Woah. Mon Fernandez now under MVP?

Just to clear things...although I'm not sure if this was done in jest. The Ramoncito S. Fernandez that you see as alternate team governor is indeed Ramon Fernandez - but not the player. Ramoncito is the President of NLEX Philippines and used to be an alternate governor for TNT two seasons ago. His younger brother is my batchmate in HS, who happens to be our batch valedictorian as well.

Thank for clarifying. I actually had no idea. When I read the name, I was thinking it could be Don Ramon.

but having ramon fernandez the player under the MVP wings is not a bad idea after all.

that's the problem...i'm not really that high on capacio as coach...

thats is because they were suppose to recruit junel baculi from barako but the chua's refused to release him at least until his contract expired in a year.. i believe they are willing to wait for junel then that is why they hired capacio as an interim only.

Last hurrah for Yeng Guiao? Future with Rain or Shine uncertain because of political plans
Rey Joble, InterAKTV · Thursday, September 27, 2012 · 4:43 pm

PBA/Nuki Sabio
A crown in an all-Filipino conference is the only missing piece from the championship collection of Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao.

This season, the fiery mentor will resume his quest for the elusive title in a season that he hints may be his last.

“I am totally committed and motivated to give my best shot this coming conference because this might be my last chance to win an all-Filipino title,” Guiao wrote in a text message to InterAKTV.

Guiao recently won his sixth league championship, piloting the Elasto Painters to their first PBA crown in the Governors’ Cup. But with his Rain or Shine contract set to end, Guiao, who currently serves as vice-governor of Pampanga, might seek to leave coaching to pursue higher political office.

Rain or Shine co-owner Raymond Yu said the Elasto Painters coaching job is Guiao’s as long as he wants it.

“We want him to coach our team as long as we’re still competing in the PBA,” Yu said in a telephone interview. “But we don’t know what his plans are. I don’t know if he’s running for public office.”

Guiao joined the Elasto Painters a year and a half ago, turning what was once a doormat squad into a perennial contenders in less than two seasons.

Multiple sources told InterAKTV that Guiao, the son of late former Pampanga governor Bren, may seek a congressional seat in one of the districts in Pampanga.

But whether his political plans will force him to leave coaching, Guiao is upbeat about his team’s chances of winning a second straight title.

“The last championship was an excellent dress rehearsal to winning an all-Filipino crown,” said Guiao. “I am convinced the team is ready and capable of bagging the title.”

The Elasto Painters’ capped a breakout season by winning the Governors’ Cup over the highly-favored B-MEG Llamados in seven games, despite losing the services of star rookie Paul Lee early in the series.

But prior to that, Rain or Shine already displayed impressive form in last season’s Philippine Cup, crashing the semifinals and falling just a game short of making the championship round.

So what happened to Jimbo Aquino? Man, i thought he'll be a bigtime player in PBA.

does it mean andrew jao is getting as per diem if he attends a board meeting :)

Normally, the one who attends the board meeting (by the way, there's one tomorrow in Taal Vista Tagaytay) gets the PD.

But, it seems you're hinting at something about arrangements with andy jao...might you want to share? :D

One thing is for sure for almost 30 years Jao has been involved in the PBA, he deserve this. Maybe even more..

Ross' cerebrality will make him fit the team well. Ross is the type of player who learns fast and adopts to different situations with ease. He may not have a consistent jumper but he does have great ball sense and high basketball IQ to make up for this.
due respect sir but ross is never the cerebral type.He is a physical player who thrives on an uptempo game. From his days in the d league to the pba, he is not comfortable on set plays more so on a triangle half court set. Though he has shown improvement in his decision making. Playing for Cone would put him in a box. Well, lets see how hell adjust to it.

^^ Good point though, but you like his decision making when he manning the 1 despite of the uptempo pace during his very good stint in Pharex and Meralco..maybe not as cerebral as a larry fonacier or mike cortez(who seems overly cerebral at times)..

Fajardo is real, he "struggled" scoring 9 points 12 rbs 2 blks, struggled pa yan. He has good hands and he is like a young Danny I, He is a legit 6'11 and with long arms. ROS is a very good team, Norwood is playing like an import so as Chan.

Fajardo needs to improve his defense especially against Centers that can shoot from the perimeter.

he struggled mainly coz he wouldn't be able to chase down a snail if it stood outside the 3 point line. he's footwork and quickness inside the paint is good but outside of it he is a liability. ros is a matchup nightmare to petron since their bigs can all hit outside shots. let's see how the bgk-ros tiff will play out this sunday...now that should be a good, close fight.
