Pba draft 2024

  • Thread starter Thread starter r1ck2
  • Start date Start date
AD is probably 6'9 to 6'10,

KD is similar to KG, listed at 6'11 but probably 7'1 to 7'2, both didn't want to be pigeonholed as Centers.

KD is trolling. He's not 6'9. Back in 2016 when he played for GSW, he indeed stated that NBA officially measured him and his official measurement is 6'10 3/4 or essentially seven feet in shoes.

From CSN Bay Area's transcript of Durant's interview on KNBR.
Speaking to Bob Fitzgerald on KNBR, Durant put fact over fiction when answering the age-old question of how tall he really is.

"Since I love you guys so much, I was recorded at 6'10" and three-quarters with no shoes, so with my shoes on I'm 7-feet," Durant finally revealed.

So, why has Durant been listed at 6-foot-9 for so long? "I just like messin' with people. They just ask me so much... yeah, I just like messin' with people."

Guiao just mentioned that theyre looking for potential talent, also says Balti, barefield and balunggay will be picks 1-3 guess those 3 are an open secret

I do feel Cansino is versatile enough to be a PG in the PBA, but I think he's gonna be the second coming of everyone's favorite undersized wing RR Pogoy. As for Nonoy, I really don't get why it's been proven time and time again that freak athletes under 6 feet don't last long or are nothing more than Joey Mente's at this level and still get drafted... at best Justin Melton where they get a good 4-year stretch after their rookie deal until they get injured and fade into those farm teams. If he can be a Bal David-type who stayed in the league long enough because he can shoot, maybe he doesn't end up like an Encho Serrano taking an MPBL deal. RJ and Jerom can shoot ergo they'll make it as pros... as for Evan? There's just way too many players like him already in the league so it'll depend on who takes him and their depth.

I feel that if you're looking for a PG this is the draft. Heck even Dave can be converted to a PG. As for Nonoy I remember the debacle here when he wasn't included in our youth team. Damn a lot of people were so high on him before even comparing him to a young Castro because of his quickness. Kid still has a lot of untapped potential left. Hope he goes to a good team

wasnt able to follow him in the MPBL, was he allowed to take outside shots?

to answer your question, Vic Manuel

Yea he was. But his 3 FG is not high and he is so dominant on the offensive boards that he doesnt shoot 3s a lot. Probably less than 2 a game. I think his 3pt arch is a bit flat. Something he needs to work on.

I was definitely pushing hard for him, plenty of potential, can shoot, super athletic. If he can honestly just work on his passing he could still be good, I just think La salle didn’t fit his style of play

I saw some pre season games where David Penney suited up for UE, and he was very solid for them. I think he can be really good player in the PBA, he plays like a younger and quicker Chris Banchero.

Case of height-padding or simply inaccurate guestimation. Now that it's official Balti is 6'6 1/2, it's safe to say he's 6'8 with shoes. Kai B. is 6'6 1/4 so should also be around 6'8 on sneakers.

In the NBA, Superstar perimeter players such as KG and KD dont want to be labelled as 7 footer or even close to be seven feet. because of the perception that 7 footers are boxed in to be just centers.

Case in point: We all know KD is taller than his preferred height of 6'9 , but look:

PBA’s height measurement is weird eversince. Especially for imports hahaha

Offensively Balungay has more wing skills . Defensively it’s Balti but it won’t matter as they’ll both be used as 4/5’s in the pba

I find this concerning. The PBA doesn't have many centers of the size and quality of June Mar, Japeth, and CStand, so players like Navarro, Lucero, and maybe Ballungay might have to play 4/5. It's not really going to help guys like them develop in their proper FIBA position.

Players with the profile of Ballungay have to go to the right teams so that they can develop to be a 4/3 rather than a 4/5. They need to go to a team with an established center, and rotation players that can play the 5.

as I said many times before, the PBA should also introduce that In-Season tournament and abolish that Gov. Cup instead.

having an In-Season tournament with unlimited height may eventually solve many issues about teams who are lacking in the 5 position

and at the same time address issues about chemistry and cohesion when several PBA teams decided to play in any Asian Club tournaments.

So ildefonso and lastimosa drops to the 3rd rd/ goes undrafted?

Since Ginebra now owns the 3rd pick, their need is a guard and my guess is Abarientos as a successor to the aging Tenorio.

i will be extremely disappointed if Ginebra will not pick RJ at 3 but Ballungay will not a bad pick either as Jamie will be out of the conference
