he just tried to protect himself from a possible fight with adducul who tried to pull taha down after the collision.

The "tapang-kuno" kid al-hussaini threw a sucker punch right in his jaw.Rabeh also did chased the guy after that.
he or everyone doesn't deserve the respect your talking about since they started the scuffle.

it's like this(basing on the video)

1. one Global Port guy shoved Taha to Adducul
2. Adducul grab his foot
3. Taha got up and put up a fighting stance
4. Rabeh came to rescue(lol)

See, if only Taha just stood up, ran to the other side and continue the game hence the point 4 will not happen. If you put up a fighting stance and you are just a rookie, you will get this kind of treatment from anyone.

again RESPECT: this is not WWE who CM Punks(WWE Champion) demands respect from anyone, this is Pro Basketball and even a 10th guy from the bench can ask a rookie to bring his bag or wash his car as a welcome to pros. Mind you this is only the 1st or 2nd game of Taha? If he did this to let say Belga or the old EVill - - we don't know what will happen to him.. lucky him Romel is a changed man.

and again who are these lazy pros you are referring to? Pingris, kramer, alapag, chan, norwood, thoss, tenorio, yap, fonacier?

Or you're still referring to aquino and espino?

probably those players who were not able to develop themselves after a long years of playing.
ps: belga is fat but he's not lazy, back in pcu he only knew how to score the basket in close range, he even had a terrible fts percentage. but look at him now, he can kick your butt with those 3s with consistency.

Taha always had a way of getting under his opponent's skin. I've watched him live a few times last season. He's the kind of player that likes to trashtalk and flop and even try throw a few cheap shots every single game. He needs to change his attitude if wants to stay in the league. I wonder how these vets would react to Abueva LOL

nice marketing strategy for aktv. They are putting back the drama in the league.

para mas maging kapana panabik ang 38th season ng PBA.

Guevarra admited to be the one who made the shove however he had no ill-intent when he did it.

Even at the short time Taha was with Mapua, he really has that "angas" which even a number of his team mates are not comfortable with. But that's what he really is. During the game he was in a series of trash-talking with both Salvador and Al-Husseini. So the "inis" factor got the emotions of Salvador and Al-Husseini and took advantage of the situation when they cornered Taha. Adducul on the other hand got mad when he thought Taha was pinning him down and not letting him stand-up when Taha was only actually trying to get-up himself.

For this is nothing to be alarmed with as this ordinarily happens when the referees are not in full control and let's the players continue with the trash-talking.

On Taha and a number of Fil-foreign rookies, they have to be more sociable with the home-grown locals especially the "elders" to avoid being picked-on.

Am excited when Abueva plays vs Rain Or Shine .... who among the boys of Yeng will teach him a lesson.

Or how about Air21's Wynne Arboleda guarding Calvin hahaha!

I wonder if ROS will trade Tiu for Calvin and Eman.. :D

Sir Nards, I wonder what make Evill tame? He is not what he used to be..

Guiao is now liking Tiu's game which he nows see as perfect with his system and now even in practices Chris is bringing-in his girlie-fans to watch Rain Or Shine, that's a big something which he brings to ROS that other players cannot do. He might not be a Mark Caguioa or a James Yap, but him alone has his own following. There are indications that Chris Tiu's good image would have a positive effect on the marketing of Rain Or Shine products translating to increase in sales.

I do not want the old EVill at Ateneo, with a big potential but soft with no bite and needing motivation. As the Raging Bull he might be disturbingly eratic but he serves a purpose .... he has a specific role to do. For me it depends on what team he is in and what the coach wants him to do. As long as he is doing what he is told to do by his coaches, then he is just doing fine. Some problems we fans have is that we always picture players on a certain way, that they have to do this or to do that, what we forgot is that first and foremost he has to perform the task his coach wants him to do.

Rambol yun pagnagkataon hehe. Calvin isn't the type of guy who backs down.

I wonder if Chris Tiu will suffer the same fate? Even though he looks like a choir boy and isn't "maangas" he has a lot of sneaky "veteran moves" in his arsenal hehe

@sir nards: well Tiu has this Tiu-natics. :D it will be good for the league also.

@thatweirdguy: Tiu has Yeng and Belga to back him up. :D I am really excited on Calvin.

Calvin vs Cardona
Calvin vs Tubid
Calvin vs Araña
Calvin vs Gaco (may mamatch lang)
Calving vs Mark Yee(if only he was still with TNT)

Tiu is 27 yrs old and is considered as a Veteran PBA Rookie

Tiu already got his baptism of fire when Gilas 1.0 played in the PBA. It's safe to say he can take what he can dish "with a smile". I think the international rough housing he got with Gilas 1.0 playing all over the world has more than toughened his hide.

Nardy, do you think there will be some sort of conflict/jealousy when Paul Lee came back in playing form?
I remember during Gilas 1.0, there were issues between the two (Chris Tiu and Paul Lee) on why Paul Lee did not want to join Gilas at that time.
We know that Chris is the leader of Gilas 1.0. Will he carry that attributes in ROS? I think so. So what will happen now when Paul Lee is back, as he is the current leader of this team.

I think you're forgetting Ogie Menor. Now that I'd like to see. San Beda vs. San Sebastian. Both 6'2", probably the same weight. Both like to play physical. Both outspoken. Both short-fused trash talkers. Let's get ready to rumble!!!!!!

Belga's not an even match. He's 2 inches taller and maybe 30 or so pounds heavier. Arboleda, on the other hand, is too small for Abueva. I think Arboleda's only 5'10" or so. But he is barrel chested and very strong too.

well if that happens, it'll be Paul's problem. Coach Yeng would not like such things in his team, if ever Guiao will just tell Paul that this is not Gilas as this is Rain Or Shine, if you think I'm playing favorites get out of my team. To Yeng, all his players are of equal importance, everyone plays a certain role. Even if Buenafe was supposed to be Yeng's favorites, he was not playing well .... so sit and now he is out. You have to remember in all of his teams ..... "isa lang ang bida" and that's Yeng Guiao.

I forgot about Ogie because the two became close when they both were playing for NLEX in the PBA D-League. Unknown to most basketball fans despite the animosity shown on the basketball court among the close basketball friends of Calvin outside of Baste are San Beda's Ogie Menor, Dave Marcelo, Garvo Lanete and Jake Pascual, he'll even invite said friends to join him in a number of "larung-labas" to earn "extra cash".

But if ever Ogie would be set to show Calvin why he was the King Lion before Abueva showed-up in the NCAA. In the NCAA Abueva might be the Beast but in the PBA, Menor was called a Dirty Player by even a person with a reputation named Yeng Guiao.

Remember those Ginebra teams that had Gonzalgo, Distrito, Loyzagas, Isaac, Jarencio, Gayoso, Chuatico, Cabatu, Ong, Locsin, Cheng, De Joya, Dudut????

Man those guys really played physical and intimidating defense and gave really hard fouls.

Even a clean-cut Fil-Am Atenean like Vince Hizon played tough back then. Even the skinny Bal David and the often-times uninspired/lackadaisical Marlou Aquino were playing tough and rough, too. I remember what they used to say back then - "larong Ginebra, larong kalye". Streetball as in raw, rugged, and not just tough but rough.
