NCAA season 101

base on mapua's next man cup lineup, pantaleon,reyno,agamenyi,bancale and abdullah are probably on the red zone?

Reyno should be demoted. Still looks raw even in year 2. Could use the off year to develop himself more. Mapua's big man rotation seem to be set next season anyways and i doubt he'll get meanigdul minutes over newcomers delos reyes and gulapa. Bancale is a surpise but given mangubat's superb rookie season and cuenco's rise last year, he could see himself fighting for a 3rd string, maybe 2nd string guard spot at best. Even if escamis leaves as most of us expect, the arrival of cyril gonzales could still bump him off the regular guard rotation. Atleast he's seems like he's still above abdullah in the depth chart and garcia has also graduated.
 
Looking ahead, Mapua should be in the final 4 at least. Anything less is a disappointment given this line up without clint.

I have them as finals contenders for now, team is still loaded even without escamis. I guess its all on how the transferees will mesh with the key returnees. If coaching staff can manage their minutes, playing styles and 'egos', wont be surprise if they go back to back. Imo benilde and san beda, the next best teams, still has some catching up to do.

cyril for clint, nitura for joaqui, delos reyes for fermin,
gulapa for reyno, macaranas for abdullah. that's probably the change for now. of course depending on the recovery of AP.

Yeah, i agree with this. Tho i think pantaleon, valentin and lazarte are also fighting for a spot. Agamenyi for now is probably safe, unless someone else outplays him bigtime, he should provide some added grit and tougness that all contenders should have.
 
*Mark Anagbogu, Fil-Nigerian transferee from CEU, will not complete the required residency time for S101, he will be ready by S102.

*Based on the latest interview of Mapua Global Support Inc podcast with coach Randy, he gave hints on the current progress of the recruits, Andre Macaranas is still a project but made a big development already, Kendal Valentin is now practicing to be a point guard, of course high praises were given to Gonzales, Gulapa, Delos Reyes, Nitura, Eligado, and willing to wait for the full recovery of Manlapaz.

Newcomer Marcelo bails out jimmy and janti today with that clutch 3.
 
Marcelo kid of SBU had a good pinoyliga game (reminds me of former red lion micah evangelista), i believe he is not yet eligible for s101, how many playing yrs for him?
 
Solid performance by the non uaap/ncaa teams in pinoyliga for day 1. Seems like they caught the ncaa teams by surprise. Had it not for the marcelo three, it would have been 0-3 for ncaa today. May be only against Team b, there's certainly talent outside of the 2 grand leagues. Wont be surprised if some of these guy get recruited by the biggee programs.

that manzano kid from NEU will probably get some offers for sure. not sure about his age tho.

He's a phenom boy if im not mistaken. 6'5 big, turning 22 this year. Former teammates with torres, gaspay and ondoa back in Immaculada. Benilde will most likely get first dibs but wont be surprised to see him go to letran or mapua.

Marcelo showed Jimmy and Janti how it’s done. He did it before against San Beda while playing for CEU, and now he is winning the game for us as part of Red Lions. That kid is clutch AF. He is the only reason why i am considering Letran to be a contender in season 101.

He and manalili were supposed to be letran's building blocks towards their return to the final 4. Phenomenal catch by your team. I feel like jimmy and janti still needs more experience especially in the clutch. Jimmy bricked that open shot near the basket 2nd to the last possession while janti on that last possesion nearly cost them the game with that TO. Tho im sure both should be ready by season 101 starts.

Team will prolly build around jonathan medina and season 99 roy and former letran knight jay garupil after completing residency, eligible to play for season 101. I think they also have some of their light bombers, one of which was part of the ncaa jrs all defensive and team and couple of fil ams stashed in team b. While guys like guiab, arenal and argente still has a year left if im not mistaken tho all can go pro early like what miranda and dionisio did after season 99. They have 4 guys the graduated and so far only star guard mj Raymundo has moved out. So thats 5 open spots already. Expect a rebuilding season for them, last spot in the standings probably.

NEU played well and better today, their key players may get offers to play for a UAAP and NCAA schools.

Half of Mapua players today, played early this afternoon for San Juan Young Knights in the Junior MPBL agaianst Novaliches Play Makers, it was a close semi-finals game. And they rushed from QC to Enderun to catch up with Pinoyliga. (which I think is the reason why the Cardinals had numerous technical fouls because of playing uniform violation)
