That time is when Beda wins back-to-back or a 3-peat, just to put an end to the 'can't win without FSAs' nonsense. Some fans on Facebook are already saying that Beda only won last season because we still rely on FSAs, just disguised as Fil-Fors.

Are they referring to puno? Haha lmao at the haters. Dude wasnt even at a 100% seems like he was being held back.

For me, San Beda is just holding back as they are restricted by the protectionist policy of the league. If San Beda is in UAAP, they might join La Salle, Ateneo, UP, UST and NU in the armsrace. So yes, joining the UAAP will garner more positives than negatives on Beda.

MVP's sponsorship on both Beda and Ateneo should not be a hindrance to the competition since the alumni of both schools will not allow their schools to be farms of one another.

I remember there was a discussion years back about this, one UAAP board member said they may entertain new universities as long as school will have a team for multiple sports and must apply as pair, meaning another university must apply together with San Beda.

Mapua or Lyceum should give it a try.

By the way, Montinola from FEU said way back in 2009 that San Beda is the team that, he thinks, can make a jump into the league. He laid out the things that San Beda must meet for it to be admitted.

“First, they must be a university and they’re in the process of becoming one. They should write a letter of application and they probably have to pay a fee because the UAAP is quite a valuable product that if they want to join the party, they have to open their checkbook."

In 2009, San Beda said that they are keeping their options open for a possible jump in UAAP once they achieve the university status. Fast forward in 2024, I believe that the talks will just grow louder since Beda is now university. They are just finding a good reason to stay in NCAA and a better reason to leave them.

I don't think they'll welcome SBU with open arms though. That's one more rival who can potentially derail their plans.

I think Sj moore and thomas reid will follow him there. Baste needs all the quality recruits they can get. They have cocolife naman as sponsor so they should have funds for it.

I have feeling if the ncaa doesnt allows fsa's back soon, they might consider it. Im not a bedan so im not really sure, but from the outside looking in, seems like there's more positives than negatives for the uaap switch. I mean beda can accomodate naman with almost all the sports uaap has, i think a baseball team is the only team they're missing. The only issue i see is that now there will be 2 mvp teams there.

I don't get it why the NCAA mancom doesn't want to bring back the FSA's. Even in the Panalays, teams employ imports. Most of them former UAAP and NCAA FSA's. It made the game more exciting and more appealing to fans seeing those giants battled it out with local players. Its about time NCAA Mancom reevaluate their stand about it.

Judging from the profile of recruits Baste is getting, for sure coach Arvin is going to implement a run and gun system in preparation for season 101.

I just wish for the Golden Stags season 100 team to have a decent campaign this season for them to have a little bit of morale and experience come season 101.

Baste now has at least 7 new recruits waiting in the wings. And there are other new guys who were there during the pep rally. And if SJ Moore eventually joins them, there would be at least 8 new players to be lined up. I also expect them to reserve a spot for two 6’7 centers. So that’s a possible 10 new players for season 101. They still have 1 year to look for that two 6’7 centers.

Since Felebrico and Reggs are exhausting their eligibility this season, I expect for Are, Escubido, Velasco, Ricio, and De Leon to be the holdovers for season 101. The others would be relegated back to team B or reserve spots coz they were just there coz Masiglat and company weren’t allowed to play this season.

So more than half of the team for season 101 are expected to come from the new recruits. It’s going to be a totally different Golden Stags come season 101.
