Been hearing the names of two ex NBA players as possible imports in the PBA next conference.
Tor-Mem-Lal-Por-Bkn-Uta-Min-Cle

And

Den-Bkn-Hou

Number 1 is Ed Davis
Number 2 is Kenneth Faried

Question is which teams?

off topic, Christian Standhardinger's contract will expire this November. Will he be on the same UFA situation like Troy Rosario since naka 7 years na siya sa PBA?

Will Cstand finally land on the MVP group? I think he still has good 2 to 3 years Elite seasons.

If TNT wants to win this series, it's Oftana and Pogoy should elevate their games.. scoring just only 10 and 9 pts in a finals game is not acceptable since they are best locals of TNT.. RHJ already did their part, it's the locals should do their part too, especially to these two...

Chot just made Oftana a max paid corner shooter. Just like what he did to Troy Rosario. SAd, but Calvin is as good as ARvin Tolentino and yet Chot is holding him back. He seldom has the ball in his hands thats why among all star forwards in the league, he has the least ft attempts. Oftana is more than a 3 point shooter. He can drive and he can post up if he wants to. But for some reason, his teammates only see him as a spot shooter.

I think that is not the case.. last AFC, Oftana have that leverage.. he was grooming as TNT's main guy since Mikey left the team.. All of them just relying on RHJ, they should stop that thinking.. they have to help RHJ if they want to win this finals, especially for Oftana and Pogoy... Both are just afraid to take responsibilities.. I remember last conference playoffs vs ROS, it was Kelly Williams who take responsibility in the dying moments of their do or die game vs ROS.. kumbaga sorry to the term "Chokers" for both Oftana and Pogoy...

Kenneth Faried to SMB or Meralco possibly... Converge, TNT, Mags and Ginebra (who can pay luxury imports) already announced their imports.. only SMB, Meralco and NLEX might land those high profile imports... I don't see Dyip, Northport and even ROS (due to budget problems) can afford those big name imports...

Not yet, the condition is 7 years or atleast 21 conferences before eligible as UFA.. Pringle is a yes, same with Jalalon, because they already completed 21 conferences condition to be UFA, same as Pogoy (but I don't think he will left)... Because of pandemic, we have to decrease the playing eligibility conference of them... Cstand just played only 14 conference in the PBA, unless the league will reconsider the pandemic years that decrease the playing eligibility requirements for UFA eligibility... He also missed his 1st conference because he has contract with Hong Kong that time...

Jalalon played in 2016 right? Cstand in 2017?

How did Jalalon played 7 conference = 2 years compared to the 14 of Cstand if ever Cstand only missed 1 conference?

2020 season was just only 1 conference (AFC bubble) while 2021 and 2023 just only 2 conference.. that was due to pandemic and due to world cup hosting... That's why playing conference were cut short...Jalalon already completed that 21 conferences condition to be eligible for UFA... Same goes to his batch mates (except for Wright because he leaves the PBA, thus his eligibility was cut too)...

Chot have blown (atleast from my recollection) 2 2-0 deficit in the finals. 1 with Coke against TNT and SMB against Ginebra, after this game he added another one in his resume. Talk about living to his nickname “Choke Reyes”

I think its Meralco for Faried. Unless Rondae will play the GLeague which i think he is seriously considering as per an interview. SMB signing up Faried will be an eyesore when it comes to their spacing.

no commitments yet for TNT and Ginebra when it comes to their imports or if they will be retaining the services of JB and RHJ.

The Manimal could create havoc on the entire league if ever he suites up for a team that matches his strengths. Obviously he is super athletic and a voracious glass cleaner. Transition offense will benefit nicely. He will be a prolific roll man specially if the point guard is a lights out shooter. However, Faried is a poor shooter, has shaky handles and is a pretty mediocre defender. Because of this, spacing will suffer so he must be surrounded with shooters. Pairing him with Hodge in the front court would be a problem if the other three guys won't click consistently in the perimeter. Still, exciting times ahead if we can see more ex-NBA guys, preferably combo forwards, stretch fours and agile bigs, plying their trade in the PBA. And hopefully, they can get rid of that stupid height limit for good.

Talk ‘N Text with a substantial lead so far in the first half. Ginebra looks flat-footed as they didn’t know what hit them.

TNT leads 3-2 after 5 games. They'll probably close this thing out on Friday.

What would they do to influence the result and why haven't they done it last year

Typically with SMC teams before, a series would go to game 7. Noticeable are switching of favorable 50/50 calls similar to NBA home/away. GSW, particularly without Durant, was generally weak on the road. At home opposing teams would complain about all the moving screen non-calls. It’s more obvious in the PBA because there is no home and away format. Audience would be baffled by the sudden change in performance. Slightly favoring calls would do that. Like swallowing whistle on contact in the paint. Teams will be forced to settle for outside shots because they are being in the paint with no calls. Then commentator will say they lost because they settled for outside shots without pointing to the reason they were doing that in the first place. Simulating homecourt calls without an actual homecourt is pretty bad.

They should.. playing against Ginebra on game 7 w/ huge crowd is very dangerous... They should finish it now.. and also for Gilas benefit... Ginebra will have better chances next conference w/ Malonzo, Gray and possibly Rosario will play for them w/ this core...
