Philippine PBA Trades, Releases, Sign-ups, Rumours (vol. III)

if this trade will push through, i will be disgusted with the PBA team owners really.. probably still going to watch the PBA but have lost respect.. why will you trade a gary david, who is the SUPERSTAR of the league, who hasn't indicated he wants out of the team.. who is a very nice and good person, who deosn't have enemies.. who is a good follower?????? for some SELFISH BUSINESS ACT???

again, if this trade happens,, DISGUSTED!!!

in the US, at least the superstars traded REALLY WANTS OUT OF THE TEAM..

between tubid and david..it's not really a fair trade barako should include future draft picks with this one... david was only second with cagioua in the MVP running race then you will trade this guy?? shoot me in the head.. LOL

Of all the 3 SMC teams, Petron may be the only likely place where Gary, not Garry, David can land.
James Yap and Mark Caguioa are "immovable" in SanMig Coffee and BGSM teams, respectively.

LOL wala na syang ispasyo sa petron... almost all of them in petron are superstars..it's like a national team already..and besides if lutz and marcio will come back imagine yeo, lutz, marcio and david dividing their time...ohohohoho..not acceptable for david as david can and wants to play for almost 48 minutes... it's better if david can go to meralco..and see if he can bring his magic to the bolts... excited much.. ;)

HUH?? so gian chiu will not be in the san mig coffee line up?? and i thought coach tim is gonna nurture GIAn, i still don't know sir nards as i still haven't seen Gian play but by the looks of it.. i think he must improve his muscle tone and power first... i read somewhere else that coaches didn't pick him high in the draft coz nobody wants to gambple with this guy and im also surprised becoz of all the mock drafts that's being posted in interaktv this guy was supposed to be picked within 2 rounds... but i think with menk and asi with him in the ABL maybe asi and menk can get this guy into the gym and do sme workouts... this news sir nards ..i only heard it from you a really reliable source..but well goodluck to GIAN chiu.. i hope he improves his game so he can go back in the PBA..sayang angtangkad pa naman... as they said you can't each height right... deym!!;)

for one its not a news as you see its a question. I am not sharing a fact I am asking for opinions.

Sorry... but i think.. coach tim cone can mentor gian chiu just like what he did to sonny thoss...i saw gian chiu in the draft and i think he must imrpove his body..that's the only opinion i can give for now as i haven't seen this guy play right now..im searching videos of him in the youtube wherein he played in the states but sadly i cannot find one.. what i just saw is him playing in highschool when he was still in ateneo..he's good in that video becoz he' only playing guys who is much shorter than him..idont know how he plays right now... sorry i thought chiu is really gonna play in the ABL first... ;)

Gian is low risk high reward kasi for Coach Tim.. and win win for Gian.. I think one thing we cannot take away from Gian is that he is smart enough that he will maximize all the learning from coach Tim...

not just that but he will also be gaining experience with SMB playing in FIBA Asia Champions cup.

am just looking on other possibilities as the problem is that all the PBA teams are already over the 14-man lineup limit set by the PBA. And on top of that they already have existing reserve and practice players

I really feel sorry that many players who are actually more qualified than some of the current overpaid PBA players have no team to go.

The PBA D-League stuck to its 17 to 27 year old age limit giving exception only to the new draft class if let's say the player is already over 27 but was not able to get signed-up to any PBA Team. Then some of the teams have limited slots as the core is allocated to players of the school it partnered with.

The ABL had now set that new Fil-Foreigners must be Philippine Passport holders for at least 3 years so that they'll be allowed to play.

There is no news if the Liga Pilipinas or the PBL will start over again.

There are no Provincial Commercial Leagues that were numerous before.

Hope so as I never thought they'll trade the Number One overall PBA Rookie Draftee last year who helped Powerade go to the Finals. More so after this article came out:

http://www.spin.ph/sports/basketball/news/global-port-first-practice

But they did say, Unless trades that are hard to resist come up .....

Let's see as this other article would not come out if there's nothing cooking:

http://www.malaya.com.ph/index.php/sports/12433-david-not-in-batang-piers-long-term-plans

What could be an offer that would make Mikee not hard to resist on taking.

True. Gary David at mid-30s is a good trade bait if you want ca$h.

It's great that di natuloy yun! Ok lang may trade basta wag lang ma involve SMC teams! Garry David to Meralco is not a problem. But Garry David being traded to Petron, B-Meg or Ginebra is a totally different story!

I'm kinda shocked that the trades talk between SMC and Global Port did not push thru. I thought the reason behind why GP will trade Gary is to please his master (SMC). We all know how Noli boy badly wants Gary in SMC. At this point, I don't understand why GP is willing to trade Gary for Tubid.

My guess is that SanMig coffee is the SMC team in nego with GP based on Tim's request that he wants another gunner aside from James so that the defense will not always concentrate on him.

We've all heard this kind of denial/excuses before, right? Then after a few days...ka boom.

if ever that's what Coach Tim want, I do not think Gary David is the right player, what SanMig needs is a player like Dondon Hontiveros who does not need a lot of touches or a lot of minutes in order to get hot, with Gary he would need a lot of ball touches to be effective and we know that's also the case with James, if they're together, they could not share the ball that much with the others.

I think SanMig right now needs another wingman capable of shooting from the outside and can play defense against the best shooters of their opponents...there's no players' movement at this side of SMC corp., it seems they're still the most balance teams compared to either PBB and BGSM as of the moment, hope they'll continue what they have done last season...chemistry and cohesion will be their main antidote against powerhouse teams!!!

This recent move of Taulava moving to SMB's ABL (below) shows a significant advantage SMC has in having an ABL team, especially in terms of ability
to hoard talent (wheter it be for the future NT or not). You have to remember they used the same advantage (ABL team)to get and keep Fajardo

http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/372516/taulava-moving-to-abl-s-smb

From a NT perspective this is a "tool" and benefit that can use to the hilt. Imagine SMC theoretically can sign players with expired PBA contracts. And place them in their SMC far team to reserve them for NT duties (the ABL has a shorten season for freindly for NT duties). It can even relegate it's PBA player under contract to the SMB team to rest them for NT duties. (e.g Lasssiter , Lutz in 2015 ). This "tool" is something MVP does not have at his disposal to use.

^But that is one costly "tool". Also they can't even win against Indonesia even with Fazekas, Crews, Banchero etc. That wasn't a farm team. It was built to win.

i still remember a few months back when snow badua in his radio program Reliable Source asked Team manager Joaqui Trillo if LA/Thoss/Cyrus is tradeable and he deny it. Napamura pa si Trillo just to deny the trade rumors.:)

Of course if the price is right you'll pull the trigger no matter how untradable a guy is. Like if the heat were offered durant and ibaka for lebron they'll agree. Casio for tenorio is a wise move by alaska...no matter what everyone says - tenorio being a hero and what not - la is at the peak of his value right now and getting someone younger, taller and with so much potential for a disgruntled player is the right move. Same with the david situation now...they say he's untradable but if they get offered someone like paul lee or a combination of other young talent (ababou, ellis for example) they'd be foolish not to accept the offer.
