There were red flags for San Beda after they won season 99 that might have affected their back-to-back campaign:
1. The Payosing drama leading him to join the team late
2. The offseason performances where winning seems not their primary goal. Hence, losing the “winning” attitude
3. Also after their US training, I think at least 2 players stayed for a quick vacation (and this is almost at the homestretch of the preparation)
The Season 100 team lacks the pride, grit, and discipline of past San Beda Red Lions team.
As posted way before the team prepared LATE. After the holiday vacation, most Team A (Season 99) arrived late and not in physical condition. While Team B guys like Sajonia, Songcuya et al were in tip top shape. Puno (Canada) and Tagle (UK) had stayed a little bit longer overseas for their holidays. IIRC the first team practice for Team A holdovers from S99 and Team B was February. I think mid to late pa nga.
The Payosing drama also played a role in delaying what could have been an early chemistry feel.
The two players who stayed stateside after the Cali training were Payosing and Royo.
