Minnesota Timberwolves Thread

T'Wolves poured it in the second and showed some resilient D against Portland's attempted comeback in the 3rd. Kevin Love was one assist shy of a triple double as he finished with 29 points and 15 rebounds.

Kevin Love looked out of it and his facial expression has that dismay as the clock winded down in another loss. This time, defense proved no match against the well oiled offense of the Spurs.

Nikola Pekovic :o
He became such beast

Kevin Love yet another impressive double double: 31 points and 17 rebounds. Good thing that Kevin Martin was making shots despite him attempting so many. Good challenge by the Lakers despite missing Gasol. Young guns like Manny Harris, Wesley Johnson, Nick Young playing good despite being off the bench. Subs played better than starters.

Monster game by Kevin Love tonight: 42 points and 16 rebounds. Ricky Rubio with 17 assists.

Love was right, he has a better team right now compared to what the Lakers have.

Now there are reports surfacing that Rick Adelman could step down as the head coach after this season. Names like Fred Hoiberg of Iowa State are cropping up as potential successors.

Rick Adelman has announced his retirement from coaching and will step down as the head coach. Adelman will still be with the organization with a consulting role.

Flip Saunders did a round of interviews and in the end, he will return to coach the team himself. I can remember Saunders coaching the team since the mid 90's to the mid 2000's during the Kevin Garnett era. Saunders will still be president but will hire executive assistants for the front-office.

Despite the Kevin Love trade news, Timberwolves added Maurice Williams into their lineup.

I am expecting a run and gun team as Kevin Love is no more. In place is Andrew Wiggins and the PF-lite Thaddeus Young. Ricky Rubio will have a lot of options in the wings with them in tow. They are re-positioning for the 2015 NBA draft.

If you guys put Thad in the right position this year, he'll have a breakout year and make your team so much better. His shooting percentage was down last year because of the fact that he took (and made) so many threes whereas the previous two years he'd mostly only shot twos. I'm not sure how him and Bennett will play together, but him and Wiggins will compliment each other very well. Then you've got LaVine open for threes and Bennett on cuts to the hoop and drives when he and Thad are on the floor together. That's some serious offensive potential right there and all of that length on defense? Scary. If you guys can draft a guy like Jahlil Okafor or Karl Towns or any of those potentially elite big men, your team will be set for years if LaVine and Bennett pan out.

According to evening reports, Timberwolves are pushing hard to acquire Eric Bledsoe from the Phoenix Suns, who is now in an icy communication with the Suns.

Wow. It's going to take a lot to get him. Personally I'd easily trade Bennett or LaVine for him. Both if it would take that to get him. A guy like that is a game-changing player who you can play at the 2 if need be.

Any rumors as to who they're willing to give up? Do you think they'd include Rubio? I can't see that working out in Pheonix with him and Goran Dragic since they're very similar players.

Currently, names like Muhammad and Kevin Martin are popping up. But maybe Suns would want picks thrown in.

I can't see the Suns accepting that little in return. Picks for sure. I don't know why they'd want to take on Kevin Martin's contract and I don't think Muhammad is anywhere near enough of a sweetener to make it worth their while. Plus, I don't see how Minnesota can run a team with Rubio and LaVine in addition to Bledsoe. No way he comes off the bench, and the TWolves have too many players who need to get shot attempts to run the two point guard offense that the Suns did last year.
