NCAA Season 100

I have to question Allen Ricardo’s scrambling double team defensive scheme. Doubling anyone who has the ball even if its at the perimeter to force an early shot or turnover.

That will not work in this era. May be in high school basketball they will get away with it. But in college basketball it’s difficult.

This is what ive been saying. Seems like what allen ricardo's running letran isnt really working. Either because he doesnt have the right personnel or the other teams have already figured them out. This is why he wont be the headcoach for this team next year. For guys like jimboy, they need a better x and o's coach for their skills to be maximized.

That trap is easily broken through great passing and positioning. It will leave a man, and maybe a driving lane, open.

Credit to Benilde for their composure in breaking that trap. In the past, they usually succumbed to pressure defense.

They did a good job adjusting to it. Credit this to the system and chemistry along with the patience to look for the best shot. What boggles me is why allen ricardo didnt make any adjustments.

He reminds of of hawkins from SBU's team B. Only difference i see is that ondoa is more athletic.

Yes. You have to love their motor. The better comparison of Ondoa would be ex Mapua Cardinal Kenneth Ighalo because both are more perimeter oriented players.

Coach Yuri Escueta just won back-to-back championships in the PBA Governor’s Cup. (2023 & 2024) as an assistant. I hope it extends and carries over to the NCAA.

Benilde team b v behold in sulit breakdown basketball today. Good preview for that next5hoops finals matchup.

Raffy Celis would be big for benilde next year. He's gonna be a menace on d and his athleticism should only help on offense.

But man, benilde should really invest in a shooting coach. Both players in team a and b have been atrocious at the line.

Csb v mapua game on sunday will tip off earlier at 11 am. Seems like separate tickets for both games will be sold

I think only the tipoff will change, but the telecast is still at 12 noon.

Benilde cant start slow again like in the letran game, mapua is too good to surrender a big lead like that.

Celis, moore, jucom, nacua, umali, gonzaga and gaspay, too many guys deserving for a spot next year. Then you still have guys like victoria, vanguardia, baliquig and daja who should be in any other team's lineup if they arent with benilde. Gonna be an uphill battle for roster spots next year.

Cardinals reserves for S100, Pabilonia and Fornis are no longer practicing with the team, and trying to look for another school to play.

With only 2 graduating players (Fermin and Garcia) after S100, coach Randy and the staff will have a good problem come off season on who to let go in current Team A line up to accommodate recruits serving residency:

Gonzales 5’10” G from UP (returnee)
Lazarte 6’2” G/F from UST (Mapua Red Robin)
Gulapa 6’7” C from NU
Delos Reyes 6’8” from NU
Nitura 6’4” from Perps
Macaranas 6’0” from US/FDU-Florham
Eligado 6’3” from CEU
Valentin 6’0” from UST
AP Manalpaz 6’4” from AdU/EAC

Escamis is not yet graduating?
He is in the same batch as cagulangan, fornillos, sangco, david (LSGH boys).
Saw them play in the jrs finals way back.

Joe Gulapa (21 pts, 15 rebs, 2 blk) powered Batang San Juan Knights over Rizal Switch Fiber in Junior MPBL.

Most Batang-SJK players are Mapua Team-B

I see san beda's zairose mina, baste's lanz ronquillo and benilde's jericho jalalom also in the team. With jalalom playing double duty after earloer playing with benilde in sulit basketball. Is this league considered an amateur league?
