Fil-Am point guard recruit of San Beda scheduled to arrive in the coming days to formally “sign” with the Red Lions. He’s turning 20 and eligible for three years.

I wouldnt sweat the preseason too much. The only time I remember it mattering was when Ateneo was losing every game last season. A few upsets here and there doesnt matter.

Well if you look at it, the ones playing in next man cup which will have its finals tom against eac, all of those guys are expected to compete with returning team A guys(similar to last year, the ones that won the next man cup finals ended up being the core of season 100) not to mention even lead guards, ancheta and torres are actively playing there. I think even liwag played a game too lol so even with a few offseason tourneys, team is keeping it active especially when it comes to training and close door tuneups against other teams.

I think its the smart move considering most of the core is returning so there really isnt a need to join a lot of tourneys, theres no need to fine tune anything or build chemistry. Might even be riskier pa in joining a lot of leagues like Injuries and getting scouted.

Anyways when is filoil gonna start? If ncaa is indeed starting earlier, schedule might clash. I dunno for other teams but benilde will have a selection nightmare for season 101, everyone in that 25 man pool linedup in pinoyliga is good enough for a spot in team A.
 
Is SJ Moore still with Benilde? He's not playing in the AsiaBasket?
 
I really like what I’m seeing from Etulle, he’s doing things I expected from Puno.
 
Janti Miller is for real! Early rookie-mvp candidate, Beda is different coming this season 101. Redemption season. Let’s see what Benilde and Mapua will do now they see a glimpse of what Beda will be this coming season.
 
Damn asiabasket doing no favors for benilde lmao. Scheduling back to back games even with benilde already having a title game in pinoyliga scheduled today before hand.

Coaching staff should have just divided the team in 2. Have the team A guys play in asiabasket, and the transferees for next man cup.
 
Castillo of EAC really embracing the Kobe persona. Same jersey number, same swag, same movement, the forearm sleeve and even the fist pump celebration. He's too young to have watched prime Kobe so he must have watched a lot of old clips.

It takes guts to play like that because it tends to hype opponents. It worked in the finals though because Celis lost his cool and screamed at his face after blocking him. That technical foul was pivotal.
 
As ive said before if Janti wants to score 50-60pts he can do it. He will be a walking mismatch at two spot. Red Lions first five or strong five should be Janti, Jom, Yuks then the PG and C is up for grabs.

Then you have to wonder why DLSU Perpetual had to resched their Quarterfinal matchup as only 3 games played earlier for Asiabasket

His ceiling is way higher than Gurtiza and Pagsanjan IMO. Coach Jerson got his go to guy for season 101.

Partida pa na checking his interviews sa podcasts he doesnt even scout his opponents. He doesnt even know and even watched season 100 last season.

Actually earlier his game was a glimpse on what he can do. Medyo relax relax pa mga tira niya. His mid range is close to automatic. Yuri should utilize him on the two spot in s101. How can the likes of cuenco, ynot or any two spot in the ncaa defend him? He have speed, athleticism, height. If Janti can be consistent like this he could bring us back in the finals.
 
Janti, if he plays consistently like this, could possibly become the most explosive NCAA player in recent years. Can possibly become the best pound-for-pound player in the league as well or in the whole collegiate tournament here.

With him getting much of the opposing teams defensive schemes, this could open up opportunities to other players as well like Yuki, Bryan, and Jomel.
 
Only saw janti's highlights he did a great job attacking benilde's defense. Much improved performance for him compared to when they first faced off in sulit bbi last year. Even bigger wings like celis and ondoa wasnt able to contain him well, but they could have done a better job in sticking with him thru switches and screens. I think the only way to slow him down is to have one dedicated defender on the floor shadow him all game long. Make him uncomfortable to make him commit to's. Thats what benilde did in sulit.

Exactly. I think Jai reyes has some something against with charles tiu loljk. Still good showing in both games. Ynot and sanchez are still not playing and considering the same lineup played in both games today, and the game against feu yesterday, theres gotta be a lot of tired legs already by the time they faced eac. Thats 3 games 2 days.

Imho he is not familiar with pinoy basketball that time so i think he is adjusting then.
 
The last two winners of the Pinoyliga Next Man Cup went on to win the NCAA chip, San Beda in 2023 and Mapua last year. Can EAC win it this year in the NCAA?

EAC was SBU Team Behold’s replacement in the Next Man Cup. Team Behold could have easily barged into the Finals. But team management decided to withdraw from that Team B tournament.

SJ Moore logged in only 9 minutes for CSB and contributed 12 points according to stats. Why the limited minutes? Is he injured?
