NCAA Season 100

They should stream it in youtube or facebook at least if they are going to do that.

Livestream in fb and youtube will air the same time as the telecast on gma like last year. So if its delayed telecast, so will the livestream be. Like in the benilde-lyceum game last year, gma didnt even post updates on who won.

If I understand correctly GMA’s ad, it is the opening ceremonies that will be on delayed coverage.

Meanwhile NCAA Mancom Chairman Hercules Callanta of LPU revealed that the NCAA will reduce the age eligibility by one year; 18-and-under for HS and 24-and-under for college. However this will be implemented by 2026 (Season 102).

Also the benilde-mapua game. The first game they'll prolly show it live but the second game which starts at 5:30 will be shown the following day. Same as last year. If im not mistaken the 5:30 timeslot on gtv is reserved for the weekend news.

I wonder why they can't just live stream it on YouTube and Facebook, then air it on TV whenever they want. They're killing the hype for hardcore alumni/fans who aren't able to watch the game live.

Same sentiments haha, i guess they want to show "spoilers" themselves lol

Majority of the owners, stakeholders, employees and working on the news department are not really into sports

rather they are more into showbiz, k-pop, public news, current affairs and documentary kind of news reporting

that's the bread and butter, the culture of that network

same breath with the current ABS

as you've notice they haven't put up any substantial amount block time specifically for Sports in general

rather they are paying more minutes everytime fuccboi Kobs doing his usual "I'm a Thoroughbred thing"

in fairness to the biased libertarian yellow network, MVP is a sports guy that is why they put exponential amount

of block time in Sports with their Cha. 6 One Sports, Cha. 9 PBA games, Cha. 90 PBA rush, Cha. 91 One Sports Plus, Cha. 94 Taps Sports,

Cha. 96 NBA TV, Cha. 98 MPBL

personally, I don't pay too much attention on their news program esp. that Cha. 8 programs very very yellow on all degrees, no substance.

Poor george diamante, by the time he graduates shs, he'll be what 22? So only 3 playing years left haha

At least they didn't implement it sooner. Or he wouldn't have been able to play 2 years in the juniors.

It's about ratings. If sports did better ratings, then expect more of the big tv companies to invest in sports.

Final Four Predictions Martin Javier: SBU, CSB, MU, CSJL/EAC
Martin Antonio: CSB, SBU, EAC, CSJL
Anton Roxas: SBU, CSB, MU, CSJL

Coaches pick: SBU

As usual coach hammer with the 'out there' predictions lol, no JRU this time tho hahaha. Tho im with martin javier for this one. Dont think letran is a final 4 team yet but its close.

If im the ncaa, now is the time to take advantage of uaap's mess. I say remove the residency of incoming uaap transferees and have em play immediately here. Lets see if the ncaa teams can attract more high caliber players. Most of these benchwarmers and perenial team b guys are really good too, they just need an opportunity to shine. Not to mention these uaap teams will probably scoop up ncaa's best brightest naman ala jacob cortez.

Agree with this but I think totally removing the residency is too much. I think it would be better for NCAA to go ahead and implement their plan to have a 1 sem residency coming from other leagues.

Though both the NCAA and UAAP play at the same time, the NCAA could still take advantage of that 1 sem residency since there is a 1 sem gap before the next season commences. So let’s say we’re at 2024 season and a UAAP player is currently playing for the 2024 season and he decides to transfer to NCAA after playing the 2024 UAAP season. He can already play by 2025 NCAA season provided that he enrolled during the 2nd sem school calendar to the NCAA school of his choosing.

Either plans could work. Both i do get where you and op is coming from. Ncaa needs to brace themselves of uaap teams poaching top talents from the league. That rule change will have a domino effect not only affecting their league. Laxing on residency should help ease the eventuality.

Lets say for example Nygel Gonzales suddenly breaks out this season for beda. Whats stopping ateneo, la salle and other uaap schools from poaching him, and if he leaves, beda is suddenly left without another superstar. By easing on residency requirements; beda could conviniently recruit another uaap talent maybe the likes of Nu's tebol garcia for instance, the lure of him immediately playing and being the focal point of their offense may make him move. Thus solving beda's hole almost overnight, and the beauty of either your suggestion is that both will end up helping beda with their loss.

Exactly! We really can’t stop UAAP from getting our star players. And since they are making a mess on their residency rule, why don’t we take advantage of it by providing a solution of getting their role players who could be main guys in the NCAA and allowing them to play instantly. The opportunity just presented itself, I hope the NCAA takes a swift action.

Problem is it will be tough convincing them to play for a non SBU, CSB, Letran , Mapua team. Most of the recruits will flock to these schools. Same schools who adjusted well to the FSA ban.

I do hope the NCAA takes advantage because it will also impact other sports like womens volleyball.

The Lady Blazers are undefeated in the last couple of years, but I dont think they would even make it in the final 4 if they played in the UAAP.
