NCAA Season 100

With Are's emergence, along with Liwag and Ynot's growth as players even guys like escamis, gurtiza and capulong who are also leading their teams, all former SGL holders, did ncaa make the right move of banning SGL in future seasons?

Personally, the upside of a player's development is what makes me for it, but it does have other pros and cons as well.

Playing up definitely fast tracks a player's development. A school athlete who gets to play pro/semi pro definitely learns a lot. It's like how Filfors get a leg-up playing against bigger, faster, stronger growing up. Playing in the PBL also used to be a right of passage for our college players.

For me, if they meet their school/grade requirements, I'm all for it. That's a big IF though (along with if it will really be implemented).

Is Zedjay Etulle still with SBU? I don’t see him in the new team photo of Team Behold. I would’ve taken him over Sollano in the reserves.

However there’s a new face in Team Behold, 6’5 Juju Dayrit from UST.

Yuri taking that free throw after the game haha game wouldnt have been that close if they made all those fts, kudos to baste for mot giving up, but being in the penalty and losing Are early was just too much.

Nice game!

That end game full court press of Baste is really something. But they really need Are to be there with them to have successful comebacks. But good thing they still kept themselves to the thick of things doing that full court press even if Are graduated. But for higher success rate, Are should be there to direct and stabilize their plays. I expect for Are to really lessen the fouls he’s taking from now on. He knows he needs to be there with them to finish the game.

Really good thing about Baste this season is their turnovers, always almost just 10 TOs every game. They’re really handling the ball really well this season.

And their points in the paint, considering their height it’s just unbelievable!

Anyway, adjustments will be done! Bawi sa second round! :D

Penny Estacio is soft. It’s like watching a taller Aljay Alloso. Gets easily smothered with a hard pressure. Afraid to dribble in traffic and picks up early his dribble. Hope he toughens up as the season progresses.

Looking forward to the ancheta v lucero matchup, both these guys going at it with one another ever since their games in PSL and Filoil.

Benilde guards doing the damage against eac. Cajucom with solid back to back assists. Torres tho still needs to work on his ball handling and security.

Liwag has struggled against eac's solid defense on him. Charles Tiu should start monitoring his minutes and use turco more.

Perks of having a deep team, guys like ynot and sanchez picking up his slack. Really surprised they outrunning a smaller and supposedly faster eac team haha

Csb goes 3-0. Good dominating win against EAC. Just shows how deep this team is. Even with a bad offensive game for Liwag, they have 3-4 guys that can step up and carry the team.

With how the sched has been, didnt expect them to go 3-0 this early against potential contenders and final 4 teams. Still early, but its starting feel like this benilde team is for real. They may not go undefeated but hopefully they secure one of those twice to beats.

How is Justin Sanchez' performance so far for CSB?

How is Justin Sanchez' performance so far for CSB?

Its improving. After scoring 9 pts and committing 5 to's combined in his first 2 games, he got 14 pts in his last one while also taking care of the ball better with only 1 to. For his struggles, it should be attributed to the back injury he suffered which forced him to miss chunks of offseason preparation like Filoil which he missed entirely. When he returned, team was still being cautious with him, so he didnt immediately rejoined team A in their games and instead rehabbed and played with team b. So that messed up his chemistry with the team and that explains the miscommunications and turnovers. As for the scoring struggles, its mostly the gigil factor he admitted himself which had him forced his shots in the early games.

But then again theres signs of growth naman din. During his beda days, even in his early months with benilde, his offensive game usually revolves around playing in the perimeter, jacking up outside shots or driving to the basket. And personally wasnt a fan of it since his decision making also needed alot of work. He tooks lots of bad shots and often hero-balled when he couldve involved his teammates. Now, charles tiu has him play closer to the basket as a full time combo forward, often acting as playmaker near the post, the secondary passer to the other forward and big in the post, or the cutters from the perimeter. He has also develop better post up skills and shot more attempts near the baskets which is really his strength. He is also starting to defer more and not forcing his shots, which is infairness to him a sign of his maturity and buying in to the system. Good thing for him, is he doesnt need to pressure himself, the coaching staff doesnt expect him to carry the load since the team is already loaded, they just want him to make the right plays. So as long as he composes himself and play the right way, continue working on his chemistry with his teammates, he should be fine and continue to improve.

The mapua and perp game is getting ugly. Ref must control the game.
