yes because he is a stud..

yes he's a stud but the guy does have the ceiling and the talent to man the paint for them and at the first place why the hell did siot triggered that trade if he will just dump the boy at the bench. nonsense

Mike is his boy he does not want him to rot in Ginebra(given that they prioritize ayjay as a sentimental player and their new acquisition LA) the trade with taha is just to made sense in the commissioners eyes:cool:

Hard truth but you knew Gary D's game it is really one dimensional.. thats why I want him to win the award because Caguioa already has a legacy Gary hasn't just like helterbrand if no mvp to boot with him he will be remembered as a Caguioa sidekick no more no less..

Thats why having a resident team helps players legacy.. look at Jimmy Alapag at example

More than being uni-dimensional, I think David's biggest setback is his age. He's 34 years old and has a few good years left for him. I like Gary David, I think he's the most lethal offensive weapon that we have in the PBA today simply because he just knows how to score. But just how many years of productive mileage can you get out of him? A season or two maybe?

David also has worked most effectively with Bo Perasol as his head coach. With Perasol out, that's one guy in favor of Gary out. But my best guess is that the team most likely to get him is Meralco but the problem is the Bolts are #2 heavy at this point with Cardona, Buenafe and even Mercado sharing that position. And all these guys, like David, would need the ball to be effective.

Instead of trading David why don't they try to trade Miller? The Miller-David experiment obviously isn't working

If David has hardly any takers, I think the worse can be said of Miller. Willie has been a venerable journeyman, the only reason why he's not called as such because he's so talented and has two MVP awards tucked in his belt. But yet, he has played for Red Bull, Talk N' Text, Alaska, Ginebra, Barako (which is really the old Air 21 team) and now with Global Port. That's six franchises already. From the present roster of PBA teams, only the Meralco, Rain or Shine, San Mig Coffee and Petron uniforms are not found in Miller's cabinet of jerseys.

He's a hard sell despite his talent. I don't know of any coach who's willing to handle him - I think Yeng Guiao loves him too much to be put in the doghouse. So ROS won't be a choice as well as Guiao would value his job more than Miller's.

10 rpg and 2 bpg...Lol! You do know only arwind averages in double figures rebounding and that the league leader in blocks is only averaging 1.3 a game right? Hahahaha...he can't even do those things in the amateurs, what made you think of posting that?

Dave Marcelo was one of the top 3 shot blockers (Sudan Daniel and Raymond Almazan) in the NCAA from 2009 to 2011. He is among the NCAA 's leading rebounders (Calvin Abueva and Sudan Daniel) as well during that period. He was the NCAA Finals MVP in 2011 averaging 9 pts and 14 rebs in the Finals.

That's why KMB does not agree with you: he did it against lesser competition. Don't get me wrong, he can be a servicable player but he won't post near double digits rebounding regularly in the pro league.

He averages 5 and 5 plus a few good hard picks and you're good with it already.

And GP traded Casio for him grr.. I don't see them winning many games this season. They should just bench him and let his contract expire, trade David for young talent/picks (and cash), play their young guys, tank(that is if they still have their picks) and rebuild. I feel sorry for their fans. Imagine going from conference finalist to this

"Always aim for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

Not really overhyping him since he already did it in the past. This means that he's capable of it. Sure, against weaker competition. But then again, it's all about taking your game to the next level. So really, it's just a matter of him taking his talents to the next level. So it's not really a matter of "can he do it?" since he's already done it. It's now a matter of "can he do it at the next level?" It's not as if I said that Marcelo will average double digits in assists.

If I'm wrong, no big deal. I believe we have an "eating crow" thread. But with Pennisi and Kramer still in the line-up, I don't think he'll get the chance to play 20 minutes anyway.

Also, I don't think DT understands that quote. If he doesn't average 5/10/2 and ends up averaging just 5/5/1, he came up short but is still among the "stars" as 5/5/1 is respectable already. It's not as if he'll average 1/1/0 with 20 minutes of playing time, which will then be a "thud". What if he sets expectation for himself to average 5/5/1? What if he falls short? He'll be irrelevant. That's the meaning of that quote. Set lofty goals for yourself so when you don't reach it, you still do okay.

Oh, and I believe I'm 1-0 when estimating stats. I'm the one who correctly guessed that Parks will average 20ppg in his rookie season in the UAAP. But hey, I may end up wrong, but 5/5/1 isn't so bad.

Also, just because he didn't average that in college, it doesn't mean that he won't be able to do that in the pros. On the other hand, it also doesn't mean that you'll average a certain stat just because you were able to achieve that in college.

have you heard the red lion syndrome in pba?in the past 4 years, no one from San Beda was able to make it bigtime in the PBA

Seriously? Red Lion Syndrome? Come on. I didn't know that you'll immediately become a scrub just because you're from the RL program. You make it sound like that he immediately won't be able to contribute in the PBA just because he's a Red Lion.

But if you're saying that contributions in the collegiate level won't always translate to the PBA, I wholeheartedly agree. Just in case you missed it, I also said this:

i'm not saying that players coming from San Beda will immediately become scrub.

no disrespect to San Beda
but the history says it a lot

Question: do you believe he is the single best big man in the pba right now? If you don't then what you posted is merely wishful thinkng more than setting high espectations. He's a 2nd rounder for a reason. I'd love for him to get more playing time though.
