NCAA Season 100

From the looks of it. EAC should be a final 4 contender (for this season only tho) because of their one and dones in Pagsanjan and Doromal. Plus having Gurtiza in his final year. They do not have front court depth tho. Hope Coach Jerson use their juniors program or revive his HCHS pipeline for him to have a pool for recruits.

Eac should still be good next year; they have shanoda(ssc), omandac(lpu) and cudiamat (mapua) coming in next year along with a couple of jerson cabiltes' hope christian boys. Nitura pa nga sana before he u-turned to mapua. They may not be household names but each were solid role players in their former teams. Their solid jrs program lead by scoring machine ej castillo should also be elevated once they graduate. I mean ive said this before, jerson has won with way less and players not yet acclimated with his system. Now they have a new sponsor in jumbo plastic, they should still be in contention when it comes to recruitment wars

The couple of Hope Christian guys you are referring to i think were Postanes, Devara and Jacob (who is also their representative in Hanes 1 on 1 tourney by Filoil).

Jumbo Plastic used to be a big time sponsor of Hope wherein they recruited players who are playing in the MPBL now like Doliguez, Apacible, Rangel et.al. Sana mapantayan ng Jumbo Plastic ang support ng other big financial backed schools like Letran . SBU and Benilde. Or at least also get Hapee Toothpaste who is also a known supporter of HCHS basketball team.

Is there a disconnect between Red Robins and the Cardinals? Seems that no blue chip Red Robin is staying. Four are moving to UE. One each going to Letran and Baste.

Mangubat is the only who stayed. I guess the lineup is full right now and can only offer team b slots. Cons of actively recruiting from outside the program when you already have a standout jrs team.

The family of Aki Valina got the kid a try out schedule for SBU early April.
Never pushed through though.

Glad to see Nathan Victoria inserted in CSB game vs baste.

Nathan was really good back then. In fact he was one of the final cuts in that 2022 U18 Batang Gilas. Even went further than Andrei Dungo, who was an early cut.

The inactivity affected his development. He was SBU Taytay Class of 2022 with Payosing, Alao, Mara, Cajucom. After his graduation there was indecisiveness where to go to college.

IMHO Team management could have done better trying to keep 2nd gen talents for the Red Lions like nathan and abe king's son who went to EAC.
They are Red Lion royalties.

He's been playing for a while now. He debut for the team in psl earlier this year. He developed a reputation of being an in your face defender, irritating opponents in the process, getting lots charges and worse getting hit in every game. Some were flops tho lmao. Not sure if he's gonna make the season 100 lineup(don't have him in my predictions) but the ability to defend multiple positions and playmaking is definetely his calling card.

Michael Mara could possibly end up in UST. Already played for them in a tournament last Sunday.

Highly plausible since he hasnt attended the blazers practice in weeks and he'll join a couple of his fellow phenom boys. But imo, not a good move for him since ust is loaded pa with bigs and him being 6'4-6'5 he's undersized in his position. He should try with ue or even letran. Good luck to him tho.

Similar to serrano who had a tryout with ceu(edson decided to come back), Mara is also trying out with UST. Unfortunately, he is intent daw on moving to another program and he already packed his stuff from the csb dorm.

I think he'll get more chances there. Csb's frontline is deeper while in ust, altho there are a couple of bigs like mahmood, laure, brix, i think mara is better than them. Manaytay is on his last year

Maybe, but all those guys are bigger than mara. He wont work in the uaap as a 6'4 big. He'll just get bullied in the post by the bigger fsa's. If he can slide to a small ball 4, even as a 3 where guys in his size play, maybe it can work but he doesnt have the lateral speed to guard quicker wings nor a reliable outside shot.

In the UAAP, due to the presence of FSA centers, the best bigs have to be able to play the 4. Tamayo, Quiambao, Manzano, Manaytay can play the 4. Even Mason Amos.

Honestly, bigs that are under 6'9" should be trained to play the 4 as a rule.

Is Mara an academic casualty at CSB? Or had a falling out with CSB officials? He seems hell bent in leaving immediately. I thought he has settled at CSB.

Jervy Cruz is also 6’4 and went on to become a college MVP. But I do agree Mara has to add few offensive skills to become serviceable in today’s game.

Mara could always go back to UE where he came from or go to Letran, where there will be a lot of vacant slots for bigs next year.

Heard he was gonna spend a year in team b like what fellow bigs in his batch did(serrano s99 and arciaga s98). And imo, he does need a year off so he could work on his game lalo his development has stunted in recent seasons. Look at arciaga, when he finally played in season 99, he became one of charles tiu's trusted backup bigs; even getting more run than mara. Serrano naman back in season 98 was bad and was nearly unplayable, nowadays after spending a year in team b he looks solid and reliable, and more confident in his game too. So yeah looks like he's just looking for more opportunities and knowing charles tiu, he doesnt stop anyone from leaving.

And i agree, if he moves, i believe he'll be better off going back to UE where he can play alongside momowei or to letran where he should be a lot better than javillonar and most of their bigs.

Yup he was team b bound along with jericho jalalon and nathan victoria. As of now, those assured of spots are, ancheta, cometa, torres, ynot, cajucom, sanchez, jarque, ondoa, oli, sangco, eusebio, morales, liwag and turco. Thats 14 spots, with one more available along with 3 reserves spots. Seems like macoy marcos will get that last spot if he returns, if not, its gonna go to carrillo. While galas, arciaga, serrano, baliquig and vanguardia are competing for the 3 reserve spots.

With the way charles tiu is giving out minutes recently, this would prolly be it. But im kinda 50/50 on marcos returning, as much as i want him back and help sangco in leading the team, they should be fine without him, carrillo is just so much better at this point and his ceiling is higher. I do hope they put in galas too since he put in the work. Same with serrano. Kinda biased naman for arciaga since he usually makes the right play in both ends of the court, not to mention they could use the insurance incase something happens to liwag and/or turco. While guys like baliquig and vanguardia naman have been with team b since 2022 so it could be now or never for them.
