Two players might end up returning
to their respective homes.
There are rumors buzzing that a
LITERALLY EXPLOSIVE PLAYER is
returning home. For it to happen, that
team had to let go of their JAPANESE HERO. The JAPANESE HERO will join
HIGH-FLYING TIGER, who
coincidentally might return to his own
home too.
The HIGH-FLYING TIGER's current team
might end up with this UNDERRATED POWER FORWARD from the team
where the TIGER will end up again.
The UNDERRATED POWER FORWARD
bears the same surname as a star of
the Knickerbockers.

explosive player - danny seigle?
japanese hero - joseph yeo?
high-flying tiger - cyrus baguio?
underrated pf - sean anthony?

so basically two trades: (1) barako to petron (seigle- yeo) and (2) barako to alaska (anthony - baguio)???

is my guess is correct, it makes sense for the aces since abueva should learn to play as SG and not PF or even SF because of his size. and with custodio also on tow, skyrus should go then anthony and espinas will share the pf spot with baracael and dela cruz at sf...for barako, it also makes sense since they are loaded at the frontcourt but relatively weak at the backcourt...petron? avoiding karma by reacquiring a loyal soldier...

wishing the best for erik hoping he could regain his deadly form... maybe or it could we'll just wait this coming season..

What if menk suddenly found his fountain of youth (though its a very slim chance), how would ginebra react to that? Hehe

IF ERIK IS SIGNING WITH GINEBRA...then that only leaves taulava..... wow imagine taulava in china ..it's a nice move but i hope he still plays in the pba as he can still dominate the league because of his conditioning and also because of lack on quality local centers..

So Foshan Daddy Douthit's former team interested in Asi quite possible as bottom placed teams in CBA gets additional slots for Asian imports. Asi is no stranger to Chinese fans

ginebra would probably trade him (along with another player) to a team that would get the no.1 draft pick in next year's draft

and again, are they targeting slaughter? i believe that there's no way in hell that Greggyboy will be drafted by any team aside from TNT.

actually you can judge a person by the comments they make.

as what Matthew 15:18 says: "But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.'"

it implies "What you say is what you are"..

China and ABL clubs beckon as Asi weighs new Meralco offer

A CLUB in the Chinese league and another Asean Basketball League squad have expressed interest in hiring Asi Taulava, widening the options of the free agent man-mountain as he weighs a new deal offered by Meralco.

Taulava's mother team Meralco has junked a previous one-year offer in favor of a better two-year deal for the 6-9 slotman, who his agent said is being eyed by at least three ABL squads as well as by Foshan Long in the professional Chinese Basketball Association.

PBA team Barako had also been mentioned as one of Taulava’s next possible destinations.

Taulava’s agent Sheryl Reyes told Spin.ph that her ward is weighing the best possible option that would be favorable for his family, especially since his wife Anna May is pregnant with their fourth child.

“Asi is currently consulting with his wife regarding the many offers he is receiving. Recently, we received a call from Foshan Long, a CBA team which is interested in giving him a two-year contract to play in China. That’s one option Asi is considering though it would entail a relocation for him and his family,” Reyes said.

The Foshan Lions are one of 17 teams participating in the tough CBA league, where the best players from China play along with American imports.

Reyes refused to divulge the three ABL teams interested in availing of the 39-year-old Fil-Tongan’s services.

Meantime, Meralco Bolts new team manager Butch Antonio said their two-year offer to the 14-year league veteran also comes with other perks.

"Initially, we offered Asi a one-year deal. But later on, we came to the decision of giving him a two-years contract extension instead. Asi asked us to give him some time to think about it and talk about it also with his wife, and we respect him for that,” Antonio told Spin.ph.

Antonio said team management is even willing to help Taulava plan for his post-basketball career, adding the Fil-Tongan may eventually become part of one the businesses that involve Meralco owner Manny Pangilinan.

“Of course, our group has a lot to offer to Asi. In fact, what he did recently in the charity game to help flood victims reveals a certain aspect of Asi. And we hope he would consider what we would offer him,” added Antonio, who also serves as the project director of the MVP Sports Foundation.

Taulava, who broke into the PBA as a direct-hire Fil-foreign player for Mobiline (now Talk ’N Text), averaged 10.8 points and 10.1 rebounds in the recent Governors Cup where he helped the Bolts to a semifinal appearance.

The many-time national player won the MVP award in 2003.

It's a no brainer, Asi should stay with the PLDT group and be employed when he retires. I've read from some website that Abbas and Daghles are getting about $15,000-$20,000/month from the CBA. Taulava should look after his career beyond basketball which MVP group can provide- Just like Gabby Cui former tnt player who now holds a corporate job in PLDT RC.

What Asi can do now is earn $$$ in CBA and then apply for a job later when he resigns playing basketball to PLDT group. That would be a wise move for him.

highly doubt it! If your an employer and your employee left you for another job (high-paying) would you still hire him after rejecting your offer?

i think Asi's reason is valid enough to leave. maybe he is thinking that his previous employer doesn't need him anymore that is why the first offer didn't came when he sought for it.

$20k a month is roughly 900k pesos...more than twice the max salary of the pba and probably more than 4 times what meralco is offering him. it would be foolish for him if he doesn't already have investments, savings and businesses set up for his retirement. heck a couple condos for rent, 4 apartments and a mini stop outlet would net him 100k a month...plus he should have bought insurance investments and/or placed in trust or equity funds...those things he should already have in place since he probably earned so much during his more than a decade stay in the pba. that is if they continue their stay here in the country. they might opt to go back to the states though and continue with a normal life, with a normal job there like what some pba players have done.
