WHO just announced this is already pandemic. Hindi na talaga advisable ang sa ngayon ang lumipad ng local at international flights.

Though this is weird to say that this virus isn’t as deadly, right? Anyway, take care everyone

Sorry for off topic but I think this is should be taken very seriously than it has been

IMHO TB is much more scarier. It's more contagious and kills more people everyday than this new corona virus. There are about 1 mil pinoys with active TB right now despite the free vaccines and drugs available. It takes at least 6 months of treatment and even if you're cured it will always show up on your medicals so it's a career ender for those who work in the medical field..

Anyway take care guys and stock up on supplies. Especially TP.

TB bro has known cure and treatment while Covid has none and being a novel virus, the medical community still know a little about the virus... Contrary to your notion
that TB is career ending, it is not actually, two weeks of treatment, you are deemed non infectious already... While there will be tale tell sign of PTB in your Xray, it is nothing but a fibrosis or scar signifying you have prior infection unless you go into rrlapse or reinfection once your immune system goes done... So parang may sugat ka sa tuhod, it will leave a scar but that just about it... Besides almost all of the Filipinos has been exposed to someone with PTB with hownprevalent it is in the Philippines, pero di naman lahat nagkakaTB... It is still a function of ones immune system...

Despite the available free vaccines at meds we still have ther 3rd highest cases of TB in the world.. that's a problem if you want to work abroad because we have high cases of TB mas mahigpit sila sa medical natin even if you don't have a scar and you tested positive because you got exposed you have to take extra measures just to prove you won't spread the bacteria. That's if you don't have any scars. AFAIK even in the Philippines some companies also don't accept job applicants na may scar sa baga.

Yeah while the Covid is no joke a lot of people seems to forgot about TB or HIV or even Dengue which has killed more Pinoys. They are very preventable but nobody cares because they don't have the same media milage.

Agree.

Covered by media because this is something new and if left untreated mabilis makahawa, fatal to people with existing condition. Anyway, puro maintenance lang ba yung treatment?

Well its not media hype, its more of Fear the Unknown.. Definitely more cases of PTB and HIV or Dengue because of longer exposure to those diseases, PTB has been around for 2 centuries maybe, HIV since 1980s and Dengue maybe 30years, so more cases due to longer exposure... But if you extrapolate the cases of COVID vis a vis the duration when it was first diagnosed, 90,000 world wide cases, and maybe 40-50 cases here in the Philippines the past 2 days is really worrisome... I would rather err on the side of caution than having the attitude of being kampante...

I tried to buy an alcohol, big size at my local supermarket here. Wala na, ubos na. Puro small hand gel sanitizer yung nakita ko. Panic is real

No treatment for Covid... Viral infection, the management is Supportive, you manage the symptoms, Paracetamol for Fever, Hydrate if patientnis dehydrated, boost the immune system so the patient wont go to secondary bacterial infection, Intubate the patient if he goes into Respiratory failure...things like that... At this time, no vaccine nor antiviral available to treat Covid...

There are thousands of Filipinos dies of cigarette smoking than Covid but by the way take care still though.;)

Tama. Being “kampante” caused people in Italy their liberty. Outbreak has spread into an epidemic in just a few days because people (esp teenagers and young adults) went on with their lives as if Covid19 was nothing. They banked on a premise of low mortality and that it kills only people with weak immune system and/or have other serious illnesses. When football players started contracting the virus and some younger people not in the expected age range started dying, boom- a rude awakening. The government did a poor job containing the spread and Italy overtook S. Korea for the 2nd place in just a short period of time.

Too bad it has to come down to this. Guess it’s better to be inside our own houses than being inside a coffin or being intubated in the ICU. I hope people in Pinas becomes more responsible and the government do a good job so as not to resort into a lockdown.

Sure. And if we don't find a treatment and cure for Covid, it will overtake that in no time.

This thing is worse than the flu and right now there is no treatment and cure so fight it off with your immune system, pray you don't contract pneumonia and drown in your own mucus while you sleep.

Keep calm but keep your eyes open.

Cigarettes have been around for a long time plus its way harder to get rid of this virus

Well it well take 5-10years to get Lung CA or Emphysema/COPD due to Smoking with Covid, you may die within 14 days kung malasin ka..

To just do comparison then label this as less harmful or treat this as mere statistical is dangerous. 4000 out of 80000 dead, do the math and extrapolate. the danger of a virus like this is that it might put us in a false sense of complacency if we just say its just like colds or like ordinary flu. Put a face in those statistics and imagine of one of those is a love one or the like. Better not treat this as mere statistics

What really worries me is the, sorry for the word, hardheadedness of some Pinoys. Never disclosing their travel history to avoid being quarantined or just straight up lying during their check up ( kung nagpa check up pa). Which could explain why we have low number of cases so far. Now that testing is free hopefully this would encourage those people to seek help. Because this could really blow up in our faces..

But what really irks me is that some see this as an opportunity to hoard and resell medical supplies. I know some hospitals are out of masks and other PPEs. Some are even forced to perform surgeries using recycled masks. If our health care workers get sick pano na?

@sajubead you're also working in the medical field bro?

After Rudy Golbert, Donovan Mitchell tested positive for Coronovirus. All other Jazz players tested negative. Alam na this. :-)

Especially with around 10% mortality rate so far in the Philippines.... 5 deaths out of 52 positive with Covid...

More than 20,000 US soldiers with their tanks, helicopters and armaments are in ITALY right now? For what? Aren’t they risking their troops by sending them here right now?

The general public hasn’t been informed but thanks to the internet, the news blackout isn’t absolute. Rumor has it this is like a dry run, tagged as Europe Defender 2020, as to how Europe and NATO would react in case of a world war. Really, now? You can’t help but put credence into this theory because the timing can’t be any worse. Italy has just recently formed a sort of economic alliance with China and perhaps the US is getting insecure and threatened. This is simply a geopolitical maneuvering if you connect the dots, and COVID19 is an efficient, dual purpose diversion.

These soldiers are vaccinated and are immune to this virus. No government would risk such a huge number of troops for an exercise akin to our very own VFA. Speaking of which, maybe heads of the states know what’s cooking, and Digong doesn’t wanna be a part of it.
