Wow. The worst team wins comfortably against the best team in terms of losses. What happened to TNT.

They also lose to Dyip last conference, But won Governors cup title.. It just happens... Just like B league's one of the worst teams Koshiyaga Alphas w/o Kai Sotto beat B league one of top teams Chiba Jets..

Diallo and Balti could not neutralize Junmar so far in the first half.

This is what Balti missed by going to the MPBL, being matched up with a guy that he can't post on and has to rely on the outside shot. There is no other way to score on a guy like Junemar other than from the outside or drive on him. Balti needs to improve his 3 FG and even driving game if he wants to challenge a guy like Junemar and also to be able to up his game on another level.

Wild game! Looks like they gonna give Perez 4 free throws.

Disgusting officiating gifting SMB with a dirty win. Those calls against Heading (Perez foul) and Stockton (who actually made a play for the ball against Fajardo) decided the game.

Pretty strong showing by Converge but a loss. I think they were down in the 4th by 18 or something when JMF got a landing spot foul/flagrant foul and had to sit. Converge was able to catch-up and tie the game. Stockton got a wide open look for 3 to take the lead I think. And he also got a somewhat good look to tie the game. The 4 pt fouls on CJ were pretty weird though. It's hard to take a foul with a guy facing up on the 4 pt line. CJ though gave Converge hope by missing 3/4 FTs. Arana is a big loss for Converge. He gives Converge a strong post presence and a good post defender. That's why it is hard to defeat Converge because he can be a focal point if a local is defending him. Also, the 4 pt shot is a game changer. Heading I think had 2. It was instrumental for their comeback. They couldn't finish though.

Same calls were given to converge

Despite the loss, I'm satisfied how Converge fared against SMB last night. I think Converge showed some character by coming up with a rally in the fourth quarter after being downed by a huge margin. About the spotty officiating, expected na yun in a game versus an SMC team that is struggling.

This is one of the reasons Converge will aggressively lobby Mikey Williams.. they need a closer who can bail them in those situations... Converge lose to both TNT and SMB due to inability to close out games.. Mikey is a proven closer...

I hope either Converge and Northport win the title then become our representative in the EASL.

Don’t ever want to see SMB participate in that tournament again.

But EASL representatives will determine who will be the finalists of AFC.. and SMB is very strong at AFC due to Junmar.. only Meralco, Ginebra and TNT can match up against Junmar led SMB in AFC.. maybe Converge but there are not proven anything yet...

They should change it. EASL is an import supported tournament. The rep should be the best performer in the import conferences. SMB has never been a consistent import conference champ. Yes they won several. But I don't think Coach Leo has taken care of their imports like Cone does with his. I remember an interview of Coach Leo on why Arizona Reid led all imports in minutes played when he was the oldest by a wide margin. Leo said Reid gets paid a lot so it's normal he gets a lot of minutes. No wonder no import lasted with this guy.

I hope it should be, since EASL and BCL are all import laden tournaments.. but Kume picks AFC as qualifiers for EASL for PBA AFC finalist...

SMBeer and most PBA teams who had represented Philippines in EASL is lukewarm and anaemic with their games because their mindset is they don’t get much in return. Remember PBA is built on a premise on increasing visibility and advertising its participating companies’ products. They can’t get that attention in EASL as most of their products are insular except perhaps San Miguel Beer which is no match to Asahi beer and Soju in terms of marketability. Whereas East Asian clubs mainly depend its existence with home city fanbase’ gate receipts, TV rights revenues and local businesses’ sponsorships. Yes they have other sources of income streams.

What compounded or complicate more is PBA’s nature of Manila- centric. Their eschewing or reluctance to try with home and away format is somewhat archaic.

SMB has been an eyesore in the EASL right from the get go. Its performance is a shame for Philippine basketball. Nakakahiya!

At least yung Meralco alam mo may determination to win & is really playing for pride, most of its loses were close games. SMB on the other hand, puro talo na nga, most of its loses were tambak.

Not watched Pba for a while.

Who are the young eligible pba bigs playing well?

Baltazar and Arana?

Carino?
