He should not be the PG of the team. Alloso should be inserted to team A to tide the shortage of PG, if he is still with the program.
Alloso is scheduled to graduate academically. He is just too soft on defense like Dimaculangan.
Sajonia has been playing decent in the preseason especially on the PG role. His natural position is the 2. But Yuri is developing him to be a 1 in preparation for the pros. He is also SBU’s best perimeter defender. This is Sajonia’s final year.
Speaking of PG, SBU’s Fil-Am PG recruit has arrived. Yuri has so many PGs in the pool; Jimmy (2 years), Penny (3), Nygel (3), Marcelo (3), Jamora (4-5) and Dom (3)

Nygel and Penny played. Nygel was coming from an illness. Penny committed a lot of passing TOs in the 1st half. Jimmy was subpar today and Etulle did not suit up.

Jimmy is struggling in this pre-season. He needs to adjust to the physicality since a lot of times he gets into early foul trouble or turnovers

I think Ronrei doesn’t make it. Maybe to the 3-man reserves. He’s not even in the major rotation for the forwards (Bonzi and Zane).
I think Vailoces may play SF first in college. When he was with undersized Red Cubs he was utilized as a SF/PF.
IMO Etulle took the biggest jump and outplaying Bonzi and Zane. And in some games finished as the 5, dislodging Lina and Celzo.

I have seen Ronrei play in the Sulit BB and UBelt, and he’s not the same player before the injury. He has lost a little bit of aggressiveness and confidence.
If Yuri was able to accommodate Tagala last year over Lopez, why not Ronrei since he was poached from CEU. Seniority wise he’s older than Bonzi and Zane. Either of the latter two maybe demoted.

How about Larry Hawkins? That kid is an energizer bunny. This is what SAn Beda lacked last season. An athletic, hard nose, rugged big.

I love hawkins but i think he will only be at the reserves. Too much sf/pf on the line up.

Good replacement for the 2 staglets they lost to jru. One od which was penaverde who averaged 24 a game last season.

We didn’t lose them. The guard lineup of Baste is already overloaded. Baste is just more keen on getting Cuajao than Penaverde.

I think penaverde and the other kid just followed their hs coach who also went to jru as an assistant. Jru is also loaded with guards but atleast he'll also get to learn under argente who plays and has similar size to him. Personally i see the similarities in cujao and penaverde, id just rather have the homegrown kid than a newcomer, but you do you.
