Younghusbands in Indonesia. Looks like Indonesian girls attendance during the games will rise ^^

btw, Something's wrong with the pinoyfootball group in FB. I can no longer find it.... has it been disbanded?

and its a rebel league too:D.. this one reminds me of the rebel cricket league in India and it could attract other Asian players... hopefully, Indonesia's football federation will not ask the AFF and the AFC to ban the rebel league's foreign players from participating for their respective national teams... they already banned their local players of that league from their national team...

i'm guessing indonesia can only take care of its own. it can't influence AFF or AFC from preventing foreign players who play in this so called rebel league when these players are recalled for nt duties. however, if the league itself has problems with asian footbal authorities then it's a different story.

Actually they can request AFF and AFC or even FIFA to do that.. if they argue that the league is not recognize by any federation... it happens in cricket... when India asked the international federation to ban all players of the rebel league from international cricket (and was approved).. all countries banned their players from playing in the rebel league and those who participated [will be ban] from the national teams..

Who cares what the Aquinos think...

Anyway, I check out the Jakarta 1928 FC and they have a couple of Argentines and a Brazilian in the line-up [http://www.jakartafc.com/?show=profile&type=player].. these guys are not even naturalized players.. these are imports... I dunno how strong this team will be but I'll be observing their progress if the Younghusbands decided to join IPL..

I'm guessing its calculus:D.. good luck!:)

Agree to that.. Paulino Alcantara is a perfect reminder of the pre-war period... and he's the greatest footballer we ever had...

yeah calculus, i answered all the questions but not sure if theyre correct, can someone give me an idea about Paulino Alcantara, did he played for the Philippines?

More like the original Azkal since he was also a Fil-foreigner with a Filipina mother:D.

ahh i see, but what matters is he committed his service for the country, unlike some of our fil for athletes today, nagpapapilit pa, haha if not for the $$$ they wont play for us...

hmm... I'd like to say what my take regarding money vs "so-called" patriotism for the Philippines but those issue are discussed in Filipino Basketball section.

anyway here is Dennis Cagara's highlights, basing from his speed and his offensive savy he's a big help if he joins our team for the challenge cup qualifiers.

here's a take on Cagara and Lucena's citizenship dilemma

"You will not lose your Danish nationality if you acquire a foreign nationality automatically, for example by marriage."

Ergo, as both of them are automatically Philippine citizens from birth (via thier parent/s being Filipino) from the Philippines point view (Jus sanguinis concept) , they are one of the few loopholes for getting dual citizenship in Denmark.

When it rains, it pours for Philippine football

By NICK GIONGCO

MANILA, Philippines — Three Arab nations – Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait – have agreed to provide a combined $100,000 annual assistance for the Philippine football team, Philippine Football Federation (PFF) president Mariano Araneta announced on Tuesday.

The aid, Araneta said, is a big boost to the country’s quest to improve and popularize the sport further following the success of the Azkals in the recent AFF Cup where they advanced to the semis for the first time.

Apart from the money, these countries also assured the PFF that they will be willing to play host to the training camps of the Azkals, in their respective countries. The airfare and board and lodging of the Azkals will be shouldered by the host country, according to the PFF.

In a press conference on Tuesday at the Manila Yacht Club, Araneta disclosed that the $100,000 (about P4.3 million) initial funding has been sent to the PFF.

He also announced that the PFF also got a financial bonanza amounting to $150,000 as its share of gate receipts in the two semifinal games against Indonesia during the AFF Suzuki Cup last month. This amount is also now in the possession of the PFF.

As if this was not a boost enough, Araneta added that Japan is also throwing its support to the resurgent PFF with a pledge of $20,000 for grassroots development.

As to the Azkals' much-awaited AFC Challenge Cup showdown with Mongolia on February 9 at the Panaad in Bacolod, Araneta said it is green and go and that the general admission section of the 10,000-seat venue will be free to the public.

Team manager Dan Palami said the sudden influx of financial assistance should only make football grow even bigger in the coming years.

Forget about the ticket KP:D... its free admission for the non-VIP seatings... just get there before it reach a full house..

Anyway, all this financial aids are pouring... I'll bet Martinez is pissed even more.. with all that money flowing waiting for him to put it in his pocket:D
