Matas Buzelis Thread

Yeah, I got that. I just wanted to make a distinction between real NBA players and meh whatever, sort of in between as Cedi or even better Korkmaz. I know you were referring to BONA when replying :D Maybe he will become a real NBA player, has a potential for that.

Neither Micic nor Vezenkov are bad players. They would be great assets for any European NT.

Buzelis will be the best player of 2024 draft class. Mark my words.

I like Stephon Castle the most but a pretty weak draft class in general.

Castle is nice, but Buzelis reaching full potential with his 6'10 skilled, smooth and explosive profile is different tier, IMO.

Buzelis arrived and showed his mind blowing upside. If he's hitting his jimmie as tonight (5 threes), he's unstoppable. People will respect his shot and he will be beating them off the dribble. Once he gets inside with his size and explosiveness, it's over. The only question left - how consistent he will be with his shot. Franz is shooting something like 32% shooter in NBA and he's an all star level. I think Matas can shoot 35% hopefully. His form is better. 31 points, some nasty moves on Luka :D Career night with 31 points and Bulls are rolling. Best player in the class, book it.

Buzelis blocked the soul out of Chet last night, really nice timing to deny the opponents. But let's take a look at Matas' passing. He was once compared to Lamelo and that was lame comparison, but the dude nevertheless has smooth passing touch for his height, he has it. I think he has nice room to work and his passing further.

So far Buzelis weak spots are clear. That's only 2. Pretty stiff jumper and he must add a bit more muscles (but not too much). That's it.

Dude, with each month I see new player in Buzelis. Can you feel that dynamics in his legs? Tremendous. Few guys said recently that Matas has that smoothness in his movement like a young Dirk, but Buzelis has much more burst, he shifts he direction with force and explosiveness. And off course he's very instant leaper. Matas really exceeds my expectations. I expected this Matas only in the second season to be honest, but he's a player already and seems to be getting better and better. Seems stronger. more explosive and more polished compared to the start of the season and he does playing key minutes in real deal games. He aired balled a three with 4 minutes to go in 4th quarter, but nailed another one with 2 minutes to go :D Dude has short memory and keeps shooting with confidence. He missed some bunnies still, but when he will polish all that he gonna be efficient scary scorer and also a beast defensively. He has one of the craziest upside in the game overall. He is smoother and more plastic than Cooper Flagg. Now the sky is the limit, the upside of the superstar literally.

Well, I'm surely happy to hear that. Seems like Buzelis not backing down from suiting NT jerseys this summer. Off course, he could mean the rest of the NT too. But I'll take more optimistic interpretation of this :) Montenegro goes down though. There's no way we are not taking this. The group overall is rather easy. Just that Germany will school us most likely. All other teams should go down. At the very least we should finish too low as the draw will matter in 2027 as well. We have to make a sweep in WC 2027 qualification too, to be high enough in FIBA ranking. Off course, if Kurtinaitis will take Lithuania to semis some-how, this would be a real success story for current NT.

Will be nice to see him performing and what kind of role he is gonna get. I can imagine that old guy Kurtiniatis is banking on experience rather than talent but its a good start.

since february buzelis is averaging 14ppg, 5rpg, 2apg, 1bpg on 48% from the field and 36% from 3, very similar stats to franz wagner rookie season. idk if anyone still needs convincing but he's legit

Well, we know one guy who has been trolling Buzelis for months here now is suddenly gone and very concerned that this "raw rookie" might not show up in the NT :D But that's always the story with the guy. Just born to be schooled.

In other words, Mr. "red flag" is speechless again :D

I don't think anybody thinks he's not legit. Just there is a difference between NBA and FIBA basketball, what, unfortunately, we can see in D.Sabonis example.

Dont know how but Vidas Maciulis managed to get normal interview with Buzelis when nobody else in ltu media could

Maciulis even show how Buzelis father was flying and dunking in 1993. For white guard to fly like that in 1993 its was impressive,we can see where Buzelis genetics came from

Respect that he talks Lithuanian even feeling a bit uncomfortable. I sense that this summer he decided to skip NT, but we'll have to just wait and see
