IN:
Lukas Lekavičius and Zach Auguste are official.

Kenny Gabriel renewed for 3 years.

Vougioukas rumoured.

Gist expected to stay and compete with a Greek passport from November on.

OUT:
Demetris Nichols.

James Feldeine probably already out. Mike James most probable as well (contract already ended).

Singleton looking for an NBA opt-out (until 20/7), otherwise contract is renewed for 1 year.

Fotsis might depart.

It seems that Pascual's arrival has finally brought some basketball sense to the club again...

- There are rumours of youngster Vassilis Charalampopoulos being loaned to paok for the next season.

- Team interested in Thanasis Antetokounmpo to complement KC Rivers in SG position.

- Wednesday's newspaper affiliated to the club says that it has been "agreed" that Singleton will stay unless he finds a 2 year deal in the NBA (tough one says me). Same paper renews confirmation that Gist most probably stays.

Guys, I'm sorry you lost Superfoods sponsorship. Will you get another sponsor?

I sense a thread title, waiting alone in the dark, scared, only wishing to be changed to its official version! Too bad no one cares...

If you look more closely you might see a middle finger lurking in the shadows. ;)

Fotsis might depart. James Feldeine was considered by many the first candidate to depart but still nothing official on him, so who knows. He might have his chances, depending on the outcome of other signings.

Lekavicius got a serious injury due to broken foot in today's friendly match against Iceland.

A broken foot means about 3-4 months out I think.

Can't be that long. Depending on seriousness, I guess he'll be practising in couple of months. Anyway, knowing that it's his first season abroad, it might be huge obstacle for him to find a place in PAO rotation, especially since I wasn't really high on his chances there. Really sorry for the guy...

how did denmon perform in friendly games?

i have told here to some pao fans that they can be relax, he is a very good player and i expect 10-12 ppg from him. what is your first impression?

He had such a great performance in pre season games, but Pascuak didn't actually use him in our first two matches of the year for some reason.

Pana lost incredibly the greek cup semifinal, AEK managed to make the great surprise. So the first title which was won last year has already been missed.

It is clear that the team has problems, I don't understand why Dentmon is still there.

Just read this on the Euroleague site regarding the Panathinaikos-Olympiakos derby:

One of the fascinating things about this rivalry is how it is not territorial or political or tribal. Although Olympiacos is in Piraeus and Panathinaikos in Athens, fans of both are everywhere in the greater Greek capital, and beyond that, in the country as a whole and among the extensive Greek diaspora worldwide.

Is this true? I was led to believe on this forum that Panathinaikos are somewhat more middle class and Olympiakos somewhat more working class? Have I been misinformed?

Either way, looking forward to the derby later. The Euroleague needs more games like this.

these considerations about working class and middle class regard the origin of the two clubs and have little to do with the actual society. Both clubs have a lot of supporters in every social/financial level, Oly is slightly more popular but that's all.

Understood, thank you. As in Turkey (and probably many other countries) the original fanbase of each team has diversified over time. Not every Galatasaray fan is degree educated, not every Besiktas fan is working class etc etc.
