Also, the HEAT plan to enter negotiations with center Zydraunas Ilgauskas and guard Derek Fisher.
I hate to brag, but ever since LeBron went to Miami, I thought Miami would go after Big Z. LeBron is a big fan of Z's, plus he would be a good fit considering they need a big man or two. The question is whether or not Miami can give him the money he deserves.

Miami is also talking to Primoz Brezec. :D

Bobcats Send Boris Diaw to Toronto

Just when you thought the Hedo Turkoglu-to-Phoenix trade couldn't get any more bizarre, the Raptors go and reportedly flip the trade exception gained in the aforementioned Suns swap to Charlotte for one Mr. Boris Diaw, the French enigma who played with fellow new Raptor Leandro Barbosa under Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo in Arizona a few seasons ago. Diaw, a power forward (technically speaking), leaves a Charlotte legacy short on time but rather heavy on solid play, something which seemed out of reach when the Frenchman was first traded to the Bobcats nearly two years ago.

The Bobcats take back virtually nothing (save for fringe NBA player Dwayne Jones) in the deal, but open up a starting spot for newly re-signed power forward Tyrus Thomas. By acquiring Diaw instead of sitting on the cap space opened in The Coup That Is Trading Hedo Turkoglu, the Raptors are showing they'll push to make the playoffs despite losing Chris Bosh. Replacing Bosh with Diaw isn't the greatest stride I've ever seen, but as Bosh was bound to leave, it'll do. Really, anything Colangelo pulls off the rest of this summer can be lauded; the positive vibe from jettisoning Hedo is that contagious.

Diaw may actually end up filling a different position than Bosh did; given Toronto's depth up front, with re-signed Amir Johnson and draft pick Ed Davis, the Frenchman could be asked to slot into Hedo's old position at small forward. Diaw is famously versatile, with such court vision and a willingness to pass he came into the NBA as a back-up point guard for the Hawks. In Phoenix, as Amar'e Stoudemire healed after microfracture surgery, Diaw filled in as a center. He seems to have settled at the power forward spot -- he shared the court with true small forward Gerald Wallace and a litany of centers in Charlotte -- but Toronto coach Jay Triano may need to lean on Diaw's versatility for the foreseeable future.

Diaw makes $9 million this season, and has a player option for the same amount in 2011-12. After this set of trades, Toronto's 2010-11 payroll stands at roughly $60 million.

Udonis Haslem re-signs with Heat.

Knicks officially sign Raymond Felton.

Don't you think Z is so slow for the Heat now? I mean he's got the shot and the good scoring touch but they need more of an inside presence in their next Center I guess specially with Bosh and Haslem taking mid range shots.

Copying J's post from Calderon's thread:

Jose was traded to Charlotte today as part of a 3 team trade.

Leandro Barbosa
Boris Diaw
Tyson Chandler

Suns receive:
Hedo Turkoglu

Bobcats receive:
Jose Calderon
Reggie Evans
This could be a good deal for all teams, except I doubt that Larry Brown will play Jose Calderon. The only player born outside the US that Brown gave minutes to was Todd McCoullough. Calderon could suffer the same fate as so many good players under Larry Brown, a coach who chooses players based on their personalities and not their talent.

Considering Phoenix just brought in Hakkim Warrick, I'm kind of surprised that they brought in Turkoglu, but I think they're very different players. But, Phoenix also brought in Josh Childress, who plays the same position as Grant Hill and Jason Richardson. But, Childress is a great player. I like the way Phoenix looks right now. I'm still not a huge Robin Lobez fan, but he's improved.

Meanwhile, Toronto blew their team up. Bosh, Calderon, and Turkoglu are gone. They get three very exciting players in Barbosa, Diaw, and Chandler. A lot of people (like me) are down on Diaw. He was not great in Charlotte, although he was statistically significant. Was that because of Brown? Hmm. I still Tyson Chandler a lot. Yeah, he's soft, but I like his game for some reason (when he's healthy). Toronto looks like they'll be OK after losing their big three from last year. If they had a center, I'd put them in the "definite" play-off category. Without a center (Bargnani doesn't count and Rasho is a FA I think), they'll be fighting for the 8th spot.

Nobody knows what will happen in the future. Let us look forward to James' performance in the next NBA season.:)

This trade turned Dallas from trying to get Shaq to Chandler!!!

Zydrunas Ilgauskas is following LeBron James to the Miami Heat.
The veteran center, who started playing for Cleveland in 1997 and has never suited up for another NBA team, expects to sign a two-year contract for $2.8 million with the Heat later this week, agent Herb Rudoy said Tuesday. The two-year deal would come with a player option for the second season, Rudoy said.
``We've agreed to agree,'' Rudoy said.
The Heat had no immediate comment. They had talks about acquiring Ilgauskas when he was available this past season after being dealt in a three-team trade to Washington. The Wizards subsequently bought out his contract and made him a free agent.
Ilgauskas is the Cavs' career leader in games played, blocked shots and rebounds. The 7-foot-3 Lithuanian was drafted by the club in 1996 and overcame serious foot injuries that nearly ended his career.
He's just the latest name to join what shapes up as a serious title contender in Miami, joining not only James but Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, who agreed to a deal late last week that remains unsigned.
"I don't think if LeBron weren't there, this would be happening." Rudoy said. "His best chance to win a championship would be in Miami,''
Ilgauskas told Cavs owner Dan Gilbert and general manager Chris Grant the news on Tuesday. James played a role in luring Ilgauskas to Miami, and other teams were interested as well.
Ilgauskas was immensely popular in Cleveland, and expects to keep a home in the city.
``It's hard,'' Rudoy said. ``It's been 14 years. It was very hard for him. I know that. When he called Chris Grant and Dan Gilbert today, it was definitely a hard decision at this stage of his career. But he wants to win a championship. That's how he made this decision.''
Playing as a reserve for the first time, Ilgauskas averaged 7.4 points and 5.4 rebounds last season. For his career, Ilgauskas has averaged 13.8 points and 7.7 rebounds, plus has played in two All-Star

The Knicks will finalize Timofey Mozgov's contract so soon and are trying to get rid of Wilson Chandler and Eddy Curry!!
I believe Chandler had a great season for the Knicks last year and could really help the team at least of the bench.
