NCAA Season 100

I’ve noticed that James Payosing looks like is not in “basketball condition”. Not enough lift in his elevation, outside shooting is horrible and when he finishes it is way off. In some games in the PBA DLeague and FilOil tournaments he is like that. And it’s showing again in Ormoc.

He though makes it up with his hustle and defensive intensity.
 
There was a stretch in the 1st half where beda's defense was elite. Unfortunately foul trouble cut into their momentum. But yeah too many fouls called by the officiating. Only a matter of time tho before benilde gets into their shooting. Good for sbu is sajonia is waxing hot.
 
San Beda is really missing a go-to-guy and leadership down the stretch. They usually have one good stretch but really inconsistent throughout the game. The lack of post option is also a glaring weakness and they can only hope for Bismarck Lina to recover 100% early in the season.

Hopefully these will be addressed within the next few months, otherwise, a title repeat may be unlikely.

No Puno and Nygel vs a CSB team that has almost all their horses plus a FSA and they almost beat them no thanks to the refs, the RLs are doing just fine they just need to find their chemistry and a clear cut go to guy. Side note CSB always celebrates a little bit extra everytime they beat SBU i hope they keep the same energy come season 100

Both teams were missing players. Cometa was out injured and the team chose not to bring in victora or baliquig so the rotation was short. Jarque is also still recovering and even Sanchez isnt a 100% yet. They also chose no to bring in Serrano and Carillo who played regularly in filoil. As for the officiating, there were bad calls for both teams, in fact benilde has been getting bs calls since the nu game last night. What did you in was your team's turnovers down the stretch, you cant to that to benilde thats gonna kill you off the break. Sajonia was hot all game long and disappeared in the 4th. Cant even say ojuola was a factor since he had a hard time keeping with the team defensively. Csb just did a good job of keeping their composure, sticking to their system and not rushing shots. And wins like this will do wonders for a csb team that has a lot to prove.

Ive been saying this for months now, you need a solid big. Celzo, songcuya and jalbuena isnt gonna cut it against the taller and lengthy Liwag and Turco. As for lina, is he gonna be ready for season 100? Of course he still has to regain is playing condition pa besides recovering from his injury
 
San Beda really miss a Jacob Cortez. Sajonia and RC Calimag are just not good enough to be the go to players for San Beda while Yukien Andrada is really just a complimentary star. NCAA SEason 100 is for CSB to lose. San Beda is just not good enough to compete with the Blazers. And worse, Letran will dominate the NCAA after Season 100 with all their elite recruits.
 
Sajonia was limited in the 4th because either Sangco or Liwag was covering him from the outside. CSB could gamble because they know they know SBU lacks inside presence.

To the credit of CSB, their core have been playing together for a longer period, hence, they have better chemistry.

The Red Lions can do without a post up big in the NCAA. What the RL need is to build team character and find its identity. Right now they are just a basketball team going thru the motions. They're playing the CYE system like running a house errand.
When they finally do figure themselves out, NCAA is in for a treat.

SEason 100 is really for CSB to lose. The loss of Jacob Cortez is huge for San Beda. The Blazers arguably are the most complete team in the NCAA. From bigs, to wings, to guards, they have elite players in those positions. They just need a consistent go to guy and Charles Tiu is probably leaning on Tony Ynot and Allen Liwag to share the responsibility.

Richi Calimag did not play also. There are two guys who were not in the FilOil roster that are Team A material; Zedjay Etulle and John Lopez. While I think Tagala and Torres should be relegated to Team Behold.

I’ve been hearing Ronrei is academically ineligible. Is this true?

Tagala and Torres are liabilities on defense. Tagala when he is not shooting well, is practically useless and Torres looks lost most of the time and turnover prone.

Etulle and Lopez should take their spots as the two can become two-way players. I think Bonzalida is also almost sure of a spot given his offseason performance. Hawkins can also make a case because of better court awareness (though could be a long shot at the moment).

I think sajonia can be their go to guy, he can score just about anywhere and has the guts to take it. I see alot of tony ynot in him haha even the attitude is comparable.

Letran will only be as good in future seasons as long as allen ricardo is there. if they change coaches again when delta is finally on board, that could cause chemistry issues with the ricardo led players staying and the delta recruits coming in. Csb almost went to the same problem when they recruited liwag's batch, good thing charles tiu made a great job incorporating the new new recruits to the system and having good solid vets like sangco and cullar(as coach) stick around to help their adjustment and build on the chemistry with those coming back from season 99 (cajucom, turco, jarque etc). Team had solid help too from coaches marvin bienvenida and recently ty tang.

They need defensive presence in the post, they got away with good reads in the passing lanes down the post but csbs execution was caught lacking early on. Once they cleaned it up, they made good shots down there. Teams are not having a hard time pounding it in the paint against them as it is. They're also getting beat on the boards.

Yes its gonna be those 2 but key will be who'll handle the ball down the stretch with them, right now, im liking Jhomel Ancheta for it. He may be the smallest guard in the rotation, but has high basketball iq and superb ball handling. His defense is also underrated and can make big shots too when needed.
 
NU blows out UST. So as it is, CSB 2-0, NU 1-1, UST 1-1 and SBU 0-2. Anyone know whats the format, will there be championship and 3rd place game or will they base on standings?
 
Seems like there is a championship game to be played on Thursday. I assume a battle for 3rd is also part of the schedule. CSB seems assured of a spot in the finals. NU has an inside track to get the other slot because of their blowout win against UST (superior quotient). San Beda might need to win by more than 22 points and pray for a CSB win against UST to qualify in the finals.
