PBA 49th Season

With Magnolia's win, Arvin Tolentino should bid his BPOC award goodbye especially if Magnolia will play like this in their quarterfinals matchup. You also need to factor in the Al Chua mafia moves. Last time Northport went up against an SMC team in a quarterfinals, Arvin Tolentino mysteriously got an injured knee and sit it out in that game. Even the pba commentators on that game were clueless on the injury of AT. Will not be surprise if this will happen again vs MAgnolia.

So what will be the excuse if Northport advances. Al Chua mafia moves didn't work because RSA ask him to

Then SGA should not loss time and must reach Terrafirma executives. Whilst they can also ask PBA some concessions such as the privilege to elevate their local players to pro as direct hires such as Abando, Ildefonso, Brickman and if possible Kouame…

just cut ties with Converge already since Pineda wants to toy with that team anyway (becoming coach) and probably never returning to the saudi tournament, no better timing than this.

Charles has done wonders for Converge. I dont think Pinesa has any illusions with his coaching acumen. Even in MPBL he has a guy who does X and Os. This just represents his influence with the team not really coaching per se. Remember the PBA prevented him from sitting in the PBA Board.

Nice win by Converge vs. ROS. The league's best guard trio - Stockton, Heading & Winston, very much a factor last night.

Anybody saw the game? Really weird that the ROS import fouled out. I think they have to fix landing fouls. Some jump shooters jump forward. Their landing spot should be protected. But the 2 calls in these game, Diallo and Stockton basically jumped straight up but stuck one foot out on landing. It is a gray area though. If you allow this you might go back to shooters hurting their ankles on landing like what happened to KQ.

Northport uncorked a 36-21 run in the third quarter and erasing a 14-point deficit at halftime.

Happy to see Northport making it to the semis. Arvin Tolentino & Will Navarro played big in that crucial game last night with guys like Bulanadi & Evan Nelle also contributing. It's safe to say that Northport is Arvin Tolentino's team. How he plays determines how far his team goes, hence this Northport's stint in the semis would be a big test for Arvin of how he responds to the challenge.

With Northport's win, Arvin Tolentino had a vice-grip hold for the BPOC award. He has a considerable lead over Calvin OFtana and Jordan HEading, currently the [NODE="4"]Groups[/NODE] and [NODE="5"]Uncategorized Groups[/NODE] ranked players in the Stats RAce.

like everybody here I seldom watch PBA games nowadays esp. the first games and during weekdays.

good thing there is PBA recap as an option.

anyway, it seems that issues about Dave Ildefonso, the Farm Thing brouhaha and the Royal Rumble moments of their Team Manager

are overshadowed by the impressive run of the Batang Pier.

Arvin Tolentino, Joshua Munzon and Will Navarro deserves to be in the storyline for a possible all-pro SEA Games bound RP Team.

32 yr. old 6'9 Kadeem Jack the former team captain of Rutgers Scarlet Knights and journeyman is a perfect import for the squad.

humors of trading those 3 locals to SMB camp because they are already ripe for the picking is very much unacceptable and pathetic

to the integrity of the league.

the way Terrafirma is doing its transactions in the PBA.

I just hope that Northport's good showing in the PBA won't be shortlived. I just hope that it's current roster, especially its core, would remain intact for years.

I hope my favorite team Converge makes it to the semis.

to be honest I dont see any team getting past TNT, TNT is just way too complete compared to NP Converge RoS Ginebra and Meralco. RHJ will probably Tolentino's biggest challenge one that im not confident he can overcome, if he does hes definitely in consideration again for Gilas. Converge is too thin at the bench to go man to man with TNT's depth though Diallo will probably their xfactor, RoS still lacks a proper a focal point of offense, Ginebra is only marginally stronger with a more tired Brownlee and theyre relying more on RJ on offense.
