NCAA Season 99

  • Thread starter Thread starter Silent Killer2
  • Start date Start date
Your season 99 stats leaders c/o Mr Pong Ducanes

Basing on this, my guess is Amiel Acido should be runaway MVP. While joining him in the mythical 5 should be JRU's Paul Enal, Letrans's George Diamante and Moses Manalili, EAC's Janrey Castillo. ROY is LSGH's Guilian Quines or Arellano's Borgy Reguera(not sure if he played last season)
and MIP should be EAC's Janrey Castillo. DPOY should be Paul Enal, along him in the all defensive team is George Diamante, James daep, Amiel acido and martin pineda.

I wonder if Acido is gonna play college here or continue with his petition and come back later.

Personally i think he'll stay, i dont think he has a lot or any offers there in the states, but we'll see. The problem is his age and graduating class, if he was younger like gemao, he could have pursued it but he's already graduating onto college so it would be harder for him to find schools in the US that will give him the opportunity to showcase himself. He's alresdy 19. His skill set is a must have for any local college team so the offers here should be better for him. If he leads perps to the championships, his stock will just go even higher.

For those interested, I had a converstaion with WinningGuy regarding Tumakbo and basketball clubs in the US in the NBTC thread.

Acido only has about a year left before college. If his goal is US college, he needs to join a multi-racial team to be able to play in the highest-level tournaments with exposure. Prepare for this coming summer and join as much elite camps/tournaments as possible. Who knows, he might get lucky and catch the eye of a coach. But the key is joining the right teams and tournaments.

Is that 1 year left going to a prep school? He can do that but yeah, he really needs the exposure. One thing going for him is size, at 6'4, and skillset, he can play 2 guard, maybe even comboguard since he does have the passing. Unlike gemao who's strictly a pg becuase of his size.

Didn't he just finish grade 11? I was assuming that was the case.

If he is already graduating high school, then yeah prep school is probably the only option. Either that or junior college. With his size and ability, it's not improbable for him to get into a D2/D3, then work up from there. He can attend "Unsigned Seniors" camps/tournaments.

That article was dated last year so he's in grade 12 now so he should be graduating. He's already 19 this year.

Oh, that makes his options a lot more limited. Most americans graduate HS at 18 so coaches will put that into consideration.

He can still attend "Unsigned Seniors" camps, which has some coaches looking for last minute replacements. Coaches who attend that have open spots in their teams, so if he performs well he can get lucky. If he has good grades and scores high in SAT, his chances goes up.

Past that, prep school and junior college are his US options then work up from there (like Panopio).

Congrats!

Didn't know you had a good football program as well.

One of the best outside uaap imo. Just unfortunate for me that my blazers werent able to close them out this year. Hopefully more teams will rejoin next year as this season only saw 4 teams compete. Other than beda and csb, arellano, perps and lycuem had pretty decent teams in history.

It was a good game. It will still be SBU vs. CSB next season. Congrats to CSB as well. Hopefully, together we can make football more popular in the Philippines.

I saw Amiel Acido averaging 4.2 assists per game. Can he play point in the higher levels?

Point forward probably, he does make the right reads leading to assists, but ball handling needs to improve.

Yeah, I just saw. I think George Diamante has the same dilemma.

The thing with acido is, he's also surrounded with guys that are really good finishing. Best case scenario for him, he end up a better version of mark sangco, and thats saying a lot coming from me haha.

Diamante naman i believe, is more of your combo forward.

Both can still improve their bball IQ as well, but hey atleast the athletecism is there

Letran pulling away in the 3rd....just when I thought perps got them figured out defensively. Letran's championship experience winning them this game. I heard 7 will be graduating for the squires.

Both need to go down a position to be able to play in FIBA. Acido needs to go to at least the 2, while Diamante might need to be a 2/3. They already have the speed, but they need to improve their handles. Saw them handling the ball, and not there yet.

Pero kung PBA, Acido can be a 3, and Diamante can be a 3/4.

Perps' defense, weak. And Letran probably just got tired to end the 1st half.
