Through the @pbaconnect’s 1st 5 games, players are so far shooting a combined 25% overall from 4-pt range (12/48).

That's why PBA is against the idea of lifting the height limit of import in the Commissioner's Cup & is also against the 2-import format. They know that the advantage that SMB & Ginebra in the big man position would vanished or at least mitigated if those innovations are implemented.

how will it vanish if they can also hire imports without height limit? not unless only the ten others will be allowed to have unlimited height import while ginebra and smb were capped at 6'6"

Former commissioner Noli Eala said it best, the 4 point shot is still not generating enough excitement to bring the crowds and interest back.

Innovation? More like a novelty.

Bro, picture this: a PBA team with competent wings, fours & guards that could match up that of SMB (perhaps even slightly better than SMB), but that team only has 6-5/6-6 centers whom Junmar & Mo Tautuaa would easily outmuscle inside the shaded lane. Remember, despite his age, Junmar seems to be getting even more unstoppable inside the shaded lane.

Now what if teams are allowed to have import w/o height limit. That team with short local centers will probably hire an import standing at least 6-foot-10 who wud be playing as center. On the other hand, SMB would probably be hiring an import playing as a "four" instead of an import who is natural center becoz SMB already has two formidable local centers in Junmar & Tautuaa. With that, ma neutralize yung edge ng SMB sa center position. It would create some mismatch in the four position becoz SMB's import is playing that position while the opposing team only has local players to match up at the 4 spot. But I think the impact of a mismatch in the 4 position isn't as much as having a mismatch in the center position. It's not a coincidence that SMB is the most dominant team in the PBA for several years now. Malaking bagay that SMB has a junmar fajardo while the rest of the PBA teams (perhaps except Ginebra with Standhardinger) has no local player who can match up Junmar. I mean in gave SMB a significant edge that it has the best center rotation in the league with Junmar & Mo Tautuaa.

Hi guys, just got introduced to the PBA and it's been a bit difficult researching the organization and its rules. All of that is to say,

Can somebody please explain how MVP voting works?

I see that percentages are given for the different vote categories, but how are those percentages accounted for when calculating the points? How many media members are actually voting, and why are the stat point totals for the top 5 candidates always equal to 2000? I'm so confused

Will Navarro with 31 pts. as he led Northport to a 20+ pt win over Perafirma. This is perhaps the best game of Navarro in the PBA. Well, maybe it helped him a lot that Perafirma lang kalaban ng Northport. Pang high school level lang siguro ang depensa ng Perafirma.

Terrafirma should disdanded by hook or by crook. They are a bogus group you cant even search about their company in google

Hard for CS to play if the team doesnt have intention to win. Terrafirma/SMC is just mocking the pinoy fans.

that's a pretty good % if true, equivalent to shooting 50% FG on 2PT shots

I still think Yeng Guiao is right about the 4pt shot and after several games I dont feel it added any excitement at all to the PBA games. And despite their discounted prices their gate attendance is still dismal to say the least. And I feel filipino fans are more eager and have more interest to watch the collegiate leagues over the PBA.

When will Cstand will be UFA? When that time comes, SMC has no choice but to accept whenever he goes...even Pringle is serviceable.. he can explore UFA too, since his batch is the 1st batch (2014) of allowing to be UFA and go to other teams...

The reason why NBA and FIBA didn't even tried to have 4 pt line since it was useless and no excitement to be used it at the first place...
