NCAA season 101

That’s a fair perspective, survival and opportunity often outweigh loyalty, especially for athletes from humble beginnings. Money can be a game-changer, providing security for themselves and their families. However, this also raises concerns about the integrity of college sports. If recruitment becomes purely a bidding war, it undermines the essence of school-based competition.

The real issue isn’t the athletes taking better offers, it’s the system that allows unchecked financial influence to dictate where talents go. Until there’s proper regulation and transparency, this will continue to be a game of “who can pay more,” rather than who develops athletes the best.

+1. Mancom should stop this bs

Trying to stop pay-for-play "student" athletes is like trying to stop prostitution, it's impossible.

Even the US gave up. So instead of banning it, they legalized it through NIL deals. I think that is the more realistic way, make it transparent.

Some of these NCAA schools only have a 200 per day food allowance per player. If someone comes in and offers money they’d be selfish not to take it.

I agree. Its the sign of the times. College recruitment nowadays, 80-90% is money related. Thats why alot of folks already scoff at these athletes whenever they say they went to this program since its their dream school. Being in a 3rd world country experiencing inflation every now and then makes the money matters even more pressing from athletes who are mostly breadwinners of their family. On the other hand schools/sponsors really do spend now for recruits to bolster their programs. So it does go both ways.

Speaking of us ncaa, would it be crazy if they ever adopt a transfer portal system akin to what the us ncaa has right now?

I think in a lot of ways we have been "trailblazing" in terms of college basketball. For a long time already, giving benefits to players has been accepted locally while USA only legalized NIL recently. And our less star-studded schools has also been using older or "rookie veteran" players to compensate against blue-chippers. In a way that's what the transfer portal does.

I think our current system should be enough, making it easier for transferring might create more chaos and make the average age of players even much older. We need to develop our players quicker/younger instead of making college teams composed of all "hinog" players. It works in the US because they have hundreds of college teams and are strict with acads.

Is that for real, an NCAA school? That's a monthly budget less than what one team B player might get in some schools.

Even a mid businessman can come up with that amount and be a team backer.

food allowance so basically just for food i’m sure they have more benefits outside from that but point is it’s rough for some

200 a day for real? Even if its only for food, the average lunch with a drink will cost around atleast 120-150. Thats only 1 meal, with these athletes they need 2-3 meals for their nourishment. No wonder alot of these guys take the bag when opportunity comes

I wonder though why the Damasos are turning a blind eye on this. One of the reasons they allegedly banned FSAs is that they were mercenaries who only plays to get paid. These guys are clearly just in it for the bag

Payosing to uaap. Lets wait and see. For me not a fan of him too much drama too little contribution. Last yr a lot of expectations from him but he is the biggest disappointment. Time to let him go.

I’m guessing it’s gonna be UST since he was almost coerced of going there.

Yes he was a big disappointment last year.

In the recent tuneups Pay has been playing behind Janti and Jom.

Brodett hinted on naveen's podcast its dlsu who continuing to pursue him.

Edit: its UP pala haha

Payosing moves to Diliman

UP hits the panic button. Alarcon and Abadiano will be gone next season and Payosing’s only advantage over those 2 is his motor and athleticism.

Torculas should go to SBU for a direct trade. Lol.

Isn't he a 6'2 forward? UP plays big basketball already the way I am seeing it, they have a 6'6 SG SF already with Bayla, incoming 6'5 forward Yniguez, and 6'5 Belmonte. Even 6'5 Torculas had to leave for better opportunities. I don't think being undersized in UP is a thing anymore unless it's on the back court.

Also it will be on S89, he might get to the team B when UP did their usual work of getting blue-chip recruit, how can he compete to the lineup when UP suddenly signs 6'8 Jayden Harper and 6'5 Dasean Brodie? (which are the names being connected to UP) and the incoming bluechip recruits from local scene? lol.

He might went there for money, which is okay, I don't know if it will benefit him in the long run though.

Pay already turned down DLSU last year.

It was UST who aggressively pursued him last year after turning down the DLSU offer,

He was a glorified role player, tried to do to much, by having only a little when it comes the skills department especially when jacob left last year. On the bright side i think he'll fit in at UP. Atleast there he wont be ask to do too much since they already have alot of playmakers and shot creators. Best cSe scenario, i expect his role in up to be off the bench, defensive and rebounding specialist which i think up will need. And hey atleast he'll get a UP degree at the end of it lol

I was only referring to what brodett said in the podcast, when he hinted which uaap team was after payosing, he mentioned a contemder that played in the finals last year. With his history with dlsu, i assumed it was them, i guess it was up all along.

Men call be anti ibner but payosing is the perfect 3 guard whenever you want the usual 3 guard line up up os doing certainly doing tbe reyland torres role..
