i think de jong wont last in the INDONESIAN LEAGUE......he will be terminated soon as his talent is not that good.....

De Jong played for a 2nd div. league team in Netherlands... I don't know about you but a 2nd div. league from one the best football nation in the world is better than any 1st div. league in South East Asia... :D:D:D

Usually first year would be adjustment and jelling with the team for a player anywhere in a team sports. Lets look at it next tournament.

Oh men I was jumping already when they lead 1-0 but then ended 1-1 in least than 3 minutes injury time. Sayang!

So lesson learned from this match, always cover your back side Azkal team even your leading otherwise you'll get doggied. Bigtime style!

Almost same height with Cristiano Ronaldo, hope he play as smart as him not only producing goals but also creating chances for himself and his team members.

he did create the chance(well timed chipped over defenders) that sends Barsales through on goal and was clattered by the Myanmar goalkeeper. it resulted on a penalty and the Burmese goalkeeper sent off.

Studio 23 will air the Philippine Azkals' match against Myanmar on Wednesday night, ABS-CBN Sports has announced.

In its official Facebook page, ABS-CBN Sports said Monday's match, which kicked off the Azkals' bid in the AFC Challenge Cup group stage, will be shown on the free TV channel on Wednesday at 10:15 p.m.

A replay of the match will be shown on Thursday 3 p.m also on Studio 23.

ABS-CBN Sports, however, said the airing is still subject to some issues.

It stressed that the video quality of the match "is far from the best as it was shot by Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV)."

Earlier, ABS-CBN and the Philippine Football Federation relayed efforts in asking permission from the Myanmar government for a live TV coverage of the Azkals' match.

However, Myanmar, a nation ruled by a military junta since 1962, maintained strict policies on the media.

This was evident after MRTV, a government-owned station tasked to cover the event, was not granted by the higher authorities the permission to beam the matches live via satellite to the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the Azkals are still in Myanmar hoping to top their group.

The Azkals will next face the Palestine Al-Fusan (The Fighters) on Wednesday, and the Bangladesh Bengal Tigers on Friday.

The Philippines, which clinched a single point with the 11 draw against Myanmar draw, will need to bag at least 4 more points to advance to the next phase of the Challenge Cup.

The Azkals have to either win at least their last two remaining matches or win one match and draw the remaining other, depending on the results of the other games in the group.

Background: The past five years have marked a rebirth of sorts for Filipino football. Coincidentally, the Philippines hit their lowest FIFA ranking (195, September 2006) at around the same time Palestine achieved their highest ever ranking (115, May 2006). Since declining to participate in 2006 World Cup qualifying the Philippines has made a commitment to developing the game at the grassroots by fostering a domestic league. The Azkals have never participated in the finals of the AFC Challenge Cup. Their best performance was during the 2008 qualifying tournament where they narrowly missed out on qualification to Tajikstan by virtue of goal difference. The Azkals, however, have recently put together a string of impressive results against stronger sides and have experienced an infusion of talent from players plying their trade in Europe.

Challenge Cup Squad: The Philippines caught an unlucky break when their star striker, Chelsea youth product Phil Younghusband was forced to pull out of the tournament with a pulled hamstring. His older brother (also a former Chelsea product) James is included in the squad and converted a penalty against Myanmar along with the vital away goal in Ulan Bator that clinched the Azkals' place in Group A. Despite some notable absences this is a formidable side that will be boosted by the arrival of AGF Aarhus's Jerry Lucena who represented Denmark at U21 level. There are issues with the chemistry and fluidity of the team and its new additions who have not had time to blend in with the squad.

Key Player: Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge, a reserve player for Fulham, will be key if the Azkals are to get something from this game. The Philippines looked lethargic in the first half against Myanmar but Etheridge put in save after save. His teammates have leaned on him heavily and nearly every result the team pulls off can be attribute to Etheridge turning several key saves. As for outfield players, a lot will rest on the shoulders of the winger James Younghusband. The Azkals have some interesting pieces in ex-Atletico Madrid B forward Ángel Guirado and AGF Aarhus midfielder Jerry Lucena but it remains to be seen if these players are able to make an instant impact.

That's the sad truth. There is no such thing as legit sports fan. We've been surrounded by fantards and bandwagoners. :(

slim chance to qualify to next stage. its a proof that PHL football still have a long years to grow to dominate our closes neighbors but this should not hinder us to just stop. reality check is not a fairy tale story but its the result of their hardwork and passion for the beautiful game. Football is sometimes even the elite big clubs gets an upset loss. we should continue supporting them in anyway and not pull down their efforts.

I wish they win with 3 goals margin next match in case it will count.
