NCAA Season 100

There were red flags for San Beda after they won season 99 that might have affected their back-to-back campaign:

1. The Payosing drama leading him to join the team late
2. The offseason performances where winning seems not their primary goal. Hence, losing the “winning” attitude
3. Also after their US training, I think at least 2 players stayed for a quick vacation (and this is almost at the homestretch of the preparation)

The Season 100 team lacks the pride, grit, and discipline of past San Beda Red Lions team.

As posted way before the team prepared LATE. After the holiday vacation, most Team A (Season 99) arrived late and not in physical condition. While Team B guys like Sajonia, Songcuya et al were in tip top shape. Puno (Canada) and Tagle (UK) had stayed a little bit longer overseas for their holidays. IIRC the first team practice for Team A holdovers from S99 and Team B was February. I think mid to late pa nga.

The Payosing drama also played a role in delaying what could have been an early chemistry feel.

The two players who stayed stateside after the Cali training were Payosing and Royo.

Cant be too sure yet. They also had a big lead against mapua recently yet still lost lmao.

Oh please, you guys could sit liwag and still win the game. Hahaha.

The lack of team preparation is really biting sbu in the ass right now. We lost cortez right after we won the championship and did nothing about it, they let team B players play most of the off season tourney and it's really showing now.

This should be the first time since season 80 or in 20 years that there will be no san beda or letran in the finals.

Forgot to add the injuries throughout preseason from Ronrei first in November last year to Bismark in January this year, to Sajonia, Nygel and now Jomel. Injuries are part of the game. But it hampers chemistry which is a big necessity in winning games.

St. Benilde vs Mapua is the better matchup in the Finals. Well deserved and both teams were the more consistent squads throughout the eliminations.

Congrats to Mapua and St. Benilde!

again, yuri's system forced the players to be 3pt jump shooters.. and its 1/21 from the arc with 7mins remaining in the 4thQ... libre na sa wings or sa midrange to drive strong, i-spray pa sa corner???

somehow, this stunted the individual plays of Puno, Gonzales, Payosing and Sajonia.. and players loosing grit and becoming soft as well :(

also, selection of players in team A is suspect... tagala, jalbuena, sollano and the other calimag?? over JE, kyle, dawkins, and Etulle..

Are you serious Yuri? Your happy when your team have been demolished? Thats why he has to go.

Yeah that is why we should not let players who aren't ready yet to get into team A. Tagala shouldn't be in team A, i do not know why he is there, nothing special about him. Jalbuena and Sollano aint yet ready. Culdora is a late addition but still made it into team A while Lopez and Etulle who played for team B and played really well did not make it into team A. I do not get it. Imagine if we have those 2 as a backup. Lopez is a scorer at will while Etulle is a much needed slasher.

Sajonia's playing time should be cut. I know I have said it before but that guy ain't it.

Now i think the hardest part for SBU now is to convince Puno, Reyes and Miller to stay in the den.

Puno and andrada already talked to the team that they will forego their last playing year. Thats also questionable the season is not yet over.

Since it’s the end of the season, the sample size is probably enough. But I feel that the players are no longer responding to him. Have seen games even in the offseason where San Beda was blown out. True, the failure of this Season 100
team is attributable to the poor preparation and at times poor coaching.

There maybe some truth to the bolded part. Assistant Coach Andre revealed and lamented that team was dejected after the CSB Round 2 game. He saw it the next day in the film viewing of the CSB game and the subsequent light practice after the viewing. His words were “down”.

This explains why they had no energy in the Baste game. And today they looked like they had no energy, enthusiasm and sense of urgency

Is puno turning pro? Someone in the uaap thread said that dlsu is trying to recruit him

Damn, big blow for SBU. Securing Reyes and Miller to stay is a must then. Beda wont make it into f4 next season without them.

Bawi next year San Beda. And old bedan alums should just shut their mouths next time.

Karma? Haha lol even if its not, it did motivate the hell out of the former bedans. And with the resounding victory and legit 3-0 season sweep, that should already settle things.

Anyways what happened to lina? Liwag seemed to have his way against him. This is the first game i saw liwag score 20 yet sit big minutes.

Maybe the alums acting like absolute garbage affected team morale.

Yeah I guess you can say that. School alums acting like trash can affect team morale.

Congratulations College of San Beda.

Should be Congratulations to the San Beda Thrash. Werent some of you guys bragging you dont need these guys to win? Lol at how that turned out to be. Total season sweep and almost 30 a point beat down.
