Come to think of it, Carmelo Anthony had been offered an Extension Sheet by the Denver Nuggets last summer and Anthony could have signed anytime at all...but Anthony did not. All indication that Anthony will be most likely testing the free agency market.

Which is a risky path considering the new CBA kicks in.

I think this will be their starting line-up for next season:

Biedrins and Lee would make a tough rebounding pair alongside rookie Ekpe Udoh if finally cleared to play. Curry and Williams are special players that are very versatile. In Curry, you have superb sophomore in the making while Williams is the less heralded guy; nothing flashy but can do a little bit of everything.

The New York Knicks have re-hired former NBA Star and former Head Coach Isiah Thomas as a team consultant.

On a lot of sports sites from espn to hoopsworld, Isiah Thomas is public enemy 101. Sometimes sports-writers over-react.

Honestly, I cannot believe this. Yahoo! Sports was reporting that James Dolan wants him as GM of the Knicks again. If that's true, I will lose all faith in humanity. This man should not be in a position of coaching, management, or consultation anywhere in the world of basketball.

The Houston Rockets have sent forward Trevor Ariza to the New Orleans Hornets while the Hornets have sent guard Darren Collison and forward James Posey to the Indiana Pacers on which the Pacers sent forward Troy Murphy to the New Jersey Nets and in turn the New Jersey Nets have sent guard Courtney Lee to the Houston Rockets.

guard and former New Orleans Hornets Darren Collison will be joining the Pacers and more importantly joining his good friend, Pacers guard AJ Price. Both became friends on the Pre-Draft Camp last year.

The acquisition of Collison and veteran forward James Posey have drastically changed the outlook for the Pacers for the upcoming season, as there is a hint of playoff appearance all of a sudden; but has to be remained in doubt but that doesn't mean that we overlook the Pacers.

Wow. If Darren Collison is the key to Larry Bird's master plan to rebuild the Pacers, that team is going to stink. Maybe I'm wrong, because Collison did play well when Chris Paul was injured, but he's the best they can do?

I'm kind of surprised that Houston gave up Trevor Ariza for Courtney Lee. Lee is good, but I think Ariza is better. Plus, now Houston only has Battier/Lee at the SF spot. Well, maybe Houston wants Kevin Martin to play more.

New Orleans did well to pick up Ariza by only giving up Collison.

New Jersey did well to get Murphy, too. Murphy has been under-utilized since he left Golden State.

CKR13's Indiana Pacers starting lineup for 2010-2011:

Next to the Cavs, Indiana is my second favorite team. I would love to see them do well next year, but I still think they are a long way from getting into the play-offs.

Their best player is Danny Granger, a legitimate All-Star. And Mike Dunleavy is a potential All-Star, too. I'd like to see them play together. Hibbert is still very young, but he's much less "raw" than he was at Georgetown. He's improved quite a bit (some of those big European guys would do well to look at what Hibbert has done to improve).

Unfortunately, this team is still a long way from being in the play-offs.

I disagree, Darren Collison is a prolific guard in all as he helped New Orleans cope with Chris Paul's 2 month absence.

He had that 17 points, 18 assists game against the Memphis Grizzlies (Win)

Collison had a 20 assists, 16 points game against Golden State (Win)

Collison had a triple double 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists. (Win)

Named as Rookie of the Month for the West.

The only bad is his TO's 3.5 topg but he managed to be more efficient with 1.5 topg.

I say very good trade for the Pacers as they have a solid starting PG in Collison as AJ Price is well rounded but excels in no particular category.

I did not think Collison would be that great coming out of UCLA after watching him for his 4 years there but he has become a great NBA PG. Not elite, but just a tier below that IMO. I think the Pacers did well getting him and only giving up Murphy who is underrated but is getting old. There wasn't a better PG out there.
Ariza had a poor year last year and I believe that was indicative of who he will be- a decent slasher/scorer with an inconsistent jump shot and a poor FG%. he's a good defender but for the money Houston was paying him I don't think it was worth it. He's a third option on a good team and by Houston moving him that should give more shots to Martin and Yao who are both more efficient scorers.

Rodney King "Rod" Thorn (born May 23, 1941, in Princeton, West Virginia) is the current president of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers.
Biography

Thorn attracted nationwide attention after a high school basketball career at Princeton High School that saw him average more than 30 points per game as a senior. He was a three-time all-state selection and was a two-time High School All-American. He was also a highly-regarded high school athlete in baseball.
Thorn attended West Virginia University, where he was an All-American guard in basketball, as well as playing three seasons on the WVU baseball team.
In the 1963 NBA Draft, Thorn was the second player selected overall, drafted by the Baltimore Bullets. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team, but was traded by the Bullets following his first season. After brief stints with Detroit and St. Louis, he concluded his career as a player with the Seattle SuperSonics (1967-71).
After retiring, Thorn stayed with the SuperSonics as assistant coach and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in political science.

In 1978, Thorn became the general manager of the Chicago Bulls and was instrumental in the team's selection of Michael Jordan in the 1984 draft. He also selected track star Carl Lewis much later in the same draft, mostly for publicity purposes; Lewis would never play for the Bulls. From 1986 to 2000 Thorn was the NBA's Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations.

Well, I didn't know he was that good. I also didn't know he was a four year NCAA graduate. Everybody loves four year players. Sounds like I was wrong and he is a good pick up for Indiana. I look forward to watching him play.

I agree, players like Dwayne Wade and Darren Collison had the veteran maturity when they entered the league as rookies.

Which why I'm hoping Kyrie Irving will play 2-3 years in Duke before entering the draft.

Also, Indiana Pacers guard TJ Ford have been offered a contract buy-out by the Pacers but Ford declined and preferred to be traded according to an interview.
