked if he's interested in making a bid for the Blackwater franchise in the event it is put up for sale.

mukang ayaw ng manok natin.
trans: seems like mascarinas is not interested.

If hindi lang nag invest sa MPBL si Mascarinas i think may chance mag PBA pa siya. pero i think Mighty should also be an interesting prospect. However, settled na ba tax issues nila? and puro Xavier boys bubuuin nila hehe

Xavier boys? Jeric Teng and Chris Tiu might find their way back to the pba then...hehe,

Mighty is under the umbrella of JTI now, s othat is tricky as a full time commitment. Also it can be challenged how they promote it as cigarette promotions is strictly being enforced in our country, especially with du30 as our president

After all Blackwater will remain in the PBA, but possible that some foreign buyers interested in their franchise in the PBA.. hmmm!!! Who's that foreign buyer?

probably 40 percent foreign ownership would be the way to Go unless there are new laws that would affect foreign ownership.I think this will be a good plan if ever, teams will be more competitive, but i hope its not a Chinese corporation. We all know they love to gamble it may not be healthy if you add sports and gambling.

THE resumption of practice by PBA teams will be delayed as the league is still waiting for the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said the resumption of practices will be moved to next week instead of this Wednesday as the league waits for the official health guidelines set by the IATF on the resumption of practices and training by professional leagues in basketball and football.

The IATF has yet to release Resolution 51, a joint administrative order (JAO) by the Department of Health, Games and Amusements Board, and the Philippine Sports Commission which contains the specifics in gradual return to practice under strict health standards.Even without the official protocols from the government, Marcial said the league is patiently waiting for the IATF guidelines, confident that practices will eventually resume.

“I had a talk with Games and Amusements Board chairman Baham Mitra Thursday. He expects to get the administrative order this week,” said Marcial.

“There's a little delay but we're positive we'll go on with the training return,” Marcial added.
Before the formal start of practice, Marcial said the players and personnel must still undergo the first round of three swab tests in order to be allowed to join in the training sessions with their mother teams.

Under the league’s protocols, teams will practice by batch of six – four of which are players. They must only travel from their home to the practice venue in their own vehicles or face sanctions from the league for violating the health standards set by the PBA.

PROFESSIONAL sports in the Philippines will be played without a live audience until a vaccine for the coronavirus has been developed.

That was explicitly stated in the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) drafted by the Department of Health, Games and Amusements Board, and the Philippine Sports Commission that was released this week.

Under the JAO, professional basketball leagues such as the PBA as well as other sports may be held in areas under MGCQ under strict health protocols, but without any fans in the venue.

“Professional sporting events may be allowed in low-risk areas provided such events are compliant to the minimum public health standards. Provided further that no live audience shall be permitted regardless of the risk severity, until an effective vaccine and/or appropriate standard of care for COVID-19 cases is developed,” stated the JAO.

It will take a while for spectators to return to the arenas or stadiums with the COVID-19 pandemic showing no signs of easing up in the country or elsewhere.
