NCAA Season 100

Dapat bantayan ng NCAA itong Letran. Win or lose, panalo mga sugarol every time may game ang Knights. Sino ba ang makakalimot sa nangyari kay REyson. He was supposed to play in their last game in Season 99 vs San Beda. Nagpost pa sa socmed. But a day before their big game, nagpost ulet na hindi na raw sya makakalaro as per doctor's advise so as not to aggravate his injury. But lo and behold, mas malakas pa sya sa kalabaw when he played in the MPBL GAme 1 finals with Pampanga. He was the highest pointer in that game. Delta moves. Imagine what the Pinedas can do sa NCAA. Shades of Paolo Orbeta.

Interesting. I wonder how successful Perps going to be considering UST has been sucky this season. IMO Letran lucked out when Sorsogon gate happened as they were able to build a very good foundation from the displaced UST players while the other schools still haven't recovered from the pandemic. They could have easily lost in 2019 too if it weren't for a few factors.

It's tougher to dominate in college as you can't just buy your way into winning.
 
only in the philippines when a known gambling lord is "welcome" to be involved in sports ... out in the open

in the us and europe such a thing would be unthinkable

Letran players/coaches and accusations of benta. That like a yearly tradition for them.

coach olsen racela confirms negotiations with perpetual. but says no backing from smc on perpetual basketball team.

If i remember it correctly ganyan din sinabi ni Coach Pido the moment he returned to UST. So i think front lang yan “without SMC backing” because from the looks of it they are lowkey playing chess.

is Coach Allan Trinidad still around? I think he is under Gov Delta.

Those under converge maybe and they have letranites willie miller and mcjour luib.
 
who will be the possible head coach of Letran? Allan trinidad? The Delta itself. good luck. i don't see any special in his sytem..Its a more bara-bara plays ala ligang labas...hehe
 
There’s nothing wrong with Delta sponsoring a college team. He has done it before. His players need more exposure to get to the next level. Playing ligang labas won’t help them get to the next level.

One player under his stable is ex Red Cub CJ Delfino. I wonder if he will be brought to Letran. He’s like a Roi Sumang clone when he played together along with Ynot, Amsali, Cabanero back in HS.
 
The entry of SMC and Delta will benefit the league. It will defenitely raise the popularity of the league. Who knows it might be another ABA that will force the UAAP to merge.:p Wishful thinking.

Hopefully it makes the league more competitive, compared to being top heavy in seasons past, thankfully season 99 is a welcome improvement. That still makes 4 teams in the league without major backers; Arellano, lyceum, Jru and mapua.....of those 4, 2 are final 4 teams and 1 almost made it.

Chooks to go, mighty sports c/o the wongchukings, shawarma shack c/o of owner walther buenavista, uratex c/o john rosagas are just some of the entities in my mind that might be capable of supporting ncaa programs
 
I think Cong Dong Gonzales is supporting the Cardinals. Perhaps they can ask their alumnus ( Silicon Valley) Diosdado Banatao to support the Cardinals. There are alot of prominent Mapuans who are more than capable of providing support to the team.

Lyceum on the other hand, has the full support of their owner (Laurel family).
 
snow badua posting a couple new stories. the first is a “questionable residency from an ncaa jrs championship of a player from a winning team”. snow’s second story is that pineda is willing to double the P10-15 million per year support of smc to letran.

Makes no sense for liwag to transfer again, that'll mean another year of residency not to mention if he wants to win a championship, he has a better chance of doing so with benilde compared to a hastily assemble pampanga knights team. Besides, he ain't even kampampangan or a delta boy.

If they're gonna get players, it will probably have to be perps' roque and ferreras or arellano's capulong. Former red cub dungo looks like a delta boy too so he might move there once he graduates. There are also loads kampampangans in both of arellano's srs and jrs team. Over in the uaap, nu's jolo manansala, feu's xyrus torres and Nu bigman Joe Gulapa all hail from pampanga tho not sure if they're delta boys. While green archer rhyle melencio, feu jrs veejay pre, dwayne miranda, 6'7 hans castilejos and baby falcon justine garcia were some notable teammates of dungo of delta's team in psl u-18, some of whom are already with the squires.
 
So 15 m (only) is the support of smc in letran. I remember in 2013 when the rumor about mvp pulling out his support( to ateneo and they plan ( boosters and alumni) to pledge 25 million to compensate on the support mvp gives to the team)..so how much up is spending to their basketball team
 
Do you think coach myk will stay long term in perps? Or smc just retained him so that current players wont leave?
