PBA 49th Season

TNT gutted it out with a super cramped out RHJ in the last minutes of regulation and overtime.

Props to TNT, khobuntin and Nambatac in particular really showed up. Now watch long hair poach the top pick to complete this Ginebra lineup (assumedly QMB)

Of course props to jefferson, heart of a lion

For tim why fix that something isnt broken.. now you have to build a team now to get that another scorer

will always been written in history that the best import of all time in JB has a kryptonite in RHJ

I feel that not fouling down 2 was really bad. I dont know the advance stats since the PBA has a four point shot but personally the four point shot is even more reason to foul.

So 3 straight titles for MPIC (Meralco last season ,2x for TNT this season) time for SMC to reload its rosters

Also Isaac Go would never really contribute much in this series, i think hes on the same tier as Ralph Cu, useful offensively but a burden of defense.

Tim cone about to feel the pressure. Losing time and time to chot and Gilas is gonna go down a bad path with an old and fatigued JB and an injured Kai

This is probably the most impressive championship of TNT/Chot, no Castro, no Mikey, no BGR, heck you can even add Ray Parks Jr. from that list and the fact that BGK almost had a complete lineup(save from Isaac Go) is simply impressive

they were actually trying to foul tnt on their last possesion, the gins was just too focused on trying to commit foul on RHJ that it made Oftana got away for an easy 2

Both teams got stung injury wise. BGR and Castro for TNT and Go and Gray for Ginebra. TNT probably had it tougher but it was just the breaks of the game at the end of the day. A couple missed layups here and there.

If ginebra would stick to grind out offense they shouldnt even trade for cs...tnt did a great job on making ginebra an offensive juggernaut ( in analytical sense) a defensive oriented one..

I really like this series. Really the top two teams of this conference and non-sister teams at that. I know many fans and the PBA like to hype up the Classico but with SMC there is always the possibility of ridiculous results with sister teams. This is the real deal. The best PBA import for a long time and the current best one. They have good deep lineups and a well balanced roster offensively and defensively but you can't say they are super teams either. They have role-players as well.

JB only had RHJ in the Asian Games but PBA, RHJ has him.

facts, though to make it fair on JB, he is on his way to father time even it looks like it is not. but hell, a pre-pandemic prime Brownlee who averages an easy 30ppg was different. Just sucks that both imports did not be able to matchup on both of their prime

RJ Abarrientos with a Shaqtin’ a fool moment. Didn’t have an idea where TNT’s goal by giving a free lane to Nambatac at the start of OT. Lol

The Letran Squires of Khobuntin and Nambatac killed Ginebra in Game 7.

TNT now on grandslam watch.

Bit interesting to see TNT since RHJ has been the anchor of this team offensively and defensively, alot of that burden would have to go to oftana khobuntin and erram. Oftana in particular needs to dominate.

I think Meralco is still the favourite for all Filipino.

you could argue RHJ’s prime was in the NBA. He has always been a class higher because of that in his resume

I thought Gray looked really solid on the few minutes he played on game 2/3? Then Cone didnt play him the rest of the series
