NCAA Season 100

  • Thread starter Thread starter Silent Killer2
  • Start date Start date
Letran is going to have excellent wings who are Gilas materials in Art Roque and Sonny Estil for 2025.

Watch out also for Mapua’s wing duo of Recto and Hubilla this 2024 season. They have not shown their true potential this past preseason.

Philippines (Mapua) wins over Malaysia:
Hubilla, Mangubat and Agemenyi did not play (only 10 players can be fielded per game).

Mapua surpasses a slow start.

Team PH routs Thailand to clinch second win in ASEAN University Games

Team Philippines, bannered by the Mapua Cardinals, nabbed their second straight win after edging out Thailand at the 21st ASEAN University Games in Indonesia.

The Cardinals were faced with a nip-and-tuck match in the beginning, only establishing the lead in the latter parts of the game, ultimately defeating Thailand with a dominant 18-point lead, 97-79.

Our Filipino hoopers are set to face Singapore tomorrow, July 2, for its third game in the elimination round.

*Mangubat and Hubilla are on the last stage of recovery for their minor injury.

Bonn Daja was present in Benilde's practice earlier today. He's the elder brother of Bonn ervin currently playing with gilas u17 and dlsz in uaap jrs. He'll have 3-4 years eligibility left. 6'3-6'4 sg/sf. Should give benilde a solid wing rotation in future seasons with zenric jarque 6'4, matt oli 6'2 and gene carillo 6'2.

Looks like he'll still have 5 playing years left, he and carillo should be csb's wings of the future.

Aaron Buensalida’s father already confirmed his son’s transfer to Letran almost a week ago. Good pick up for Letran.

SJ Moore back to Arellano?

Ncaa bound but not arellano. Csb was one of the schools that recruited him out of highschool and could join former teammate jericho jalalon if he pushes through with benilde. As far as i know csb is still interested in him. Though i heard Letran, perps and one other ncaa school is also pushing for him

Hopefully SBU. Personally I prefer him over Sajonia. The latter looks like a retired pro playing in a barangay team.

Couldnt agree more. Letran's new recruit Jimboy Estrada was the better recruit. Better handles, better shooting, more explosive and more clutch. For San Beda to repeat, they need a quadruple effort from Puno, Andrada, Gonzales and TAgle. I see these 4 as the core of the REd Lions. Use to have high hopes with the new recruits especially Sajonia and the CAlimag Bros. But i have seen enough pre season games to conclude, their impact will be minimal to the team. The old reliables must step up especially Jomel Puno who i see is a legitimate MVP candidate.

Payosing is just a hustle guy. He just happened to have 2 good games in the finals as a result his stock went up.

The Calimags are ok but I expected more from them. IMO Etulle and Hawkins will be a surprise this season.

Who's going to be the alpha next season? Payosing, Puno, Andrada etc seem more fit to be complimentary players. We need someone who's going to take charge.

From what I saw, it seems Miles has the potential to be the Alpha. Although I am not sure if he's ready in terms of skill level but you could see his angas already. He demands the ball. He and JC could be our version of Tatum and Brown for S101.

Its still a long way. It took the s99 team until the middle of the 2nd round to adapt and understand the season. The s99 team also has no alpha.

Well, Jacob Cortez was the Alpha in Season 99. I watched a podcast from NAveen where he interviewed JAcob prior to the Season 99 Championship. He said that when Ynot, Sanchez and Cometa transferred to CSB, he felt that he needed to step up. And stepped up he did. During the pre season tournaments where the Red Lions joined, he was the undisputed best player of the Red Lions. He was San Beda's leading scorer and Yuri let him made end game decision for the team last season. There was even a game vs JRU where he hit the game winner. SAdly, it seemed no one is up to the task for this year's Red Lions. Andrada and Jomel PUno are more of complimentary stars, Payosing is hot and cold, Gonzales is still young. So much expectation is on Bryan Sajonia but it seems he is not up to the task. It seemed that his impact to the team is more of a Mar Villahermosa rather than a Robert Bolick.
