PBA 49th Season

Bonnie Tan put Arvin at 2 and Cade Flores at 3. Interesting.

It enabled him to show his bag, that plus bad defense by the other team.

His jumpers were falling. If they put a small on him he just rose for a jumper or backed him down. Against bigs, he's doing the Ginobili move of driving and crossing over at full speed for a layup.

This has to be the highest point total for a local for the past 2 decades right? ( i remember canaleta scoring 40+ as a member of air 21)

edit: oops pringle scored 50 as a member of global port in 2018 vs kia/columbia

James Yap scored back to back 42 pts in 2 straight games in 2007, Terrence Romeo scored 45 in 2015, Jason Castro scored 40 pts in a finals game against ROS in 2015 too and Caguioa score 45 in 2008..

Allan Caidic 79 points. It will be interesting to see how a prime Caidic would be with a 4 point line.

PBA legend and ex-SBU Red Lion Abe King scored 60 points in the late 70s back when there was no 3-point shot back then.

Akari buying one of the farm teams in the future?

Mozzy Ravena revealed that some PBA teams have already approached Akari about joining the professional basketball scene. However, she clarified that there are currently no plans to venture into professional basketball.

“We’ve been approached by some teams but there are no plans at all as of today,” shared Ravena during the UAAP and Akari’s signing of the memorandum of agreement for the arena.

“The focus is really at the arena, as you can see it’s really one of a kind. It’s really something na I think doon muna lahat ng focus,” she continued.

A year before that Bong Alvarez was the first local to breached the 70 point mark by scoring 71 points. Alvarez then broke the single game scoring record by a local at 68 points made also by Caidic on that same year.

A clip of that 60 point game by Abe against against Crispa were Atoy Co also had a 50 point game.

Speaking of Allan Caidic, the guy scoring 70+ pts in one game in the PBA & being among the league's finest scorer & 3-pt shooter of all time won't really mean that much to me if he didn't carryover such shooting & scoring explosion in international & FIBA competitions.

Here are Caidic's video clips among his games in the 1990 & 1994 Asian Games where he buried several triples in each of the games:

If only the current Gilas team has a player who can shoot like Caidic, it would be gravy. Caidic is the type of a shooter who can hit as many as 7 to 8 three-pointers in a game. And Caidic can do that easily. I don't think there is/was any Philippine national team player who can match or eclipse such capability.

Still playing in MPBL. LOL

Utos ng Hari este ni Delta hndi mababali.

Translation: A championship from a glorified ligang labas is more important that a pro career Lol

ROS having a little bit of a slow start against import-less Phoenix just like their last game against NLEX.
