Philippine Football

I heard Mr. Palami was taking care of his passport, too bad we needed someone on the right back, Anton didn't liked to play right back in the previous Suzuki Cup.

His time will come... it may not be in the qualifier... maybe in the main AFC Challenge Cup tournament...

well most of our player can handle the cold, I do hope Mizuno can make long sleeve kits for the Azkals :)

They should be alright... when you're running around in football field without time-out.. your body will warm up in no time....

It was really a waste of time trying to persuade Mongolia to move their home leg to the Philippines.. its a home and away format.. and Mongolia knows they will suffer or even loss the first leg in the Philippines due to our weather.. and the only way for them to get back in the series is to win their home game due to their weather condition... the purpose of the home and away format is to give fans of both countries a the chance to see their national teams in action not just for one..

Anyway, Azkals need to win by more than one goal margin in the home leg to give them a breather in their away leg in Mongolia

hehehe I notice that:D... even one of the admins in one of the Azkal fan pages (the one not connected to the Usapang Football).. you can tell is a female fan who supported the players but not the game... I don't think its bad... at least they are supporting our footballers not Justin Beiber or Twilight..

I think they know there football .the female admins of azkals main page are from adik, lang sa azkals page. .:D .
our team now looks more of modeling agency instead of a National Football team. .:D

The positive thing about them is that they won't turn their backs when our team loss... simply because they love the players...:D:D:D

Their motto now is "win or lose, it's Azkals we choose because they are so guapo". Lol. :D

Neil Etheridge and Chad Gould on loans for Philippine United FC

Since Philippine United was formed after a succecfully trial in August 2008 to find comming players for the national team and joined a league in West Hertsfordshire in North London in September 2009 , they have got a start , no one would even have dreamed about.

After 16 matches they are the only unbeaten team in the entire league there with 42 points and a goalscore of 74-22 and 31 of them scored by wonder striker only 18 years old Anielo Mone.
PUFC are 3rd in that leage but have played 3-4 matches less than the top 2 team and last Saturday they defeated the second in that league with whole 7-2.

With 8 games left they are expected to promote to Division 1 there and with hopefully an unbeaten record for the whole season.

And now they have got a big help from Neil Etheridge and Chad Gould who has followed PUFC since the start. And last week PUFC Founder and director Leo Jensen had a talk with Fulhams manager Roy Hodgson and as he has agreed that Neil can play for PUFC on a 3 months trial starting from April 1, 2010 and if that succeded he can start for that team for a shorter period when they promote to Div 1. Neil is looking forward to work with his Filipino team mates here in UK.

Also Chad Gould is looking forward for that challenge and he think by playing alongside the new wonder boy Anielo Mone could lead to a new striker partnership for the national team and he is convinced that PUFC will promote to a higher level and he would not deny playing for them in the future.

Before the start of the season Mari Martinez visited UK and monitored the team and he was impressed what he saw. Also on his tour in he visited sevearal manager from the Premier league together with Leo Jensen and those meetings turned out very positive and they have all agreed to do something to help Philippine Football and at the moment Leo Jensen is arranging some friendly matches for PUFC later this year to play the reserve and academy teams from the premier league.

not really a big league... Etheridge presence will help the club more than it help him... but I believe the club is potentially a good source of future national team players if they keep this up.. sort of a feeder to the national team (kinda similar to New Zealand's Wellington Phoenix in the Aussie A-League)... they also have facebook group created several years ago to attract overseas Filipinos... I'm too lazy to put the link here but FB users should find their group page easy..

I've only seen our team in highlights, does anyone know our strenghts and weaknesses? The 2011 Asian Cup kicks off tonight and I want to compare the strength of these teams to ours [to see how far off are we].

Fil-foreign prospects in Frankfurt during their meeting with PFF representatives Dan Palami, Jojo Rodriguez and Paul Weiler. . .

One of the guys is Mark McMahon who flies from Glasgow, Scotland to Frankfurt, a 2-3 hours journey. . . This shows how dedicated some of these guys are. . . Cagara, Schrock, Wolf and others might miss Mongolia matches as their respective leagues' season are ongoing. But comes late May to mid- August, summer break for football leagues here in Europe these players will be available. . . Best course of action now is for Dan Palami to expedite their papers, process their Philippine passports so when summer break comes no more hassles and these players will concentrate on the 1st round of 2014 World Cup Asian qualifier which takes place sometime in July . . .

At least it's honest LOL:D. I find the "please sign up our players because they're great" posts in the various club boards more cringe-worthy.

I actually found it funny when an Indonesian fan posted a please sign up Okto and Boaz message on a Fulham site. Unfortunately, nearby was a "why no love for etheridge?" post... not as funny.

Fil-foreign players will come more handy than local players once they play in near-zero temperature in Mongolia. . . Their bodies are accustomed to Mongolian harsh weathers than local players. . . As reported three Fil-foreign prospects are joining Azkals in their Mongolia matches. They are youngsters Mark McMahon of Scotland and Mark Drinkuth and Patrick Herget of Germany. . . If they'll displace some local players so be it, Philippines needs to send the best side possible, quality must come first before accomodating players just for the sake that they are locals.
