For someone who I think is competitive (at least for his own team), this is absurd. He literally gets promising players and then just leaves them stuck on the bench. The two-import plan is just hype, after all. It’s crazy how he says it needs to be studied but then lets the four-point shot go in easily.

But it's a factor. CBA has 4 imports but only one plays at a time. The reasons are the same.

The plan is having 2 imports only, I don't really see an issue there because it works with Japan BLeague, they even have minutes for the Asian Qouta there. I mean does he really care about benching though? Sydney Onwubere was playing really good before he was traded to Ginebra and got benched, same with Art Dela Cruz with Blackwater before. Ginebra, especially CTC has benching issues but it is understandable because it is part of the game, I just can't see why it is a problem when it comes to having the 2 imports.

I mean it makes sense, though in this case, having them played at the same time won't really hurt at all. I mean yes it could have limit the production of locals production/scoring-wise but it would elevate the game with talent.

And we could use the size the imports provide so that guys like Almazan, Erram, Datu play more 4 in the future instead of being mostly at 5. Need the size to force our bigs to play 4 alongside the bigger guy. We don't have enough full-time centers. We just have June Mar, Arana, CStand, Japeth, and even Bates as starting-caliber centers, that's it.

We have fours with size too. Troy, for instance. BGR, Luis Villegas. Guys like Almazan and Erram can play 4 too. Keep them at that spot.

Besides, I don't really think benching of the locals in favor of imports is a problem because that is literally one of the reasons why Philippine Cup exist, to give more chance for locals to shine.

Are sure it will elevate the talent. Japan did but they have been doing it for such a long time, why only now they have good result. Why china and Korea doesn't have multiple imports with unlimited height that play together before but are not winning against Japan in 2010s. So maybe something else change.

It's not just now that they’re achieving good results; they actually beat Australia in 2019, marking the beginning of their strong run that continues to this day. Additionally, China and Korea had multiple imports even before, and they were still able to win against Japan during the 2010s.

Success doesn't come overnight. Even if it takes a long time to experience success, it's still part of a good process. Japan didn't beat Gilas from 2010 until the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup. They could have beaten Gilas from 2019 onwards if they had matched up during that period. However, before their 2022 matchup, the last time they played each other was in 2018.

Alot boils down to economics, SMC wants the best so they spend more unlike Phoenix or ROS. Not about parity

To prevent the development of our 4/5 players from being hindered by two tall imports, we require one player to be of unlimited height, while the other player must be 6"5 and below.

This way, our 4/5 players will play together with the tall import, while the other import, our wing or guards, will have the same opportunity as our 4/5 players.

This is cheap as for sure; FSA will be the tall import, and the 6"5 below import is the world import. Only Brownlee can play with a tall world import in this scenario (this is to please Al Chua as well, but it is for the short term as Brownlee is already 35 years old).

How many uaap teams with really good fsa are there versus pba teams? As much as we want a diouf or koume for every pba team, this will not be sustainable and pba teams will revert to recruiting world imports or the rich pba teams recruiting blue chip african players and letting them play a season in the uaap, shoulder their expenses for a season - which is also costly if you consider everything.

As much as we want a diouf or koume for every pba team, this will not be sustainable and pba teams will revert to recruiting world imports or the rich pba teams recruiting blue chip african players and letting them play a season in the uaap, shoulder their expenses for a season - which is also costly if you consider everything.

I would require citizenship personally. If you do it through the courts it takes about 7 years if you marry a Filipina.
