Big Z being traded

Big Z being traded

How sad it is to see Big Z being traded from Cleveland over to Washington. This trade reminds me of Patrick Ewing and his departure from the Knicks. Big Z and all he has done for Cleveland (though its not as great as Ewing and the Knicks) is something to behold. The Lithuanian averaged 14ppg, 8rpg and 2bg for 12 years with Cleveland. He was a 2 time All Star and was the bright light in an era of Cleveland that was inconsistent until now. Hopefully, they can retire his jersey in the future.

Many NBA insiders predict that Ilgauskas could be bought out by the Wizards and return to Cleveland. Same thing with what happened to Lindsay Hunter in 04 when he was traded, bought out, claimed off waivers and signed by the Pistons.

It will be strange seeing Big Z in another jersey though. Can't imagine it.

I agree. If, as LordofLeyte said, Cleveland can get Z back, it might be a good deal. If we can't get him back, well, I think the deal is bad on both a personal and a basketball level. Z is still the best back-up center in the league and would be the starter on most teams.

Kevin Martin to Houston!

Nice! They are not afraid to spend, while they won't make much noise this year i am excited about their core when Yao comes back:

C - Yao/Andersen
PF - Scola/Hayes
SF - Ariza/Battier/Budinger
SG - Martin/Ariza
PG - Brooks/Lowry

i am forgetting a few other Rockets but we know they are all good role players, i feel with Martin on board and assuming he's healthy, he will make that a complete team.

new trades playing really well with their new team especially jamison k.martin and salmons

The question is why would you sign Hughes? He's overrated for his salary. They can get much better player than Hughes at a lower salary

His salary is now around 260,000 USD and signed for an above minimum bracket. The brunt of those expensive salary history has been shouldered and handed down from Cleveland to New York to Sacramento and has been bought out. So Bobcats claimed him on off waivers and he already made it public that he wanted to stay with the Bobcats for a lot less, playing under MJ and his former mentor, Larry Brown.

I really hope Bosh re-signs with Toronto

Unfortunately for the Raptors that doesn't look likely as talk is that he wants out of the club.
The Bulls and the Heat are the two main teams targeting him should the Raptors release him.

You mean just until the end of the season though right? He's a forward-center.

Yes, until the end of the season as they had hoped Joey Dorsey can contribute on Toronto's front court defense. They really thought they could push for the 8th seed, and then the Bulls qualified by beating them on a pivotal match.

Camby and the Blazers close to an agreement for a 2 years contract extension for around 21M$ (+some incentive)
