I hope the likes of Jarod Lucas, QMB, Sedrick Barefield and the Duncan bros. may re-consider applying for this year's draft.

the likes of DJ Fenner, Kamaka Hepa, Remy Martin and Boogie Ellis are a long shot due to the fact that they had better/lucrative offers playing overseas.

interesting to see the likes of Jason Brickman to un-retire and re-apply as well.

off-topic: good news to hear that LA De Vera from DLSU are officially invited to had a workout with the Diamondbacks

that kid is something.

still hoping to have a pure blooded Filipino strutting their ware in the high profile like MLB

oh dear!! baseball is really in the DNA of every Filipino but unfortunately ugly politics of yesteryears had resulted to nothing.

Yeah. Guys like Stephen Holt up the quality of the draft. Secondly, the presence of 6'6 and up good players. Only Balti and Ballungay qualify as a good 6'6 and up big for this draft so far. Hopefully that CJ Lane guy joins also. Look at the effect of Bates for Meralco. They wouldn't have defeated SMB without him. Bigs like 6'8 Bates are raising the competition in the league. Quinito is even upgrading his height to 6'9.

Agree with that bro.
I think the presence of Fil-foreign players with good size for the positon that they play help in raising the level of competition in the PBA. We also have to count the likes of Datu & Villegas of ROS as players that would help elevate the competition level in the PBA. Then there's Lucero of Northport & Christian David of Blackwater.

Even if these guys are FIBA ineligible, their mere presence in the PBA helps in elevating the competition level of the PBA which of course benefits Philippine basketball.

personal reasons why opted to stay in RP. wants to be with ailing father..

Gutang is bigger, taller and a better overall player as compared to Cansino. If Juan GDL who is the more superior player who plays the same way as Cansino cant carve up any significant role and consistent playin time in Korea and Japan what more can a lesser player like Cansino do in the foreign leagues. And there are doubts that he actually had any legit offers all I read about was he only got invites to try out just like what Geo Chui got.

Sir RDS,

parity amongst the team is still an onion on that league.

I think one of the things they really need to address to lure somehow lure those blue chippers is to raise the salary cap on all teams.

there's a lot of effective formula on this to make sure that even the small budgeted teams can be competitive even to those with big budgets.

we have to be real that salary cap thing is just for print media but we all know what is going on beyond the curtains.

it's a long conversation if we could talk all the intricate details but one of the simple formula is to let those who breach the cap to distribute some excess to those less budgeted teams

it's difficult to explain thru writing all those stuff but the PBA Grandpas should look at what the NBA are doing in implementing those things wherein the less budgeted teams are also benefiting when those big budgeted teams had some excess.

the recently concluded BOS vs. DAL championship series generated some hot money along the way and those small markets may somehow benefits along the way.

mahirap talaga mag explain but my bottomline here is that there's a lot of way to skin a cat.

those Grandpas has the brains and wisdom despite those old school upbringing.

Parity is the enemy of the PBA keeping its top talent. Many fans want both but thats basically impossible unless more teams get to an SMC/MVP level budget. Whats more important? Personally I think its keeping top talent but I might be in the minority in that belief.

This I say, I think "parity" would be almost impossible to achieve right now. As you guys have pointed out those independent PBA teams don't have as much money as SMC & MVP teams. I think for some PBA fans, tanggap na nila that SMC teams specially Ginebra & SMB, as well as Talk n Text will always have a edge/advantage in terms of quality of talent & depth in line-ups over the rest of the pack. Yan na yung katotohan na willing na nilang tanggapin.

But what these PBA fans only hope or clamoring is that huwag naman sanang masyadong one-sided yung competition in which SMB or Ginebra would look like a PBA all-star team while the rest of the teams especially the farm teams would look like averaged UAAP or NCAA teams. And of course we want an end to those lop-sided teams in which a marque player of Terrafirma who has the makings of becoming a franchise player gets to be traded in favor of SMB in exchange of a ball boy.

Huwag naman masyadong garapal which would be a ridiculous insult to the level of intelligence of some PBA fans.

they should really adjust the salary cap whether they like it or not because that's the trade of this kind of business

money talks is the real deal.

I agree with you. Most clubs in the sports world use all their resources to secure top players. That is true even in the NBA and also with PBA. I mean if we will have a strict salary cap how will it be managed?

Will teams maintain or lower the salary cap to accommodate the likes of ROS and Phoenix? But players of SMC and TNT will now not earn big contracts. Which might result in the exodus of talent to other leagues.

Or let teams dictate the salary which will result in having farm teams but big teams can give a more competitive salary that will maintain those players in PBA.

Hello INTER. Math here. Been months before I visited here?

what did I missed?

For this draft,

I wonder if Fil Foreigns like QMB, Hepa, Remy, Ballungay, barefield, and the likes would apply this year or at least in the next future pba draft.

It will elevate the level of pba. So, nothing against it.

Maybe Sage Tolentino too in the future

I think they will be testing the waters first in Taiwan before they apply in the PBA. If they can pass the legit-check in KBL or BLeague, they probably would prioritize those too.

So its official Justine Baltazar's handler Governor Delta Pineda has confirmed his entry for the upcoming draft via an interview with a local network CLTV36

once he is in the PBA, I wonder if he will be invited to the GIlas pool? hopefully he does well in his first conference and make a good impression with CTC.
