BREAKING: The Meralco Bolts have tapped Akil Mitchell as their import for the upcoming Commissioner's Cup. The 6-foot-9, 234-pound center-forward is already practicing with the team, multiple sources told. Mitchell has an extensive resume that include stints in the G-League as well as stints in France, Australia, Turkey, among other stops worldwide. Mitchell played most recently for Qingdao in the CBA

This is what we like about coach Tim Cone: he admits his fault/shortcomings & he always give credit to the opposing team. I have been a PBA fan for more than 30 years now & I think coach Tim is among the most humble PBA personality yet he's among the most successful.

I remember in the mid-90's when coach Tim's long time PBA team Alaska Milkmen beat the PBA's all time most popular team in a championship series, the playing coach of the opposing team said like: "Enjoy it while you can"

Parang may sarcasm eh. Its like the opposing coach, instead of congratulating his counterpart & the Alaska players, eh parang sinasabi pa na "Enjoy the championship becoz it would only be short-lived". Coach Tim will never say anything like that.

Looks like majority of the teams are getting imports with 6'10 and above height. As an SMB fan, I would love and always wanted too see this.
Para naman may kamatch talaga si Fajardo.

Purefoods - Ricardo Ratliffe(6'8", 35 yrs old)

Converge - Cheick Diallo (6'8", 28 yrs old)

Nlex - Ed Davis (6'11", 35 years old)

Meralco - Akil Mitchell (6'9, 32 years old)

Terrafirma - Ryan Richards (7'0", 33 years old)

Northport - Kavell Bigby Williams (6'11", 29 years old)

Phoenix - Donovan Smith (6'10", 31 years old)

San Miguel - Kenneth Faried (?) (6'8", 35 years old)

Some of them have legit Nba Experience. Most of them played in nba g league and multiple countries though.

So far, only Terrafirma tapped a legit 7 footer in Ryan Richards. Others went with Versatile 6'8-6'10" Players.

I need to research each one of them to see who has the best resume

I hope this is the beginning of Terrafirma being a farm team to all, not just SMC lol. If there's big money involve, hindi na siguro sila mag-iinarte sa mga team.

Better for them (alongside blackwater and Northport) to sell their franchise to the serious owners who are willing to invest in the PBA.. they are the main reasons why PBA is in their dark side of the popularity nowadays...

im guessing this increases the chance of Heading going to Gilas, whats Abando up to these days? for a guy who relies alot on his athleticism he sure is not afraid to waste his prime years.

Maybe he wants to be in a team that wants to win.. not on a farm team.. Abando likely a top 5 pick if he decides to join next season draft.. Unfortunately, 3 of those 5 teams will be the farm teams such as Dyip, Northport or Blackwater.. I'm sure he wants to avoid those teams... Phoenix will also unlikely draft him, They will targeting either QMB or Philips...

Not sure about that as Converge is under Pineda.

It’s well known he isn’t very popular with the PBA board.

Pineda needs to be careful if he doesn't want to end up like Bong Tan when Tanduay was still in the PBA. Pineda seems to be a guy who isn't used to not getting his way, but the PBA board would likely humble him soon enough.

but unlike bong tan, the pineda has a crazy political power base and can make everyone disappear

I dont think it is only Pineda we are talking about. We are talking about also the Laos and Dennis Uy (Pampanga) joining forces because they realized they need to be joining forces for them to have a chance battling the bigwigs.
