PBA 49th Season

based on my own personal observation

it seems that ROS mindset was not totally on the game last night

i dunno but i've noticed that they've holding back on something

many sequence they are tentative and reserved

maybe TNT coaching staff's battle plan for this series are more prepared compared to other side

ROS are not capitalizing on their youth side

yes TNT are more experience to this kind of situation but the core of their lineup are glassy

CYG should take advantage of that

in a long series no doubt the Paintmasters has the edge

that is why TNT wants to finish the series ASAP

the lost of Caelan Tiongson may somehow affect the spiciness of ROS

he ain't a rookie no more he is already a vet

RHJ, Brownlee, Durham, King and Fuller makes this Governor Cup more interesting

if only Shabazz was healthy and was tap much earlier, I will also include him in the storyline

if it reach Game 7 which all of us are hoping, ROS will win

but if not TNT will wrap in up on Fri. or Sun

Guiao was a full-time PBA coach given 2 weeks prep time in 2009 and 2018. The disappointment was because of who he had in those teams. Half of his 2009 team would be ineligible with today's rules that started during Toroman's time... also, he had Jordan Clarkson (arriving late) and Stanley Pringle on the same backcourt in 2018 and blew a 4th quarter lead against Korea. He had more time to tinker with Chot's team for the 2019 World Cup given those suspensions (including Chot himself lol), but let's not get it twisted... how they played was never going to beat anybody while Iran was schooling the rest of Asia on how to compete against World Class teams.

I think coach Yeng had about a month of preparation for his RP-Powerade team in 2009 FIBA Asia Championship. I remember that team played in the Jones Cup as part of its buildup. For me among coach Yeng's fault was not choosing players like Dondon Hontiveros & Jimmy Alapag for the team out of personal animosity.

Sorry, I forgot that coach Yeng also handled the ragtag RP team in the 2018 Asian Games with Jordan Clarkson in tow. I don't blame coach Yeng for that team's failure to make it to the semis despite having a Clarkson. That team was assembled at the last minute & Clarkson joined the team only during its 2nd game of the tournament. Kulang sa cohesion ang team na yun & it wasn't coach Yeng's fault.

RoS offense revolves around fuller, if he doesnt dominate, attract extra defenders on the post, RoS has a hard time executing their offense that and TNT's players are very tall and are easy to cover RoS players. One of their guards.. either Nocum, mamu or carracut (lemetti too but it seems that hes well scouted now) need to step up and become this team's main star, they cant just rely on Fuller to carry them. see Meralco with Durham before mvp tier Newsome

From Snow Badua’s FB page

Instead of dividing 12 teams between usual 2 groups, why can't the PBA come up with 2 divisions.

Non-performing teams be relegated to GROUP B, elite teams play in GROUP A.

First round of elims, Group A will play in Manila.

Group B, play in the province every Saturday. That's thrice the cost.

Top 2 teams of Group B will advance to Group A in the second round, lowest 2 will move down to Group B.

Tignan natin kung di magkumahog mga yan para makabalik sa Group A.

Time for the league to reward teams willing to win and 'punish' those that 'don't care'.

Tingin nyo?

thing with punishing teams is that theres a significant cost of paying / maintaining for a PBA team, by its nature its meant to promote / advertise brands. and putting teams in a lesser division will probably shoo away struggling / interested parties for investing on teams.

Guys, if this semis would go to game 7 either the Ginebra-SMB or the ROS-TnT series, & the finals would also go to game 7, tama ba that the game 7 of the finals would be Nov. 15?

i think its on last week of October but tbh I highly doubt both teams would go 7, SMB is already hobbling, RoS got very very productive / lucky when they won.

Guiao knew from the start that his team was overachieving. Thats why he always downplayed their victory back then. Everything they shot went in, then their shots stopped going in and now they are struggling...

I like this finals between TnT & the winner of SMB-Ginebra semis end in 4 to 5 games para naman maka practice agad ang Gilas. I don't care which team wins the Commissioner's Cup title. All I care of is Gilas getting at least 10 days of practice before going to war with New Zealand on Nov. 21.

playoffs basketball truly is different, and i guess props to the coaches and teams for adjusting. The early RJ / Lemetti comparisons migthve been uncalled for haha..

In fairness RJ doesnt have that much pressure. Among guards he is behind Scottie and Holt. Ahanmisi is also there. GSMs backcourt is full of two way players. RJ just needs to come in and be impactful on offense. He doesnt even have to play as much defense.
