Kings, i thank you for the info about MTA-NBA games! 
I know that our team has defeated Bullets when it was NBA Champs in 1978, but I didn't read before about Exhibition tournament at Yad Eliyahu Arena, Tel Aviv in 1984 when we defeated our American friends from Phoenix and New Jersey..
Anyway, in recent history (from 90-s till today) Maccabi had success against NBA team only in one game. Of course, it was last year thriller vs. Raptors in Toronto with Parker's fantastic winning shot.
I know that our team has defeated Bullets when it was NBA Champs in 1978, but I didn't read before about Exhibition tournament at Yad Eliyahu Arena, Tel Aviv in 1984 when we defeated our American friends from Phoenix and New Jersey..Anyway, in recent history (from 90-s till today) Maccabi had success against NBA team only in one game. Of course, it was last year thriller vs. Raptors in Toronto with Parker's fantastic winning shot.

I'm very much amazed for the good with maccabi...I was sure one of the biggest clubs in europen history will have a weak team, and more of an economic balance season.
But, they play very good toghter, and seem to have good players.
I dont know how ever if they are better than the europen champions...Cska are very strong much more than maccabi in diffance...but maccabi has a better offance...so it seems like a good match...they can win or loose.

As for one against an NBA team yeah that can be done...dont think they can beat SA but still....one team they will win against.

Spurs are too big for Maccabi, and game also was by mostly NBA rules (effectively disabling Maccabis 3pt trows) and with new NBA ball (Shak didn't likeSHARP said:
).Anyway, when Duncan and Tony Parker were out it was pretty equal game. And Nic finally started to play well, Halpering showed first signs of being PG, Eliyahu wasn't bad and Jasaitis was good today.
Buford and Bynum were not so good today, may be trying to prove something...
But still, it's not good measure for Maccabi abilitity - we'll see in Israeli league and Euroleague.
And they do need PF ASAP!!!

though maccabi was 20 points down most of the game.
a tough game for maccabi, might be the only "away game" for a european team in this tournment. of course it wasn't totaly a home game for the spurs and we'll see some games with no home court advantage at all (in cologne) but it was close to home court for them.
anyway - this game wasn't what maccabi had in mind 6-7-8 monthes ago. no baston and no parker and even no burstein, when these 4 games were schdueled maccabi didn't think it will have a whole new squad with a new coach.
ok - i'm done with excuses and since it's an exhbition game for a new team i'll try to stay optimistic and focus on the upside.
i liked elyahu - he can surprise some EL teams and he gives spahija a good weapon coming off the bench (he started the game though).
arnold was good - still with the NT mentality, few nice moves on horry, he too will have an importent role this season.
bynum - had problems guarding parker (who doesn't?) but it was true the other way around. great dribller, very quick, jumps real high, had some hard time to score his lay-ups against a tall and strong nba front court.
jasitis was good during the first Q when maccabi struggled, his automatic shooting will be an importent asset and i think sasson will find his minutes cut because of simas.
halperin - i didn't like his game, still too afraid, doesn't atack the rim, always look for the east-west dribble after a pick and roll and doesn't look for a drive or for the rolling player. should be looking more for the rim, not only for his own sake but mostly for making the defender work.
vujcic - nice game, had a hard time under the rim but scored well from outside.
buford - well i kept him for last, a bad game i have some comments but think its an exhbition match i'll pass it this time.

Maccabi didn't play bad 2-3-4Q,but 1st was terrible.Eliyahu and Vujcic was good.Duncan and Parker did everything for Spurs.
So we will see how Maccabi will play in tournament in Cologne.

However I think Tal would be the best - he steamrolled him once when thay both played for junior national teams. Tal is tall enough to give him distance and be able to block him and fast enough to keep up with him. He is injured though... So Maccabi was playing with 2 PG's only - not enough agains any NBA team.

if your talking about Maccabi in Euroleague-NBA games in EUROPE then it's 3 games.
if your talking about Maccabi in EL-NBA games then there is total of 5:
October 8 in Paris Bercy vs San Antonio Spurs
Cologne, Germany:October 10th vs CSKA Moscow

How about Eliyahu though? The kid is having a great game. 19p, 8 rebs, 2 assists, a great block from behind on V.D.Spiegel and an underneath the basket flush past Andesen.... and all that in about 20 mins of play...
