a young 6-9 for a shooter....what a load of shit! Gumastos si mikee or regalo ni RSA. Kumita si kumisyon-er Narvasa.

the 6-9 is a model if he continue to be in smb.. and might not be a basketball player in years time..

Its for basketball humanitarian purposes..

i believe he could have been a decent shooter but unfortunate he wasnt given enough touches/opportunities during his stint in GBP. well thats what you get when you have a team mate like romeo.

What's the use of surrounding Pringle and Romeo with shooters if they're not going to pass fo them? So they traded pure shooters like Semerad and Von for bigs who's gonna clog the paint.

whats the use of shooters if you cannot rely on them on defense and fast break..

Franz want mobile bigs..

Yeah but they know what they're getting with Pessumal. He supposedly is a good 3 point shooter who brings nothing else to the table. If youre going to add someone like that at least pass him the ball. He wasnt drafted for his defense or play making ability.

With Pessumal on board with SMB, it made me think that the veteran Ronald Tubid's tenure may be in jeopardy.

Grey and anthony are known to have a ball to effective type of olayers.. ababou is also in global and deferring to von

Tough for AVO and great for Pessumal...

An SMB championship means a grandslam...imagine the windfall in bonuses and incentives that will come with a Triple Crown...

The Comm's Cup title alone meant (according to the grapevine) a 9-month bonus. That means a JMF earning P420k minimum a month earned close to P4M in bonuses alone.

Not really a fan of their front office moves lately. Cant really call this an unfair trade though. If AVO proved to be a decent player they could always trade him back to SMC anyway.

Tubid has to teach Pessumal his pesky defensive moves first. :)

SMB has a batallion of coaches to teach the defensive ropes to Pessumal. This is what the numbers say:

Tubid - 15th season
Pessumal - 1st season

Tubid may be on his way out of SMB by next season.

MVP group might snap him up if he doesn't retire yet. I think he can still contribute to a top team.

GR and Pessumal.. smb is slowly but sure raking young pieces maybe they will be trade baits in the future or maybe their part of rotation or best they are future starters of smb..

Rules can be broken if the deal no one will care of hahah

Grandslam na eh avo..

At least gbp can enlist Guinto again as the cadet member..

was wishing this to happen, at least AVO got out from the shadows of Fajardo and Yancy and gets the chance to shine

no the two conference is his baptismal.. i think this is the right time, he was on the right environment, a very competitive roster and veteran laden group now he will get his break.

He has very low ceiling. Short height, below average dribbling, poor outside shooter, no defense because of bad laterals, no quick first step, and slow. You have to squeeze whatever talent he has to make a player out of him.

Seriously, he should go back to the D-League. Get some burn time there and develop that one skill that he's supposed to be good at, his shooting.

The keyword here is decent, its quite obvious that there's nothing special about him. What I'm trying to say is he could have contributed a little bit more if he was given enough exposure and enough touches and trusted more by his team mate because hes a streak shooter he needs to shoot a little more to get going. Shooters needs to have a lot confidence in order to be effective and GBP isn't giving him enough reason to have one.

I really don't know what happened to Von. He had a decent college career but when he started to play with gilas, he seems to just lost his confidence and never recovered. I saw him practice with the cadets several times. Feet always set, perfect form, miss shot.

Check out our recent episode featuring Maverick Ahanmisi. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLM07OrCC5c

Maverick talked about his days playing high school ball in California and his four years of Division 1 College Basketball at The University of Minnesota.

He then talked about the transition from playing in the US to the Philippines, in the rough but competitive PBA D-League and eventually being drafted by Rain or Shine, where he won a championship last year.

We also talked about Gilas Basketball and answered some fan questions!

Watch and Enjoy!

http://www.spin.ph/basketball/news/jeff-chans-long-rain-or-shine-stay-over-after-trade-to-phoenix-for-borboran-first-round-draft-pick

JEFF Chan's long association with Rain or Shine came to an end on Monday after the veteran shooting guard was traded to Phoenix for Mark Borboran and the Fuel Masters' first-round pick in the coming draft.

Trade papers had already been sent to the PBA Commissioner's Office for final approval, and the two parties expect the deal to push through without a hitch.

Chan actually already attended the Phoenix practice on Monday morning and will have a lunch meeting with management later, a reliable source told SPIN.ph.
