NCAA Season 100

Game 2 is about a week from now. This doesn’t favor Mapua as last year. Gap should be 3 days before Game 2. It spoils whoever wins Game 1 and kills whatever momentum gained.

The key here is mental for Mapua. While CSB has all the time in the world to come back.

Whats even amusing is that both game 3's, assuming that both finals reaches that is on december 14 in araneta. Imagine having an ncaa game on 2:30, then 3 hours later its uaap's turn haha. Business establishments around the venue will be loaded that day haha.

Contrary to popular belief, mapua has been overachieving all this time, they just collecting second level players and maximizing their potential as a unit...their source of offense is thru CSB misses and turnovers..

This is what ive been saying, a big chunk of mapua's score today came from points off turnovers. And they've been playing like this since escamis came last season. Siguro this just didnt work with san beda last year since either beda was able to force mapua to more to's or san beda took care of the ball better. Against benilde, they did a solid job of forcing a lot of to's and again for team that utilizes lots of passes in setting up their offense, its big trouble. Basically mapua is the antithesis to benilde and that's why even before the season, i already pegged mapua as benilde's greatest challenge for a ring this year. Siguro best way to adjust in game is to play hella lot faster and score immediately if they see an opening.

As for mapua, Never mind the iso plays and the simple offense that they run, their hustle more than makes for it. Tho for me, mapua's players are hella talented too. Escamis will surely be a phenomenal pro, guys like recto and cuenco would also be solid role players in the next level. Even rookies like mangubat and hubilla have a bright future ahead of them. They embody the saying: hardwork beats talent, when talent doesnt work hard.

Coach Randy outcoached charles tiu. Give credit where credit is due. As much talent benilde have, its the teamwork and experience what propelled in Game 1. I believe Game 2 will be a different kind of ball game. I expect a close one and if benilde gets game 2, it will turn the table around and benilde will have momentum. Its game 2 or never for mapua.

Araneta looked decent. Same as the benilde letran finals

Actually the empty seats that were shown in those vids were mostly gen ad side and the upperbox ones infront of the basket which were really undesirable. I was supposed to watch live but upon checking ticketnet the day before and saw those were the only available seats, I just decided to stay at home and watch in youtube for a better viewing experience. But yeah the attendance shown on screen was pretty decent.

Anyways its benilde, we dont have that many alumni nor crazy basketball fans, it aint really "basketball school" per se, infact charles tiu would always joke that most of the fans in attendance were allen liwag's family and friends back which he hilariously called brgy liwag haha.

if the finals attendance was bad, what more the la salle adamson final 4 matchup

Pong Ducanes says since the start of the best-of-3 finals series in 1999, Game 1 winners have gone on to win the title 22 out of 24 times (92%).

LAst year's finals between Mapua and SAn Beda were jam-packed. There were even comparison to how many fans watched the NCAA Finals and the UAAP Finals. Surprisingly, there were more fans who attended the NCAA Finals in Games 1 and 2.

San Beda Team Behold defeated UST 74-57 in the SBB tournament. Ronrei Tolentino played his first tournament since tearing his ACL last year. I didn’t see Peter Osang for UST. They fielded a different FSA who looks like a project.

Beefing up Team Behold are Team A bench guys Sollano, Culdora and Bonzalida.

Sadly, the people I know from CSB would rather watch a regular season DLSU game rather than a CSB finals game. Seems like they want to be associated more with DLSU lol mas IG aesthetic daw

Yes this is true, saw this first hand during my time there. I mean many benildeans would identify themselves more as lasallians, so they would be more familiar with the happenings of the la sallian teams rather than the benildean teams and mind you this was during the time benilde wongeneral championships in the ncaa lol. Anyways things have slightly changed for the better and a big part of that is the recent succes of the basketball team and the current dynasty of the women's volleyball team. Still ill be surprised to see benilde fill up arenas today, even in championship games. Again for a school that only became autonomous in the 90's there's still not enough alumni for the the teams to have a solid fanbase. Maybe in the next 20 years, we'll see better attendance from them, especially since benilde is still growing, already having a another campus in antipolo and soon in davao.

Benilde students/alumni are re-selling their patron/LB tickets to Mapuans for game 2.

In Mapua, you have to monitor the FB page of the school and have your reservation through Google Docs then claim it the next day, maximum if 2 tickets. once the Link is posted in the page, in less than 10 minutes, all tickets are sold out. Some are even monitoring Ticketnet site and will purchase anything available, in any side of Araneta.

While in CSB, there are 3 ticket stations that you can basically walk in and purchase. Some Mapua alumni/students asked their CSB friends to buy for them, event the seats are at Benilde side.

Comparing it from last season, Both Mapua and San Beda are exerting all efforts to secure tickets.

Ive actually seen lots of benildeans reselling in socmed albeit with higher prices. Another reason why i didnt push thru watching live. Tho as for the ticketnet site, the available seats were infront of the baskets, which personally for me is undesirable, tho there's still a 'good' section that was available in the mapua side. For game 2, only available seats in ticketnet are GA.

As ive said i dont expect benildeans to fill arenas anytime soon, maybe in 20 years when theres more alumni. And i get it, this is the best chance mapua has in ending the drought, i mean last time ya'll won, we were still under dlsu, not even an autonomous college yet. History in the making indeed.
