Heard from a bedan friend that its internal politics. The band manager is apparently an ego maniac and has issues with the current members leading to a fallout between both parties, banning the current members in playing during ncaa games. Band manager ended up hiring outside help to play in ncaa.

Guard heavy even without Escamis, might not play his final season. With Mangubat, Bancale, Gonzales and Lazarte. Choncey Salvador might find a hard time cracking the rotation but hopefully stays as a cardinal

My question to this is why did the school allow the ban of the band? It doesn't make sense to me that a mere band manager could decide whether they can play or not. The head of the school should decide, unless they did something wrong, which I highly doubt.

That manager has been a long time coach from what my friend told me. He coached the swimming or table tennis teams. Even that friend of mine has had an unpleasamt encounter with him in campus, and that was almost a decade ago. So it proves he has been a-hole ever since. As for who decides to play, apparently he has the power to do so.

Hmmm.. the band has presented their side, alleging politics, corruption, power tripping etc.. the administration/band management hasn't presented anything yet to rationalize on how their decision came into fruition (i.e is it financial, streamlining, process improvement???) i guess no one knows unless they make an official announcement as to how they arrive at their decision.. but given that things had already happened without the interjection of higher ups, it must have been well thought of contrary to what is being peddled (also an assumption).. again, i would like to hear and listen to the rationale as to the decision...

Personally, I would restrain in providing judgment or what i think of unless i hear both sides of the story.. i guess that is the fair way or Bedan way of doing things...

I was a member of the SBU band in my sophomore year at Beda and had never met or known that there was a band manager. LOL. Even so, i do bot think he has the right to do what he is doing now.

Anyway, hoping to see more or RC Calimag and Culdora tomorrow.

Whatever it is hope they fix it soon. I mean even as a non bedan, i admire your band. One of those that really goes all out in all games they are at. Thats why when me and a couple bedan friends watched the benilde v beda game. I thought something was amiss. I even noticed that bedan friend being confused with the cheers being played, thats when he told something was wrong with the band.

Im not sure when he got hold of that position, but from what my friend told me seems like he has held a couple of positions within the school before being appointed manager there in the band.

Bonzi should see some minutes too. I feel like letran will go 2 big lineups with both javillonar and santos on the court

I think Bonzi is still recovering so i'm not sure if he can play tomorrow. If he and lina play tomorrow maybe that will lessen my anxiety. hahahaha.

They are messing up the transition from defense to offense and indian yell sounds a little off too.

Yup, you could tell the bedans there in the arena wasnt having it. I think they also added some brass instruments or was it already therr before? I dunno, personally im not a fan of it.

If lina plays i think santos whos recently named player of the week will have a hard time at the paint, while javillonar may just focus on perimeter shots which should be good for beda. Low percentage shots of non shooter + depletes a tall rebounder in the paint that can aid san beda in controlling the boards.

In indian yell, victory song and SBU hymn yeah there is.

I was watching the livestream and I noticed it too.

Add the post up game of Bismarck as an additional scoring option for beda. I think that is one of the missing factor in SBU right now. Celzo and songcuya can't provide the scoring that Cuntapay did last season.

At least Songcuya will defend and has some nifty moves inside. Celzo is really something else. I have seen high school players with so much better post up moves than him. CElzo basically has zero to negative post moves. He doesnt know what to do with the ball and he has the gall to demand the ball inside. Plus he is a very poor freethrow shooter. Very disappointed with the assistant coaches of San Beda. they really didnt do their homework on honing the skills of their big men. I miss the days of Koy Banal, Frankie Lim, Ronnie MAgsanoc and Boyet Fernandez. Red Lions big men were well utilized even with the presence of their imports. Big men coaches like Freddie Abuda, Benjie Paras and Ford Arao really helped improved the big men skills of TAganas, Aljamal, MArcelo, the Pascuals, Semerads, ARt, Adamos, Mocon to name a few.

The last time San Beda and Letran met was in the FilOil where the Red Lions needed the heroics of Josh Tagala (20 points, 6/7 3-FGs) to edge out the Knights, 76-69.

Red Lions are 4-0 vs Letran in the last two years of NCAA play. Letran on the other hand is riding a 3-game winning streak in Season 100.
