It seems this video was never published before, it's Jordan breaking a board in a 1986 Nike exhibition game in Italy against Trieste (Jordan is playing for Caserta). Some claim the video is fake, check it out:

Fake as in how? You can clearly see 4 players reacting to the broken glass as well as some fans. The material of the back board has probably changed since then as well as the construction of the basket. I doubt you can see boards brake like that nowadays even after monster dunks from the likes of Batiste (in europe at least since i don't follow the nba)

What? You can clearly as edited? And how can edited? You see that 4 players were reacting to the broken glass. No offense, i doubt you think can see the boards brake can edited. Any graphic artist cannot make that at all.

Now here's the proof:

I thought the same as you guys. And the video seems genuine, that's definitely Jordan by the moves. Perhaps some got surprised by a guy breaking a board with a one hand dunk only, well, it's Jordan, what did you expect? ;)

The video is real, Andrea Pecile confirmed it. He (6 years old at the time) was at the game with his parents and remembers the action. Horacio "Tato" López, over whom the pieces of the broken board fall, was also a witness.

damn...current NBA stars are nothing but a joke, when you look at such things that Jordan was doing. genius...

It is astonishing how someone like me has never ever heard of this, even! Maybe someone will come out with an unseen video of when Dennis Rodman was normal. :p

now i can understand how lucky i am for seeing this player in action especially the tremendous series Bulls - Suns and MJ against Barkley.
amazing talent and the truly most complete player ever.
thnks for the video

That's pretty cool. :D I'm not a big fan of Jordan (I wrote a big "article" a couple of years ago called "The Case Against Jordan," which I need to search for. I stand by it).

There's not much reason to think this is fake. '86 was before Jordan had all of us big endorsements, and it was pretty common for NBA players to supplement their income by doing European tours.

Likewise, '86 was before Jordan was a real superstar, but people forget some of the things he did at UNC. He was great there too.
