no doubt. i'm only saying it in jest. altho matt had his share of PG duties as well especially when he is sharing the backcourt with Jazul who prefers playing offball.

it's noteworthy however that phoenix's actual strength is their big guards and their mobile bigs who can switch and guard the perimeter. It is what allowed them to get to the semifinals in the philippine cup. Mac belo would fit right in imo.

Jest or not, that's a very interesting line up because it might just work. Wright, Intal, and Mallari can handle the ball to some extent. Replace Intal with Belo and voila..

interesting move by BW to sign/extend Belo's contract for 3 yrs for 16.2 million

sign and trade...

Blackwater cannot afford to give a max salary to a player. Ultimately, they'll end up trading Belo...

they now can after the meralco and tnt transaction.

Belo should be in Meralco for Hodge but I think they should also get a reliable big either from a trade or the draft.maybe they could also snatch Trollano from Blackwater.

Mac Belo to NLEX worth 20M.. naka reserve na for MVP that’s why alaska didn’t bother to ask..

Hearing Chooks-To-Go has plans to enter the PBA soon if the PBA will allow competing companies in the league.

They have Joshua Munzon, Pasaol, Santillan under contract & could ask the PBA for a concession to have the 3 blue-chip prospects included in their initial roster.

Chooks To Go are playing chess.....

Can't wait for the SMC counter-move. Might as well weed out the farm teams. let only those who have the resources compete.

Until then, we'll have these crap trades.

not really. they have already made their intention before to join the PBA but was denied. so CTG instead backed out and decided to support national team and other programs as well like 3x3 and UP. there is no need for them to join the PBA since they already have marketing mileage with UP and 3x3. and now they will sponsor a conference of MPBL.

PS: i fucking love their honey glazed chicken and liempo. everytime i go home i always eat. yummm.. :D

What are they even doing in the PBA if they're not serious in competing? Making money?

why compete if you can generate millions of pesos from developing and selling marquee players to the two power blocs, I think i was able to read here in IBN before that even business deals are included in trades (i.e. company will supply paint to the other company as part of ta trade package for a player)

It was SMC's fault anyway when CTG had intentions to join the PBA they quickly renamed one of their team's from Purefoods Hotshots to Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok which was a competition with Bounty Fresh/CTG. They also did it before with SMB changing to Petron when Phoenix had intentions to join the league then.

nothing wrong with it since its within the right of the franchise to change its product name to market. its also nice to have CTG supporting 3x3 and UP and Gilas at least they are far away from bad publicity of the PBA.

That's the problem when company franchises are the basic units of the league. Strong domestic leagues are based on independent sports clubs that survive the whims and caprices of businessmen and not on company franchises. That's the congenital defect of the PBA - It was a child of Marcos cronies and their companies.
