Turkish NT players were given a bonus of app. 775.000 eur (1.500.000 tl) each after making to the finals. In my opinion players should not have bonuses for national team. What do you think of the issue and have you ever heard of any similar thing in your country?

Our government gave 180k LTL (~52k euros) to our NT. IMO such bonuses are nothing bad, it's natural thing when you've won smth. The worse case is when players are payed to play for NT

Each? Damn, that's a lot. Our players got ~4,5k Euros each :D

Everything our NT guys got last year(i don0t know this year, but probably the same) they donated to charity.

Yeap that's a crazy sum, since i read that they also got a house each in Istanbul as a gift from businessmen. Every national team gets a bonus, but that is probably the highest i have ever heard.

I can't believe that turkish players got that konid of money. Our NT only got 15000 litas (~4500 euros) each.

Chinese NT got some money to eat 1 Chinese meal in Istanbul. In group plays they were surviving on instant noodles and zhachai (really really really salty pickled vegetable).

I haven't heard about a huge bonus for Team USA players. Maybe that's why the US team was so successful.

They were playing for love of their country rather than money and had heart and determination to win.

I'm so proud of our American boys! Class all the way! :)

They were really passionate and played with heart the games they did, especially the final. I don't think they took anything for granted on the field, they tried really hard and succeeded. Don't know about any bonuses though :p.

our government gives our NT headaches, wait Bonuses you say? I have no idea then.

The ref Reynaldo Antonio MERCEDES Sanchez have recieved car with the same name "A" class for the great job he did in the second semi-final game;)
Our players haven"t recieved promised bonuses from the last year I don"t think they will get for this year either. Our federation owes over 400.000 euros just to our coach alone for the last two years of work , salary

I doubt if they even got a Heroes welcome or Obama called them to congratulate each one of them. If any other country won it, they would have laid the red carpet right from where the plane landed and thousands of fans waiting for them.

How much would they get if they actually won the tournament?

Anyway, I think things like that put more pressure on the players in following tournaments. Cause loosing has more consequences than simply getting eliminated.

Great point, I know US Presidents always invite NBA and WNBA champs to the White House but maybe they should do it once for Team USA who are the REAL World Champions?

I know, right? Like, 10 people actually watched the tournament in the States. It's just something people over here expect to happen (USA getting gold).

If USA won the World Cup...that would have gotten a heroes welcome.:D

As a matter of fact I remember hearing something about Kevin Durant meeting with Obama when the team gets back to the US. I heard about this before the US had even won so who knows it could be the entire team meeting with him now.

If my country( philippines) would have won it, they would have a national holiday and a parade with thousands of people waving our flags with joy jubilant and pride.

Apparently the number of American that watch the NFL game is 50 times more than the Final game.

Do they really need it? They get paid millions playing for the NBA. :D

Playing for NT is not about money. I bet that no other team got a greeting like Lithuanians did.
